Intra Muros Hostel

the place is far away from the post and bus stand. the guy at the reception even helped me with booking my taxi for the port the next morning. the thing that annoyed me very much was I had to leave for the port in the morning, AND THERE WAS NO WATER IN THE TOILETS OR KITCHEN! the fact the the bathroom is on the second floor is annoying enough. there are no toilets on the ground floor. andif you have to use the bathroom, it's on the second floor. neither the toilets nor the bathroom were clean.

overall, fine place to stay for a couple nights. beds were good with curtains and AC. bathroom/shower situation was not good at all - very small showers with no room to get changed in the bathrooms. people would either get changed out in the open or walk in their towels back to their dorms and get changed there. i wouldn’t stay more than a few nights just due to the shower/privacy situation but its a good spot to be near a bus stop to the ferry port.

This hostel has lots of potential unfortunately it's let down by the staff. One of the most cold welcomes I've ever received. No atmosphere just the staff hanging out with each other felt like I was intruding. Considering the 'boutique' price the women's bathroom is not clean nor the rooftop. Facilities are good & beautiful old building but was seriously disappointed considering you can stay in an airbnb for around the same price.

I have never seen such a dirty bathroom, the showers are orange with dirt and it's clogged

This hostel is too expensive and not very clean for the rating and the price compared to other hostels on crete. Next time, I will book another hostel.

Everything great except lock ups. No real security other than an attendant. But the location is superb and the staff very helpful.

90% empty during low season. Directions in confirmation email, insufficient for foreigners and haphazard posting of street signs. Poor directions can be a form of abuse. Both desk clerks stiff, incapable of smiling or laughter Bed in dorm, left after one night, afraid of them, never know if you will offend them or break some rule, Not recommended, solely based on staff acting like you are bothering them with every question, arrogance and complete indifference.

A pretty nice hostel all things considered! The staff were really lovely and let me arrive at 4:30am because of my ferry. The showers had pretty minimal privacy, so be aware of that. The kitchen was nice and spacious, and they sold water for when you needed it which was appreciated!

Staff was very nice. They do need more bathrooms and chill space to sit. Great location

Auberge idéale pour tous les amateurs de tranquillité. Elle n'est pas très grande et assez calme. Les lieux sont vraiment bien entretenus, et le rooftop est vraiment un gros plus. Les chambres sont très simples mais amplement suffisantes. De plus, l'auberge est très bien localisée, à 1km du centre ! J'y ai passé un très bon séjour !

Intra Muros absolutely exceeded my expectations. The location is unbeatable, right in the heart of Heraklion, with everything you need within walking distance. The real highlight is the rooftop, hands down one of the best chill spots I’ve come across while traveling. The atmosphere up there is incredible and it’s the perfect place to meet other travelers. Everything was clean & well-organized. I’d definitely stay here again!

Very nice place to stay. All clean, very well ubicated: close to center but not too much to be bother by noises. Nice and helpfull workers/ people making volunteer. Terrace is extra nice.

Great setup for a solo traveler in the off season. Most the staff are travellers too, so are up for a chat. There's a well-equipped kitchen and eating area that's attached to the main corridor so it's easy to bump into people and get to know them. Clean and pleasant, lockers are available and each bed has a curtain, light and charging point. It's easy walking distance from the main attractions. I love this hostel and kept extending my stay.
