Yufuin Country Road Youth Hostel

Such a beautiful hostel in the countryside of Yufuin. Delicious home-cooked food for dinner and breakfast with extra rice and unlimited tea and coffee. Lots of manga to read. Onsen inside the facility (felt luxurious!). Youth hostel but I also met some elders staying there, which I really enjoyed. The female-only dorm had also a private living room with tatami. The staff was so lovely, they sung us a song to say goodbye and took us back to the station with their van for free.

Best hostel I’ve ever been to. The host/ess are very nice. They took us out for star gazing/drove a free shuttle .The hostel is cute and you can feel that work they love their little home. It has a nice environment to get to know the other travelers. The food for an extra 1000 yen is very nice. The location is beautiful, you can look down to yufuin. Minor problem: you probably have to walk up. It’s steep and about 25 minutes. There is a bus going up but I felt it was hard to catch it.

Fantastic hostel on the outskirts of Yufuin. Since there were no restaurants within walking distance, I decided to eat dinner at the hostel. I'm super happy I did: the food was absolutely delicious and plentiful. Polished wooden floors, onsen onsite, yukatas for rent and dorms with only 4 beds, what else can one wish for? The owners are very kind, they try to help out with transportation and even sang a farewell song for every guest!
