Hutt Hostel

A bit of a disappointing way to end my otherwise wonderful trip around in Northern Ireland. The host Steph was not always super responsive and more importantly no one was available at the reception when I arrived. Check-in was between 5-8 pm but when I asked to check-in at 7:30 pm, Steph would not be available because of a private a appointment. This is not the way to run a hostel, I think. This is the hospitality industry after all.

nice hostel - looks very nice, good beds, nicely decorated. Bathroom is clean. Nothing is closed with a key or anything, no lockers in the room. Payment only by card, which is really annoying nowadays, especially when the ATMs in the village are all out of service...

The overall experience was great. The host were gracious and friendly. All the facilities were available as mentioned in the overview. However, few points to note are; if you are paying partial amount the remainder has to be paid in cash. The bathroom basin only has cold water. The bed mattress needs replacement as they do not have sufficient cushioning. I woke up 2-3 times in the night as I did not felt uncomfortable.

Fantastic location with ample free parking on the doorstep. Every room was more than clean, in fact too clean as we often felt in the way when the place was being excessively mopped when it didn’t need it. A shame there wasn’t anywhere secure to put any belongings in the dorm, and that the dorm door itself did not lock. Luckily we had a car to leave some things in but others may not have that option. Also a bit odd that the kitchen closed at 9pm and didn’t open until the morning. Luckily t...

9.1 really doesn't reflect how much I enjoyed my stay at Hutt. If honesty requires my finding some faults, it also demands my giving 11 points out of ten for my personal stay. I was delighted when space opened in this hostel in high demand. I look forward to going back.

Sauber, freundliches Personal

As a solo female traveler, this was perfect. I felt at home and safe during my stay. The owner Stephanie is the best!! She was so kind and communicative and helpful :) And the location is *chefs kiss*. If you enjoy trail running or hiking, this place is the perfect spot. You’ll have to make time for Tollymore Park and a hike to the top of Slieve Donard… it’s a must! 😍

great place & comfortable, nice old building. only one other person here but didn't feel bad just nice & cosy. wifi good, views of the sea. only drawback - there were no lockers/key to the room. would recommend

Hutt Hostel is really well located for convenience and stunning landscape. It was perfectly well equipped, including a drying room, which is useful after coming down off the mountains. Beds were comfy. Lighting is a bit harsh in the rooms and communal areas. Hutt Histel's outstanding quality is, for sure, its staff. Steph and Cathel are incredibly accommodating and genuinely care for the enjoyment if the hostel users.

Great Hostel. Great value for money in a central location.

Très agréable car propre et bien tenu, cuisine bien équipée quoiqu’il manque des bols et une écumoire. Mais pas de casiers dans les chambres. Avec un peu de courage, on peut partir de l’auberge en maillot de bain pour le bain de mer avant le petit déjeuner !

I really enjoyed staying in this hostel. The manager and staff were very friendly and helpful, and the hostel was spacious and comfortable, and well equipped. The hostel location is also very central, so it was easy to get to places, and it was quiet at night time. I would recommend the hostel to anyone wanting a break in Newcastle.

Completely unbelievable staff amazing why pay over the odds basic somewhere definitely put head down most definitely will be back

The location is superb. Right on the seat front and parallel to the main street. All public car parks in Newcastle are free so you're sure to get parked close to the hostel. Stef, the host, couldn't have been more helpful. On the day I left painters were setting up to do some redecorating so it will look even better next time.

My stay at the Hutt Hostel was just perfect. Everything was so clean and the rooms and beds were comfy, the kitchen was big and I could store my things perfectly. Steph was the best and kindest host and I had some lovely talks with her. Don’t hesitate to book!

Have stayed here twice for trail running events. Location is great, staff are lovely, rooms are clean. Beds not so comfortable but fine for short stays. Facilities are excellent and located in the heart of town. Will be back a third time!
