Funk Bunks - Kandy

Very nice hostel! Had a single room and the view was amazing and even there was warm water in the shower. And very fair price for that. Absolute recommendation :)

Good Hostel. A little outside of the city but has a nice view over it. Spacious room. Unfortunatly no bed curtains.

Hostel was good, staff very nice and breakfast was good too. Be aware this hostel is up a very steep hill and some taxis do struggle to get up to it!

The staff is nice, the room was big and the building is nice but it was very quiet when I was there. Also the location is quite far away from the city centre which makes it harder to get around or get Tuktuk’s. On the other side: The view is pretty

Very nice and quiet hostel with a beautiful view and a nice terrace. We were there in the off season, so there weren‘t a lot of other people. might be social in the main season though and has a nice atmosphere.

The host was really helpful, he booked us a tuktuk from the railwaystation Nanu-Oya, for a better price, than other Tuks or Pickme! He offered great tours for a reasonable cheap price- there a different tours, in which you can see all important attractions! The accomondation was really cute and cozy. They also had warm water to shower, which is great, because Nuwara Eliya is quite cold. We booked a privat room with a privat washroom, also very good. The host is amazing and takes care of you!

At 11:10pm, after a long day of travelling, me and my girlfriend arrived to an abandoned hostel. We’d just missed the check-in window, but despite the hostel advertising a 24/7 reception, there was no one to be seen. We tried calling 3 different contacts, and 2 days later, we have still heard nothing. I therefore can’t provide any accurate feedback on the property because me and my girlfriend were left abandoned outside in the middle of the night with no company aside from wild dogs.

Si te gusta la montaña, está es una buena opción para hospedarte. Está ubicado en montaña por lo que hay que caminar algunos minutos en subida pero la vista vale la pena y en general está cerca del lago. El desayuno estuvo muy bueno y completo y el personal estuvo muy atento a nuestras necesidades en todo momento. Ofrecen tours por Kandy y otras ciudades turísticas cercanas a precios accesibles.

Too high up, half of my rides/tuk tuks couldn’t make it all the way to the location and I had to walk some. One of the people working there wasn’t very friendly borderline rude, but another person (maybe the owner?) was really nice. Overall the place was okay but if you’re just passing through I’d pick somewhere else that’s easier to get to

Wir waren super happy hier! Preis-Leistung ist einfach top, wir hatten das private room und es war das schönste zimmer das wir auf unserer Reise hatten, einfach super sauber, groß und das Bett war sehr bequem. Dadurch das man gemeinsam isst, lernt man schnell Leute kennen. Es gibt in Sigiriya aber nicht sooo viel zu tun, deshalb reichen so 2-3 Nächte, die Dorms waren auch voll in Ordnung

Staff are really friendly and the food is great!

Great host and we'll maintained room and facilities. Loved the view from the room. The location is slightly difficult to reach while raining but the view is worth it!

I booked a private room which was really lovely. Simple, but with care decorated. Room + bathroom were clean. Bathroom had toilleteries. Bed is comfy. Staff is very friendly and helped me with my visa. Breakfast was complete and tasty.

Good stay overall, friendly stuff and good condition room, only it is up the mountain and often taxi drivers would ask for extra charge. Uber worked fine tho.

Die Lage ist sehr unpraktisch, man ist ziemlich außerhalb von der Stadt und wenn man diesen extrem steilen Berg nicht hochlaufen will, muss man sich ein TukTuk nehmen, welches selber oft nicht hochkommt. Würde lieber ein zentral gelegenes Hostel empfehlen.

Decent dorm, takes a while to reach with Tuk or walking though since its located quite far up on a serpentine road.

Really great stay. Far away from everything but a tuk tuk is very cheap. Great view with good rooms. Definitely worth if you want to see Kandy but be away from the city

a chill hostel, a little out of town at the top of a hill but it is a nice place to stay. I had a beautiful private room and it was comfy and clean. Staff were also friendly and helpful

We had a great stay at funkbunks - the room was simple but well air-conned and had a nice balcony. Great balcony on the first floor for drinks and food with the other guests. Really delicious Sri Lanka food for dinner and breakfast. And the hill is not so bad, just a little steep climb for 5 minutes. Our tuktuk managed to get up there with our luggage and we got some good exercise!
