Makotel Hostel IPOH

The hostel building is big and there is plenty of room. The female dorm and bathroom area were also spacious.

The location is great, I feel secure at night and no cockroaches roaming around. You might even see a cat playing in the facility at night.

Very nice staff in a good and affordable hostel. Location is ideal too ! I forgot a bag there and the staff brought it back to me in Kuala Lumpur ! Very helpful and nice stay ! 100% recommend !

Asif was soo helpful! He has loads of great information on the good spots in Ipoh! The hostel was very quiet when I was there, but there was social space available. Facilities were spotless and the bed was comfy.

A very odd hostel… almost feels like a prison since there’s a curfew at 11:30pm. Floors and bathrooms could be cleaner but the beds are amazing

The mosque is right next door, so be aware of that. Prayers are held several times a day. The staff is very friendly and helpful, the mattresses are thin and uncomfortable, but the location is very convenient near the train station.

Cheap hostel with nice staff however not the cleanest. Beds were comfy and AC was strong but the dorm floor was very dusty and hadn’t been cleaned. Bathrooms were ok but not the cleanest either. Overall decent for a few nights! Good location in Little India. Very quiet and not very sociable but there are sofas to relax on.

Had a great stay at Makotel! Very conveniently located and the staff was extremely accommodating. Asif was excellent with providing recommendations for things to do in town, and I would 100% recommend this hostel.

Definively way to noisy. The hostel provide free ears plugs however this is not enough. There is a real gap between the window and the frame so it looks like the cars and the motorbikes are just next to you. Feel like I slept in the street even with the ears plugs. The man at the reception was kind and helpful. Could be a bit more clean but was ok. Very good location next to the concubine lane and good price, the two only advantages of this hostel.

The hostel is clean and has everything you need, including towels, shampoo and laundry. Plus the location is great, as it’s just next to the train station. When I went it was very quiet so it’s more of a place to sleep than to socialise/ party.

Joa was soll ich sagen sowohl der Ort als auch das Hostel sehr Tot. Niemand war in meinem Hostel und ich hatte 12 Bett Zimmer für mich alleine. Dusche und Toiletten auch ok. Gibt nur keine Tür. Nur ein Vorhand vor dem Klo

Good place to crash for couple nights, close to the train station and old town, if you’re planning to make a stop to visit those places and drink the famous ipoh coffe, this is a good location for that

Lovely people. Good location near train station. Comfy bed. Kitchen could do with a makeover. Great showers.

It seemed to be that the hostel was very concerned about the toilet paper supply! There was just a roll of paper in 3 toilets. Bring your own paper in if you happen to stay in this hostel. And the paper quality the hostel provided was the worst I've seen in all the hostels I've visited!

Die Unterkunft ist in einem interessanten Gebäude.Ich war etwas wegen der verschiedenen Eingänge verwirrt. Das Personal war leider wenig motiviert, obwohl kaum was los war. Die Stimmung war manchmal etwas schräg. Das Hostel bot alles was ich brauchte. Es gab Handtücher, Wasser zum Auffüllen und genügend Klos und Duschen.

The bathroom need his or tables you can hang your things on when showing. It reminds me of army barracks, rather than a hostel.

Quiet and cosy. Lots of food nearby. Great value.
