Ceylon Nature Hostel Kitulgala

when i arrive, no one there, tried calling and texting but no answer. the walk to the hostel is through the forest, not next to the road. waited for an hour before deciding to leave. avoid at all cost, especially if you arrive with public transport.

Echt een heerlijk verblijf gehad hier. Hele mooie kamer, direct aan de rivier en daardoor begeef je je helemaal in de jungle. Het eten is heerlijk en het personeel is heel aardig! Ik heb geraft en dat raad ik iedereen aan, voor ieder niveau is het leuk :)

Had such an amazing stay! Rachitha and all staff were so lovely and welcoming. The hotel was beautiful and rooms unreal looking right on river. Didnt so activities with them but wish I did! Defo recommend

Perfect if you want to relax and enjoy the beautiful nature, but also possibilities for adventure such as rafting you could just book upon arrival. Staff was very friendly, booked a dorm and got a free upgrade to private room!

Good value for money! Positive first: great location with super nice views from both the common area and the room. The staff was super friendly and the food (dinner and breakfast) was nice. However: the bed was quite damp and a little dirty, the room was mouldy, the bathroom was leaking and I had no water in the bathroom (even after I mentioned it and they told me they’ll fix it).

I had such an incredible stay here! The staff went above and beyond to accommodate my schedule and even prepared food exactly to my liking. The owner personally took me to pick local plants, which they later turned into a delicious curry — such a unique and heartwarming experience. The rafting was awesome and full of adventure, yet the whole place had such a personal, authentic feel — nothing felt commercialized. Beautiful hostel in the middle of nature, waking up to the sounds of birds and the gentle flowing river really restored me! The rooms were very clean and comfortable, the host accommodating and always willing to lend a helping hand. Met some great people while river rafting and canyoning and had an overall splendid experience with Ceylon Nature Hostel!

I can highly recommend this for all nature lovers! The location had such a harmonious atmosphere, with a river you could swim in. The hostel organized all my activities and meals at a really good price. Combined with the excellent service, it felt more like a hotel.

I really enjoyed my stay here. it's directly in front of the river where you can swim and relax. also my room was nice with a jungle and river view. had a very nice traditional breakfast which in my opinion was a bit overpriced with 5 $. and finding the place was not easy, as the reception is Ceylon Adventure Sports. no sign of the hotel. could only find it with help of locals. all in all a very nice place to relax and enjoy the quiteness of the jungle. i'd recommend it!!!

Het personeel was zeer vriendelijk en steeds bereid om te helpen. De ligging is fantastisch. Nog nooit wakker geworden met zo een mooi uitzicht! Zalige route naar het hostel! De rivier naast het hostel is perfect om in te baden en ze bieden ook zelf de mogelijkheid om te raften en ziplining. Daarnaast was het eten erg lekker!

We hebben genoten van ons verblijf hier! Het padje naar het hostel brengt je meteen in de sfeer van de jungle. Het zicht op de rivier is prachtig en je kan er ook fijn in zwemmen. De kamer is basic maar in orde. De eigenaar is enorm behulpzaam en vriendelijk, hij wil echt dat je alles uit je verblijf kan halen hier. Het eten was ook heel erg lekker!

Things didn’t to as expected: -we couldn’t find the place at first -There was some local party outside and they played loud music till 2am, even though the receptionist said they will stop way earlier -the rooms were untidy, there were ants in the bathroom and in one of the beds, shower was broken -receptionist told we could pay with credit card but the next day that was not possible -laundry was wet in the morning of the check out and we had to postpone our check out by 2 hours

Prianter is super friendly and gave me a free upgrade to a private room, with a fantastic breakfast as well. He also provided the best canyoning and rafting package deals.

Not an hostel but an amazing and relaxing nature retreat!
