The Hosteller Fort Kochi

Fine for Kochi. Central location but on an incredibly noisey road. Just a constant sound of beeping and engines. We were on the 1st floor north side so worse possible location for sound. Private room was nice, good AC, slightly overpriced. Also they ask you to pay upfront before arrival on thier website. They then add around r1,400 extra in terms of additional such as card and 'convince' fees.

BE CAREFUL ‼️I stayed at a hostel for four nights, and on the last night, a man in my room tried to talk to me, but I was tired and went to sleep. At 1 a.m., he called my name, and I noticed my curtain was open. He then asked to lie in my bed, and I panicked when I found the door locked. I banged on it, and he opened it. The staff didn’t seem to care, but reception moved me to a private room. This incident made me realize how cautious women must be when traveling alone.

Clean hostel with nice warm showers, good beds, good wifi but so many things are broken. Only one guy at the front desk speaks proper English, the rest is lacking. No atmosphere here right now, could be the time of the year.

There was a mix up with my booking and the hostel owner blamed a staff member publicly. He was shouting and banging the table and it was quite terrifying. In addition, I asked the hostel owner for a towel and an taxi. He ignored me both times and continued to watch YouTube videos. Would not stay again ever

This hostel has a known problem with plumbing but hasn’t sorted it yet. My first room had a faulty toilet so they moved me to another room where the shower didn’t work unless you went all the way down to reception to ask them to reset it. Also an confusing selection of switches in random places in the rooms, meaning it’s a puzzle to work out how to switch on the various lights , the fan and the air con. Proximity to all the good cafes and spots! Stayed in both dorms and a private room. Bunk beds are awfully close to the fan😬 Should conduct some ice breaker activities if possible. Could hardly see anyone hanging in the common area.

Staff issue!! We arrived and they couldn’t find our booking. I had the reservation on the app, the confirmation email, and the payment proof showing that my booking was valid. It probably took them over 20 minutes to find the booking (it was already past midnight). The next morning, they told me they couldn’t find my payment 🤦‍♀️ To top it off, the female receptionist was very rude. BUT the hostel itself was actually good.

Cool hostel in a great location, a few minutes walk from the Chinese fishing nets, beach, restaurants and bars. Has a nice big communal rooftop area where you can chill. Staff were great and accommodating.

I do not recommend staying here. The place is only good for sleeping one night. They could invest more in air conditioning, especially in the entrance hall. There is simply no socializing between people, which is why it is better to stay in the room, which is the only place where you feel comfortable.

Prepare yourself for cold showers and no great lounge areas. Location is superb, but it’s hard to meet people here. Lights in dorms are installed right above top bunk bed’s and have blinding LED light… Overall not too bad, but could be better in lots of ways.

Note: theres a lovely local restaurant nearby called Cosy Spoon - it's a must try!Right,the hostel is a clean and comfortable place to stay. Location is excellent. There was no atmosphere, and few people responding on the groupchat. Staff are very slow to help you with issues. Door didn't have any key to lock it and the front door is always open but they have big lockers under the bed to lock your case away. Overall okay, but not for more than a couple of nights.

The staff were very friendly and respectful. Its close to major attractions and the water metro, and the best part was I could just work from the common spaces peacefully, it was pretty quiet and convenient.

Great stay in a great location. Facilities are clean and well maintained. Shyam is a legend who will look after you!

This is a decent hostel but overpriced. It's in a quiet location but still nearby to various resturants and so on. They have some social areas and are usually sold out so there are other people around. One big problem though is that they seem to have the opposite of a common problem with water - not enough cold water! I was only here briefly. But from what I saw, it's a great hostel. Really nice bathrooms and beds. It also has a cool communal area, and the location is unbeatable.

Ein solides Hostel in Top-Lage- jegliche Cafés und Restaurants, die das Herz begehrt, sind zu Fuß zu erreichen. Allerdings sieht das Hostel auf den Fotos wesentlich größer aus, und es gibt eher wenige Gemeinschaftsbereiche. Leider gibt es auch keine Frauenschlafsäle. Generell sind die Dorms recht klein. Stauraum und Vorhänge sind aber vorhanden und es war größtenteils sauber.

Clean modern hostel, great location in centre of Fort kochi - everything was walkable. Little atmosphere but dorm room privacy was good. Rooftop was shut so very little atmosphere and no food. Laundry expensive.

Don’t understand the whole check in online, extend online, pay online deal. Like what is the point the the reception if you have to do everything yourself? They were friendly though and the hostel is in a good spot, not much happening here though but good for 1/2 nights

The lady at the front desk told me there's no public transport to the airport which is not true and told me I had to get a taxi. Don't be fooled, there's the ferry, buses and even a metro. Extremely unhelpful overall. Feels very commercial, it's a hosteller afterall.

The beds were super comfy, the location it's great, there is a kitchen, they give you drinkable hot or cold water, which it's very appreciated. It was my first hostel in India and I felt very safe there.

Stay here in Kochi!

I didn't realise it was actually going to be good. Good location, staff were the most helpful. Rohit bent over backwards to fulfil my wishes. Roof top was a blessing. Good AC. Now I'm on a train away from beautiful Fort Kochi. Want to go back as soon as possible.

The Hostel looks really good, cnice furniture, great bathroom which I have rarely seen in India, great terrace and the location is very clean. -What I disliked a bit was: the temperature of the AC which can only be changed by the reception and when you walk into the room, is like walking into the freezer. - requested an extra pillow and they didn’t have any to give me - they don’t serve breakfast/coffee - the social aspect can be better. Might be because they accept large groups.

We loved our stay at the Hosteller in Fort Kochi. The room was clean and had everything we needed. The staff were also very helpful and organised activities to see the area and meet other guests. Would recommend!
