Op Hostelworld wordt deze accommodatie heel hoog aangeschreven maar dat mag wel bijgewerkt worden. Onze verblijf is in de 2 nachten dat we er waren nooit schoongemaakt. De wc was kapot en de airco werkte niet naar behoren. Alles is best wel oud. En de bedden hebben geen gordijnen of iets van een verhoging

Hostel was fine but no water for half of the time we stayed and no wifi either. Didnt think to tell us the wifi or water was going to be off and had to wait 2 hours in wet clothes for the water to turn back on

Ett väldigt simpelt hostel. De var verkligen inte värt priset. Min säng hade en massa kryp i taket, inga gardiner, väldigt små rum med dålig ac och det var väldigt dåligt städat. Det fanns endast en toa i varje rum så det blev väldigt ofta kö. Bra skåp att låsa in sina väskor i och bekväma sängar.

By far my worst hostel experience. Proper party hostel. Can‘t mask this as a „social“ hostel, when most social activities revolve around partying & drinking. Bathroom was absolutely DISGUSTING, as there was no divider between shower and toilet, the floor was always dirty and brown. Bin was also smelly, toiletbrush very dirty. No breakfast. Ants all over the room, bathroom and in the bed. Owner was very disinterested. Just don‘t stay here.

I would not recommend this hostel. When we arrived our room and linen was unclean and there was rubbish left on the beds. Staff were very unhelpful, rude and generally made our stay very unenjoyable and uncomfortable. The rooms do not look like the rooms in the pictures. We did not feel particularly safe in the property either as a group of girls.

I had the worst experience of my travels here, super hot, no ac, mosquitoes and loud music right outside the window we had to have open since the heat in the room

Pretty disappointed with this hostel tbh. The atmosphere was pretty dead, the place feels run down. The picture of the social area must be from years ago, there are bricks and bins in the corner now and no one uses it. The Madiha one is apparently much nicer, just feels like this one is now neglected. The bathroom was pretty grim. This is the worst value for money hostel we've stayed in over our 4 month trip.

Struttura sporca, lenzuola sporche, privo di aria condizionata, letto con la testa che dava sul bagno interno, camera condivisa anche con uomini priva di tende per separarci per la privacy! Chiesto appena arrivata il rimborso perché sono allergica alla polvere e mi è stato negato!

Spindrift was not my best experience in hostel, i booked a private room and the a/c was not working, the toilet was not nice cuz toilet was leaking all the time. I moved to a share room and the bathroom was even worst. Its not much a sociable hostel, there’s not bar to hangout. The important thing its that they have kitchen and u can cook, but there were to many ants (but its ok).

The first night it was very noisy but that depends on who is staying with you. They did not have clean towels to give us so we had to wait till the next day at noon ,the bathroom wasn’t clean, also the beds did not have curtains that I feel like is really important. In the bathroom there wasn’t shelves that would be nice , and more hooks . In the bathroom the window was missing and it was full of mosquitoes , there wasn’t a net at least . All The rest was totally fine.

the hostel was great, the kitchen was good and had everything we needed. there was loads of comfy spaces to chill inside and out. great location anf very comfy beds.

Stayed here for 2 weeks because of how great the hostel is. The facilities were great, including lovely communal spaces, and the activities run by social hosts Jasmine and Ellen were a great way to meet people and make the most of Weligama. The location is really handy, close to the beach, bus station, ATMs, and food shops. Couldn’t recommend staying here more!!

Spindrift in Weli is underwhelming. Staff seems uninterested in their guests, theres no social vibe at the hostel, cash was stolen from our room from two people (staff barely budged to try to fix the situation), my earplugs were stolen, kitchen has low quality supplies (bent knives, no napkins/towels, small fridge). A/C off between 12-5 so good luck napping. No one hangs out with one another in the building. Social hosts are the only good part. Lewis and Ellen are wonderful.

Great hostel in a great location. Comfy beds and a really social atmosphere with daily activities and nights out every day so super easy to meet people and make friends. Strongly recommend

Brilliant social hostel. There were social activities organised every day that involved a mix of day and evening activities such as beach afternoons, surfing, meals out, parties. The social hosts were amazing and made sure everyone felt included. If you like parties there are plenty but also if you don't then there are plenty of other social activites.I would definitely recommend.

I had such an amazing stay at Spindrift Hostel! The vibe is really special, super social and welcoming but still relaxed. It’s easy to meet people, and the staff and volunteers make it feel like a little community! The location is perfect, a short walk to the beach and close to everything on the coast. There’s always something fun going on like beach trips, family dinners, and nights out. Met so many people who extended, and if I’d had more time, I definitely would’ve extended my stay to...

I had a really great stay at this hostel. The atmosphere is very social and it’s easy to meet other travelers. They organize a lot of fun activities, which makes it easy to connect with people and do things together. The location is also great and you can quickly get to many important places. The staff is friendly and everything was well organized. I would definitely come back and highly recommend this hostel.

In general it’s a decent place to stay and the location is great situated next to nice places to eat and the beach is opposite. The room is basic, doesn’t have curtains which I think should be a basic requirement at all hostels and the bathroom was okay. It does the job. I personally felt it wasn’t very social, and it could be the time I was staying there as I know others loved it.

Location is good, they do have social hosts for nights out if interested. Rooms/bathrooms could be cleaner. Comparatively pricy for what you get.

Comfortable hostel, enjoyed our stay

Super chill hostel! Kamers + badkamers worden elke dag schoongemaakt. Personeel is super vriendelijk, heb ook al een paar keer mijn verblijf verlengt :)) social hosts zorgen voor leuke sfeer en er worden elke dag wel activiteiten georganiseerd. Het is een wat kleiner hostel wat ik persoonlijk wel chill vind omdat je iedereen in het hostel makkelijk leert kennen. Locatie is top het is 2 minuten lopen naar het strand en veel lekkere restaurantjes in de buurt. Ik zou het zeker aanraden!!

Very clean and social Hostel

Leider sehr enttäuschend, es mieft überall ein wenig, man hat das Gefühl, dass schon lange nicht mehr wirklich gründlich geputzt wurde. Die Bettlacken waren fleckig, auf einem Bett fehlte die Decke, das Waschbecken hatte ein Loch und unten lief das Wasser raus.

War ok, direkt am Strand. Zimmer aber zu eng und mit den Kisten unter dem Bett zu laut

Very nice hostel. Right by the beach. Good facilities and very good, social atmosphere. Would recommend
