+ La peor estancia que tuve durante mi viaje a costa rica

- -> Me robo la señora -> toallas sucias -> Sabanas manchadas -> Habitacion sucia -> edificio sin mantenimiento -> No hay actividades para socializar -> solo argentinos muy arrogantes que trabajan y al parecen viven ahi. -> Cocina Asquerosa, Con hormigas y animales. De verdad no compres aqui, Pague una cantidad enorme por una habitacion con balcon y era un pasillo compartido de 4 meteos x 4 metros. Me cambie al final a otro hotel y me siento tonta por no haberlo hecho antes.

+ Yoga class, distance to beach and restaurants

- I stayed at this property three years ago when it was still under the Selina brand, and unfortunately it has declined massively since then – especially in terms of cleanliness and overall management. Cleanliness (or lack thereof): This was honestly the most disturbing part of our stay. The towels had multiple stains every single day – some were so disgusting we couldn’t believe they were being handed out as “clean.” We asked for new ones daily, but each set seemed worse than the one before. Our room was also extremely dirty. When we arrived, the bed was full of sand and both the sheets and pillowcases had strange stains. After asking for fresh linens, we received new ones that actually had blood stains on them. Completely unacceptable. Room & Facilities: The “balcony” advertised is actually a shared walkway with the neighboring rooms and doesn’t even have chairs, so it’s basically useless. On top of that, the lock on our balcony door was broken, meaning anyone from the shared space could’ve walked straight into our room. We reported it, and luckily they fixed it the next day. The entire hostel constantly smelled like sewage, which really ruins the atmosphere. The cleaning staff were very kind, but we repeatedly saw them using the same cloth to wipe the kitchen, outdoor terrace, bathroom—everything—without ever rinsing it. The pool was also dirty and full of sand; it honestly looked like the water hadn’t been changed in a long time. Basic utilities: On 2 out of our 4 days there was no running water for hours. One day, there was no electricity for 8 hours. Management: There is a free yoga class in the evenings and the instructor is truly great. She kindly tried to change the loud techno music at the pool to something softer so everyone could enjoy the class. The manager immediately came in and insisted on switching the music back to techno because “it’s a lifestyle hostel,” even though nobody was even at the pool.

- The bed sheets were dirty, and there we cockroaches all over. Asked for a refund, but no help there

- Very dirty, doesn’t look like the pictures. Cockroaches and mold in the room. Blood stains on the sheets :( Party started at 7am right in front of our windows. We had to leave early.

+ Location is near to beach and centrally located in Santa Teresa.

- The room was very moldy, did not feel clean. Lacking towels (we got some when we asked twice so no big deal). The whole place felt like a student dorm, although we did book a private room. The price was way too high in comparison to what you get. Super noisy and nothing worked (water refill for example). Maybe stay here if you want to party and do not care about mold or noise or details, but there are so many other better places around. I regret booking this although it was just for our last night before leaving Santa Teresa. It does not look like the pictures, we feel a bit hotel catfished if that makes sense. The staff was nice so no shade on them.

+ En Año Nuevo, uno de los bartenders nos ofreció shots, y eso fue prácticamente lo único bueno de este hostal, además de la ubicación.

- Por lo demás, estaba sucio: teníamos hormigas rojas enormes por las paredes de la habitación y hasta en el jabón, que además estaba podrido. Las camas eran normales, pero las habitaciones no tenían ventilación, por lo que olían a humedad. Las luces apenas funcionaban y las chicas de recepción no eran muy agradables. Para el precio que pagamos, definitivamente no valió la pena.

+ De locatie is echt top, alles is dichtbij en makkelijk bereikbaar. Ook het zwembad was fijn om even te ontspannen.

- De kamer had helaas insecten (een kakkerlak in bed en veel mieren). De kamer werd wel ingespoten, maar ik kon er daarna gewoon blijven slapen en er werd geen andere kamer aangeboden. Het personeel was niet erg behulpzaam of proactief; bij vragen, zoals over excursies, werd ik verwezen naar online zoeken. Tijdens een hostel event (zonsondergang) hing er weinig sociale sfeer en werden er o.a. wietbrownies gebruikt, wat niet echt mijn vibe was. Ook was er miscommunicatie over het verlengen van mijn verblijf: dit zou bevestigd worden maar was uiteindelijk niet geregeld, waardoor ik last minute extra moest bijbetalen om in mijn privé kamer te blijven. Daarnaast kon de gedeelde badkamer schoner.

- הזמנו מקום בשעה מאוחרת דרך בוקינג, כשהגענו הקבלה הייתה סגורה, פגש אותנו מאבטח שניסה להתקשר למנהל שלא היה זמין. קיבלנו את הכסף חזרה, אבל חישפנו כל הלילה מקום אחר לישון בו. מבאס שניתן לסגור עסקה דרך האתר, ולא לקבל שירות.

+ Jag träffade härliga personer som bodde på hostelet och läget var väldigt bra.

- Personalen där fick mig att må väldigt dåligt mina sista dagar. Jag hade läst och hört om att det enbart är volontärer som ”jobbar” på hostelet och får bo där gratis i utbyte. De var inte alls öppna och trevliga som hostelpersonal vanligtvis är (förutom Avital). Detta påverkade mig inte så mycket men det som var riktigt illa var när jag skulle byta rum pga en incident i mitt dåvarande rum, så var min säng dubbelbokad. Inte bara en gång, utan fyra gånger. Den fjärde gången blev jag lite less då det kändes som att personalen inte hade dubbelkollat och jag var trött på att ha mina egna saker nedslängda på golvet och någon annans i min säng. Istället för att be om ursäkt för det så är personalen otrevliga, arroganta och hånande. Tjejer som sitter och fnissar och viskar bakom receptionen när jag är upprörd. Aldrig upplevt något liknande. Det fanns en säng som var obäddad men ledig i det rummet, då jag inte ville byta rum igen så frågade jag om de bara kunde renbädda den. Men det gör de inte då det är städerskans jobb. Istället fick vi rena sängkläder så vi själva fick byta de. Vilket jag tycker de skulle göra. Misstag kan hända men den där attityden fick mig att räkna ner mina timmar på hostelet. Kommer aldrig någonsin komma tillbaka och jag rekommenderar inte detta hostel. Enda trevliga som jag interagerade med där var Avital och en blond tjej som inte var närvarande under incidenten, men det räcker inte med två trevliga personer. Utöver detta: Det var hål och fläckar på sängkläderna nästan varje gång de blev utbytta. Myror i sängen och kackerlackor i utrymmen där man ska förvara väskor. Dagen då poolfesten skulle vara höll musiken på till efter 01 när det skulle sluta vid 23, så jag fick åka och sova hos en bekant då jag skulle upp tidigt.

- It looks more social than it actually is. Even though there are activities, they tend to be more chill. What really bothered me was how dirty the kitchen is l and the fact that it’s full of RATS. I went to get water during the night and I’ve never seen so many rats in my life. They got into my food because I left some fruit and a bag of oats outside the fridge. It doesn’t seem like the kitchen or the cabinets have been properly cleaned, there was old food, and a lot of rat droppings inside the cabinets. The outside area looks beautiful, but the room I stayed in wasn’t very new. I’m not sure if it was just mine.
