The staff at the reception is creepy and the manager was rude. The hostel and rooms didn’t have locks. Felt unsafe in this place
Rude receptionist and an unprofessional manager. The receptionist got irritated just because I asked twice about an early check-in (even for an extra fee) after a 10-hour bus ride from the desert, wanted to impose a fee because I arrived early at 7:00 am! The manager eventually checked me in but did so through a series of uncomfortable, interrogation-like questions. The room was dirty, and the toilet seat was loose. I genuinely felt unsafe here — this hostel shouldn’t even be listed for book...
Better off not taking their desert tour
Main door was never locked, the 2 dorms on the bottom floor of the Riad are completely exposed to whatever wants to waltz in. The showers don’t drain, it floods the rest of the bathroom in a major way. Toilet paper… none, I ended up raiding the storeroom by the end. People sleeping in reception bc they messed up the booking. The reason their ratings is so high… free Sangria and Shisha at night 4 travellers who write a review. Clean! Beds, extremely comfortable + 2 pillows, backpacker lux...
Unfortunately a bad experience. After arriving, the hostel owner immediately gave us the hard sell on his Sahara desert tour company. We paid extra convinced of a better service, only to find out we were thrown in with people from a variety of different companies, all of whom had paid considerably less. DO NOT BOOK HIS TOUR! Also had an issue with laundry in which we had multiple items of clothes missing, to which the hostel found after we had left, and tried to charge us €50 to return.
Have to say staff were very friendly. But the overall cleanliness, location, and facility was not it.
The guy who checked us in was absolutely lovely, unfortunately the twin room was absolutely horrible. Holes in the wall / roof, a very bad bathroom plumbing smell (which we asked them to fix and they didn't) and cash only. Such a pity!
Where to start…. When we arrived, we were greeted by some hippie employee who told us to just sit down and « chill » and he just disappeared. We just wanted to check in and go to sleep. While « chilling » for the hippie to get his stuff together, we saw a cockroach crawling on the wall right next to us. I shit you not, the cockroach flew in my face and I ducked at the very last second to avoid getting roached. When we FINALY arrived to our room, surprise surprise, there was a smooshed ...
Very poor experience at this hostel. The man in charge was very rude to me when I was asking questions about the city and navigating. The doors of the dorms do not lock and the front door stays wide open during the day, meaning anyone can walk in and out at any point. The activities and services offered are extremely overpriced compare to what you can book online. For example he changed 250€ for the 3 day camel trek where I paid 160€ through a company I found online. Breakfast is free bu...
Unfortunately, despite the building being beautiful and the rest of the staff being extremely kind, we have to give 1 star to Riad Verus. First, we arranged a prepaid taxi through the hostel from the airport, however we were asked by the taxi driver and one hostel worker to pay again. Next, we had to last minute cancel our previous booked desert tour and were talked into booking a tour through the hostel manager, who we believe was named “Dan”? Our tour included the desert excursion as well ...

Nice hostel and nice staff.
Super séjour et le personnel est super accommodant. Je recommande
Second time staying at Riad Verus and can’t wait for my next trip back. The staff makes you feel truly at home, especially Nassim, and the vibes are 💯 great places to hangout, great location on the edge of Medina making it easy to get to and easy to explore!
What a fun place with kind, fun staff! I stayed two nights in Fes and this was the perfect location. Breakfast was delicious. Rooftop was amazing. Vibes were great! Would highly recommend!
Could not recommend this place more! Genuinely the best hostel I have ever stayed at. The vibes here are absolutely insane, pictures don’t do this place justice. I will be back!
I had a great stay here—super social vibe! The staff and breakfast are amazing! But don’t book the Desert Tour with the hostel. It’s overpriced—you’ll get exactly the same as everyone else from GetYourGuide or wherever, just paying way more (30-70€ extra) and sharing a hotel room - They don’t
Overall a good experience, the staff was friendly and the barman will bring you free unlimited tea while you chill on the terrace. The problems for me were that the bathroom wasn't always too clean and the bed mattress was pretty hard.
This is one of the best riads/hostels I’ve stayed in, and I’ve been traveling all over Europe so that’s saying a lot! Very clean, beautiful atmosphere and rooftop, 100% recommend.
Très bon séjour à Riad Verus ! Un grand merci à Nassim pour son hospitalité et son sourire
Great hostel, ended up staying another night because we liked it so much, all the staff were very friendly and welcoming, Zac and Nassim especially so! Great location and the hostel itself is really nice, terrace, breakfast area.
It was great
Really nice place to stay and the staff was great! They helped us find an ATM and served us tea. Really cool terrace on top to hang out at. Would recommend
Everything about this hostel was great! It’s still in the early stages, but has so much potential. The location was perfect, right in the middle of everything, and we felt safe and well looked after. The manager was lovely, and the lady working there went above and beyond for us. Her breakfast was spectacular and honestly hard to beat. Would definitely recommend!
if there is one thing you do in fez, it has to be to stay at this hostel. best atmosphere i have had in a very long time, staff are absolutely excellent, you’ll drink so much tea and the breakfast is insane. the staff love putting my people together and making everyone feel welcome. special shoutout to Hassim, he will always make you feel welcome and loves a late night hang out 🐒
I had a brilliant experience, the hostel is very welcoming the staff Nassim , Zak and Dan were so kind and accommodating. The chillout areas on the roof are unmatched, the unlimited tea, coffee and insanely good breakfast. It’s perfectly located and the beds a comfy. Great place for solo travel and will be back! Met so great people there and made me fall in love with Fes and the Moroccan culture.
everything about our stay was incredible! The rooms are great and the facilities are also amazing; however what took us away was the rooftop. there are constantly people up there and everyone is so social and it is such a pretty place to hang out, we didn’t even want to leave the hostel. the staff are what blew us away tho: the owner dan is so lovely and really brings people together; nassim (Alejandro) and zach were so amazing and really make people feel comfortable. 10/10 #alsquadverified
Perfect must stay in Fes! The staff is so wonderful always waiting to give you a fresh cup of tea when you go to the rooftop! It is located so close to the main square and makes it an easy walk to all your activities. The hostel was clean with very comfortable beds!
Great place and the staff was really nice! Felt sick one afternoon and they ran out to get me water and snacks 🥹 Always a cup of tea ready for us. A lot of the time there were no toiletpaper and the bathrooms weren’t the cleanest, but they were no different from others I visited in Morocco. (Always warm water, witch hasn’t been the case everywhere)
I loved Riad Verus!! Super friendly and cool place! Miss it already, definitely going back ✌️☀️
