   Generator was a great place to stay! Met some lovely girls in my dorm and had fun at trivia night. They don’t seem to have a lot of activities like some other hostels do, but I would definitely stay here again. Most everything is within walking distance or a short ride on the train. They did offer us free coffee/tea for a good review (on Google or TripAdvisor) so maybe take those with a grain of salt.

   We booked a private room, and it smelled like 10 old ppl died there since the window couldn’t open, up on asking for a new room we weren’t allowed to check the room first before moving, so it was a gamble if it would be any better, Up on telling Dianna that we think this is strange she felt attacked here they also ask for 5 star reviews for free things!! They have a wheel you can spin and you can win free things if you leave a fake 5 star review what is against terms of service, of any review platform. If you want a social hostel don’t go here there is only old people and kids, and no service from the

   So, I don’t know where to start. We arrived later than check in, but called beforehand to ensure my friend and I would be in the same room because I have a disability. They refused us a shared room upon arrival and after arguing with the desk for 15min they magically were no longer “full” and had space to put us together. When we got to our room, our beds were occupied. Next, they do not have a microwave, fridge, or anyplace to eat outside food if an event is happening in the main lobby, like tonight. We were kicked out of the bar, no outside food (okay), but others were eating outside food and were not asked to leave. They also attempted to bribe us with writing a good review by supplying a free towel, really? This was a money hungry establishment that doesn’t care if young travelers are spending a fortune attempting to explore new places. If you don’t mind spending $50 for meals then this is a great place. If you want to save money and not get swindled by a hungry business. Spend a little more somewhere else.

   There’s a bar/club downstairs that played music all night. It was so loud I could hear everything clearly in my room I couldn’t sleep. The bathroom was not so clean, I guess it kinda depends on your roommates as well. Also, there’s no lock for the storage in the room. You gotta buy one from the receptionist or write them a review to get one for free, which I found a bit strange.

   The worst hostel. Even the staffs look abused and tired. A hostel is where you can sleep. Not this hostel. They have Karaoke nights where the music is so loud you can’t sleep even on the 3F/4F. It’s a way to generate income for the big corp, I understand, but they do at it the cost of guests. In other words, they don’t care about the wellbeing of anyone. All they care is generating money from food/ alcohol sales. The Karaoke ends at 1:30. If you don’t mind sleeping after that, you’re welcome.

   Pleasantly surprised with our private room in this hostel! With all the amenities and social activities you would expect, but with the option of privacy and quiet too. Room was all you needed - bed and bathroom. Perfectly located and walking distance to the city. Easy on the pockets too which meant more money for food and activities. Using the elevator could be a little frustrating - we were on the top floor! Loads of people accessing the elevators meant we were often waiting, the doors would open randomly and it would take a long while to get up and down.

   Pros: Location (13min walk to Gamla Stan, ~15 to most museums) Rooms are well furnished (bunks are really solid and don’t creak!) Cons: No hostel vibe No kitchen or tea/coffee facilities Unfriendly staff (not a smile to see!) Dirty en-suite bathrooms (the floor gets gross quick) Expensive facilities Security is decent (24 hour reception) but, if there’s a function booked in the room on the first floor, then the public can just walk in and access any floor which defeats the point of swipe access. Clearly once a hotel, poorly converted into a hostel whose main interest is squeezing money from their customers. They repeatedly respond to negative reviews with such disdain that you can almost hear the shrug in their voice. Plus, they continually cite they couldn’t have space for a kitchen - the conference room is massive and at the very least could be a common room with tea/coffee making facilities! But then, they’d make less money, wouldn’t they? If you can, stay at City Backpackers!

