Absoloot Hostel Queenstown

Wouldn't recommend it... just too expensive for what you get!

Very uncomfortable stay. Dirty and a couple of weird people hanging around there. I ha to repeat my request 3 times before they were taken care of

The airflow in at least the shared rooms needs to be fixed. I stayed two separate nights in two different rooms and both were incredibly stuffy and humid. Nobody likes walking into a room that smells like stale humid air. The storage room for bags is fine. But the fact that the room isn’t locked and nobody on the staff verifies bags is a little sketchy.

Don’t get how this hostel is higher rated than Adventure. Absolutely no vibe. Kitchen and common room not interesting at all. The room is quite hot and no means to manage the aircon. On top of that I was unlucky that someone decided to bring weed so the whole room smelled like weed for days. By the way, it was the same person that was snoring so loud during the night. I hoped by picking a non-party hostel that I would skip this part. Guess not. Bed, pillow, blanket and showers are nice.

Honestly the staff were the best part about this hostel. I don’t think other reviews provide a realistic description of this hostel. Yes it’s central but it’s so noisy u can hear everything on the streets, people talking, music, restraunts cleaning, and trucks cleaning the streets. The shared rooms were often filled with inconsiderate people who come in and out the room 6 times in 10 minutes in middle of night and so many families stay here. I think to spend 10$ and get a better vibe elsew...

Beim Bett dachte ich jedes Mal es bricht gleich durch 😅 Es war sehr heiß nachts, obwohl die Klimaanlage lief. Das ganze Hotel hat mir nur Party Vibe gegeben, daher für mich nicht geeignet. War jedoch sehr sauber (hatten ein eigenes Bad im 4er Saal). Liegt direkt im Zentrum.

A bit on the pricey side for what you get. Kitchen is super small for the amount of people and it all feels very cramped. Having said that, it’s in an excellent location and generally pretty clean.

Great hostel right in the middle of town

The location is 10/10 but the rooms and showers are okay. The view in the kitchen is 10/10 but the rest of the kitchen is 4/10 and the lounge is s*** 1/10.

Very good location but otherwise not the best hostel around. While checking in the staff made us feel like a real inconvenience for wanting to store our bags for a few hours. The internet is good but drops in and out every time you leave an area, so lots of logging back in.

I really liked the hostel. It was super clean and the staff was super nice. Especially the ones at the reception.

Great location right on the waterfront, comfortable beds! There isn't much of a common space or a social vibe, but that was fine for my purposes

The only minor gripe I can remember was that their attached laundromat didn't take card (cash only). Otherwise, it was a great location, rooms were as expected & good, lockers were generously sized and allowed you to lock them easily & quietly. The kitchen was cool, with a great view. The bathroom was perfectly decent. The room actually had a sink, which was pretty neat & handy. If I were forced to have a gripe, it'd be that the windows barely opened (no airflow) - but pretty minor nitpick!

Stayed at Absoloot Hostel for over a week and had a great stay. I stayed in a room of 6 and the rooms were clean, the bed had a curtain for privacy and plenty of space to store your bag/ suitcase. In the case that the bathroom in the room is occupied there’re also communal bathrooms that are also very clean and well maintained. Very good Hostel!

I loved my time at this hostel! Incredible location in the hub of everything by the lake. The kitchen also has a lake view if you cook along with spices that are available for use. Everything is super clean and they also provide towels and the beds have privacy curtains which is a plus. Would highly recommend.

This hostel is one of my new favourite hostels. The staff is warm and welcoming, helping in every situation. The facilities are clean and the lounge room allows you to really relax after a long day. It is also right in the city centre so you don't have to walk far to have a great time in Queenstown. I am always picky about hostels but Absoloot Hostel Queenstown truly suprised me. I absolutely loved it.

It was immaculate, like staying in a hotel

Lovely small hostel right one the lake edge in central Queenstown. Modern and clean facilities and rooms, would come back.

All facilites were clean and tidy. Staff was super nice and helped whenever they could :)

AbsolOOtely loved my stay in this hostel. Definitely one of the best I’ve stayed in throughout New Zealand. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The rooms and bathrooms were exceptionally clean. The lounge room was cozy and the kitchen was very well stocked, it had everything I needed. They also have a great range of activities available to book and opportunities to socialise in the hostel too! Would definitely recommend!

All around excellent. Pretty cheap and much better than other comparably priced hostels nearby

The best hostel i stayed in in queenstown! Really clean, showers were great and the location was super central. Couldn’t fault it!

I would certainly recommend Absoloot to any traveler coming to Queenstown. The location is incredible, with views of the lake and proximity to the central part of town. The staff were super friendly and helpful for questions about the town or tours. Finally, the rooms were clean and so were the bathrooms.
