+ Garden was nice but humongous rat in kitchen

- The beds sheets were beyond filthy - they had hairs all over it. Someone probably slept there for a week and they didn't change them at all. Pretty unacceptable.

+ It is clean

- No one there at late night. The door was opened so I can get inside. Despite all the advance notice that I will arrive late, no one in the counter, no cannot reach anyone. The female dorm was not locked, but I cannot check in. So I can only sleep on the lobby floor until around 2am someone finally there

+ Good location. Bed space was comfortable with black out curtains, plug sockets and light. Nice outdoor space with chairs etc

- Where to start- Kitchen is an outside one but was filthy. Grease stained wall, dust on shelves, cooking equipment on the dirty floor. Old dirty towels lying around, finger prints on the outside of a slow cooker. I complained and a staff member spent all night cleaning it. Marginally better but wouldn’t use it except to make a hot drink I’d brought with me and sterilised the cup. Food for serving the guests left uncovered on the side for a few hours. Late on my 3rd night I saw a rat exiting the kitchen. Showers were basic and none to clean. People smoking weed in the garden - no objections on a person level but the smell gave me a headache. There is a road at the end of the garden area they could have used. No idea who was staff until I checked out. Two boxes of my pain medication vanished from my bed space where I had left them. Reported this to the staff - someone had gone into my private space where I had foolishly left them . My fault I should have locked them away but was only in the garden having a cigarette.

+ Upon request, the staff was very helpful and offered advice. Though some advice on transport was outdated (many changes due to floods in previous months). On 1st of January, the hostel invited all for breakfast.

- Occasionally, no toilet paper, no clarification on whether the kitchen is only for staff or not, my bunk bed lamp hang on cables out of the wall, little light in showers, some shower heads need fixing. Not all people were told about the invite for breakfast. My bunk storage box key was missing and people started the research only when I asked.

+ Fine spot sorry of it if the way. Too expensive for what you get

+ チェックインの時間より早く着いたがチェックインをして部屋を使わせてもらえた ベッドにカーテンがついている 部屋にクーラーがある バスタオルがある

- チェックイン時スタッフからなんの説明もない 決済時のレシートがない 部屋の鍵がない(内側からボタンのように押して締めることができ、就寝時部屋の子が締めたらしく夜中に外から締め出された子がドンドンとしていた) 2階にトイレとトイレ兼シャワーが各1ずつ(どちらも女性用)あるがトイレには洗面台がないので手を洗おうとするも兼シャワーのほうにひとが入っていると洗えない 1階にシャワーとトイレが各3ほどあるが狭くあまりきれいには見えなかった(夜覗きに行ったらG×2がいた) シャワーのお湯が出ない(給湯器をオンに〜とか言われるがそもそもシャワールームに給湯器がないタイプの一括管理？でこちらではどうしようもない) キッチンやウォーターサーバーがない(外に軽食を出してくれるカウンター？があったぽいけどなんの説明もなかったし行ってない) Wi-Fiが部屋で繋がらない チェックアウトもスタッフとなんのやりとりもなかったけど(そもそもほぼ受付にいない)返す鍵もないしまあいいのかなと出て行った 掛け布団はなくシーツのような薄い布一枚なので同部屋の人が20度とかに設定していると凍える

+ Helpful staff

- The place looks old and aged compared to the photos. I don't think they change the bedsheet and pillowcase. It felt and smell used, and I think there were bed bugs, had bites on my arm and legs.

+ Está limpio, bastante moderno y todo muy bien la verdad.

- Die Locker unterhalb der Stockbetten waren sehr dreckig.

+ Die Smoothie Ball zum Frühstück ist lecker und reichhaltig. Die Zimmer sind mit AC versehen, was hilft nach der Hitze in der Stadt wieder runterzukühlen. Es gibt ein privates Badezimmer für Frauen.

- Die Küche war während meines Aufenthaltes leider in Umbau, deswegen gab es außer Frühstück kein Essen und die Kaffeemaschine war auch in Reparatur.

+ I had a private room which was beautiful after a long travel day. I highly recommend staying here for 1 night before heading to the south coast.

+ I had a fantastic stay at Alma Hostel and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable, friendly, and well-located place to stay. From the moment I arrived, the staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful, always ready with a smile and great local tips. The hostel itself is clean, cozy, and well-maintained. The rooms are comfortable, with good beds and enough space to relax after a long day. I especially appreciated the attention to cleanliness in both the rooms and common areas. The atmosphere is one of the best parts of Alma Hostel—it’s social without being overwhelming. It’s easy to meet other travelers, whether you're hanging out in the common area or joining activities organized by the hostel. The location is also excellent, with easy access to key attractions, restaurants, and transport options, making it a convenient base for exploring the area. Overall, Alma Hostel offers great value for money with its combination of comfort, cleanliness, and friendly vibes. I would definitely stay here again!