   unfortunately nothing. they have a wheel at the reception that would grant you something for free for a 5 star review, so reviews are not genuine.i would only recommend to go somewhere else, as the price for this hostel is too high for what we experienced. we spent 2 days prior to this stay at djurgarthen in a 4 stars hotel in front of the amusement park for which we paid only 20 euros more per night than we paid here. totally unbelievable we arrived and the toilet was dirty. the shower was leaking. the wc especially had stain of brown material on the wc seat and under It. we cleaned it with hand disinfection spray and reported it to the reception. they told us they cannot do anything at that point because cleaning personnel was not available atm. they said they would send someone the day after. once we returned to the hotel the day after everything was exactly the same, except that they removed the bath mat for unknown reason and did not replace it. we went again to the reception and the person there said she sees a note that the maintenance was done in the toilet and everything was ok now. we informed her about the missing mat and she said she does not know where to find a new one as she has never been there while cleaning staff is in the building, but she would ask a colleague to find where those are stored or take one from a clean room. end solution they would deliver it to our room. we did not receive anything. at the check out we were not asked anything. It was an horrible experience which ruin a part of our stay and it was my birthday.

In the evening, there are many lively and enjoyable parties, and the hotel has a very nice café. L'emplacement de l'hôtel est excellent et proche de tout. Le soir, il y a de nombreuses fêtes animées et agréables, et l'hôtel dispose d'un café très sympa. I arrived only one hour before the official check-in time, and when I wanted to leave my bags until the room was ready, they charged me extra for that single hour. The room itself was very small, the bed was uncomfortable, and there was no TV. The bathroom was tiny and poorly equipped, and cleanliness was subpar. I don’t know how this is called a “deluxe” room. There was no coffee or water in the room even though I paid 200 euros per night. On the last day, I returned to the room at 10:10 a.m. — just ten minutes after the specified checkout time — only to find that the keycard had already been deactivated and my bags were still inside. At reception, they said the room time had ended, so they disabled the card. In the end, I paid a large amount and received no service that justifies this hotel’s star rating. Je suis arrivé seulement une heure avant l’heure officielle d’enregistrement, et lorsque j’ai voulu laisser mes bagages jusqu’à ce que la chambre soit prête, on m’a facturé un supplément pour cette seule heure. La chambre elle-même était très petite, le lit n’était pas confortable et il n’y avait pas de télévision. La salle de bains était minuscule et mal équipée, et la propreté était insuffisante. Je ne comprends pas comment cela peut s’appeler une chambre “deluxe”. Il n’y avait ni café ni eau dans la chambre alors que j’ai payé 200 euros par nuit. Le dernier jour, je suis retourné dans la chambre à 10h10 — soit seulement dix minutes après l’heure de départ fixée — et j’ai constaté que la carte-clé ne fonctionnait plus tandis que mes bagages étaient toujours à l’intérieur. À la réception, on m’a dit que le temps imparti pour la chambre était terminé, donc la carte avait été désactivée. Au final, j’ai payé un montant élevé et je n’ai bénéficié d’aucun service justifiant la note en étoiles de cet hôtel.

    This place has mostly fake 5 star reviews from fake accounts. Be aware this hostel is terrible and very uncomfortable.

    In all honesty my stay here was really unfortunate. Wrong time wrong place. Generally, the hostel was not a bad place to stay, clean, comfortable beds, and just slightly far from any form of public transport. However, during my stay, my locker along with 3 other roommates got broken into where our padlocks were cut. I personally lost in excess of SGD500 along with personal documents. Other roommates also lost cash, electronic devices and passports, total value mounting to a couple thousand dollars. Hostel staff said they can’t do much, (I understand where they are coming from) only able to offer breakfast and room change if needed, but I am unimpressed with how they handled the situation. I was asked to go to the police station to make the report myself without any assistance nor informing me that the police station was already closed. Instead the police should and been called. I also felt that the situation should have been taken more seriously, where the whole room should have been taken as a crime scene, for the police to take photos and evidence. Hostel CCTV footage was also not accessible and could only be assessed by the hotel manager who went home already. If only fast, decisive and the right decisions were made, (e.g. calling the cops, instant review of CCTV, security watching CCTV for suspicious activity and a manager around) we would have definitely been able to catch the thief and recovered our items. Unfortunately due to this incident and how the staff reacted (being unprepared and having a weak/ lack of procedure on what to do when such a situation happens) left a bad taste in my mouth. Hopefully, the hostel will learn from our loses and create a better way to tackle issues of theft and their procedures if one were to occur again. Personally, without any significant changes, I would highly recommend against this hostel due to their poor procedures against theft.
