Max Guest House

Max was a very kind and knowledgeable host. As we understand, Agra is not known for great accomodations so we felt lucky to have somewhere safe and clean. However, the rooms were smaller and less new than the photos and were slightly damp in December, the facilities (like the en suite) weren't great and the breakfast was a bit cold. It was a solid option for a one night stay but I'm unsure we would stay longer. Max is definitely a good host, though.

Good location for seeing the Taj Mahal. Very helpful owner, booked our trains for us for our onward travel. Basic rooms, had to upgrade for AC as standard room is just a fan. Uncomfortable beds and weird foam pillows but does the job if you’re just there to see the Taj Mahal

I wasn't a big fan of Agra and it was 35+ degrees which may have tainted my view. The rooms are fine if you're just staying for a night to see the Taj Mahal. I wouldn't choose to stay for long though, as the surrounding area isn't particularly nice, the rooms weren't very light and the air con wasn't great.

Pros: the old man taking care of the property is really sweet, true gentleman, changed my room after I reported issues Cons: check in isn’t allowed after 9pm though they have mentioned in website as 10pm, the owner doesn’t seem to take any requests about the same, also felt quite outcasted for being an Indian booking a room in India, he kept asking me to cancel and book somewhere else before I even checked in. room no 5- AC doesn’t work, too many mosquitoes, and the stench from a nearby...

Max was extremely helpful and responsive, and the property was perfect as a base for the night before an early trip to the Taj Mahal - would recommend for anyone looking for something similar!

The hospitality of the host was great.

Max is a great host who helped us a lot in the weeks prior to our India journey with booking trains and over all information about India. His homestay is at a nice location near the Taj Mahal with nice rooms, just make sure to get one with ac because it will get very hot without it. The food cooked by his mum is also good and there is a very chill vibe at the place.

Our stay of one night was very comfortable. The room was clean. Max gave us useful advice regarding our visit to the Taj Mahal. It was easy to store our luggage at the Hostel after check out. Also we were welcomed to stay in the common rooms and use the bath room until our departure in the evening, which was very helpful.

Max war sehr freundlich und konnte uns gute Tips geben. Wir hatten das moderne Zimmer in welchem wir uns sehr wohlgefühlt haben, es war ruhig und für diese Jahreszeit eine angenehme Temperatur. Kann ich sehr weiter empfehlen

Max was een superhost, hielp ons met alles! De kamer was net nieuw en heel erg proper! Zeker aan te raden!

Great hostel. Couldn’t ask for more in a hostel. Max was very accommodating and even stayed open extra late for our late check in!

Really good staff and a Nice hostel overall. The owner gave a lot of usefull advices and recommedations about how to experience the city and get transportation.

I had a pleasant stay at this guest house. The room was clean and comfortable, and the staff were friendly and helpful throughout my visit. Great value for money, would definitely recommend for stay.

Amazing place! Max is super nice and is always looking for your place. He’s house is also beautiful, rooms are nice and clean, with all the amenities I need. Location is also not bad, it’s easy to go to the differents tourist places of Agra. They also have food, it’s a reduced menu but good enought. Thank you for your hospitality Max! I would come back!

Max is a terrific host, as others have attested to. If you're visiting India for the first time I'd strongly encourage you to stay with him, he helps with everything (food, pharmacy, trains etc!).

Max was a great host - very proactive and helpful during my stay - he reached out to me about one week in advance to help with arranging any needed transportation from/to Delhi/Jaipur to the hotel, and the prices were decent. He prepared dinner for me on two nights and the food was absolutely flavorful, spicy, and delicious! The Dosa and Afghani Chicken were especially good! My room was simple but sufficient for a few nights, the AC worked great and the bed was comfortable. I would stay again!

Die Lage der Unterkunft war für uns perfekt. Sehr sauberes und geräumiges Zimmer. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und Max sehr hilfsbereit. Würden immer wieder kommen.
