What the official warnings say
France's do_not entry names the specific risk categories driving it: seismic risk, crime, transport hazards, terrorism, and political instability. Those aren't zones you can simply reroute around on a map — they're condition-based, so read the source before drawing any route.
Italy's five entries (all updated 2025-07-08) are the most granular. Four flag security risks in named areas: the Almaty region, the city of Semey, the city of Stepnogorsk, and the Baikonur Cosmodrome. The fifth flags health risks across the Almaty and East Kazakhstan regions. If your route touches any of those, the Italian advisories are worth reading directly.
Japan and New Zealand are nationwide and light on specifics. Japan's level-1 advisory has been continuous since at least the 2026-02-10 update; New Zealand's level-2-of-4 (crime) was last updated 2024-11-29, making it the stalest entry in this set. Ireland's "High Degree of Caution" sits between them, updated 2025-08-19.
