- Most of it is gross. Not too friendly and the caretaker says hes nice but is definitely not. Maliciousness, selfishness, drinks during work.
+ The prospect of a long term home.
- Being banned without any reason, after being offered a long term room by the owner, 3 days after being assaulted by another long term guest. That violent guest has lost his temper at young women twice before and was not kicked out, still there. He preys upon young female backpackers. The kitchen is not cleaned at night feeding a cockroach problem. The older brother owner then claimed some drug user stigmatized association, as an excuse for his illegal gullibility for targeted discrimination. I hold a current national police check, have a glowing Queensland Police character and ethics reference, and do not use illicit drugs, drink or smoke and am drug tested regularly for work. You will regret staying here guaranteed.

- First time I've been physically assaulted by another guest in 4 years travelling. THIS PLACE IS INCREDIBLY DANGEROUS! DO NOT STAY HERE!

- Zac Harrison a long term guest threw chilli in face in an unprovoked assault. Someone stole my $800 drone from a locked room, and a staff member looked very guilty everytime it was mentioned. Food thown out. Rude manager who never blowers the butts like hes supposed to. Literally the worst customer service of a manager you could possibly imagine. Never smiles. Want a discount? Nah he'll find fees to add. Caretaker joked repeatedly about mutilating my genitals. Zac and Indian Jay long term sit in the kitchen staring at young women cook, for 6 hours, making them feel uncomfortable daily. Broken night entrance door. Lots of rats and cigarette butts at entrance. Nasty neighbour baker trying to vilify me constantly, which is completely illegal.
+ Terrible staff rip off place other people staying there a homeless thieves and i wouldnt even rate them one star be careful of this place i would try ANY OTHER BACKERS

+ Old rotten low vibe hostel. Helpful, efficient and friendly staff. Excellent position, a good place to stay for the night and move on. Excellent ladies toilette cleanliness. Extremely dirty but spacious kitchen. I stayed there for one night to catch my flight the next morning so at the end of the day it was a good compromise given the cheap price and the central location, which was extremely close to the bus stop for the airport (not even 3 min walk) but I wouldn't come back, maybe I would pay a bit more even for one night, to feel e bit more comfortable.
- General common spaces cleanliness (the moquette and couches was horrifying), illumination. The closed kitchen at 6am has been a bit uncomfortable cause I needed to have breakfast before departure. People in the common space making noise till late night wasn't ideal, but nothing you can't fix with a pair of earplugs. Again, nothing against staff, amazing people. But you can't say the same about the building and the general care the management put into this hostel.

+ -Location was excellent - right in the middle of the city -Bed was very comfortable - pleasantly surprised -Toilets were usually clean -Not too much noise
- -Towels weren't automatically provided for private rooms - however they did bring me one after hours when I reached out -Reception hours minimal, meaning inconvenient to hold bags/request necessities -Shower was cold (lukewarm after a few minutes) -One sink in the shared bathroom -No soap dispenser on the shower wall (provided hand soap, not body soap)
