Papaya Lodge

+ Properly was aesthetically pleasing and well maintained; cool art installations and cool layout. Pools were warm, but this was not surprising given the humidity. Location was great although rooms by the street may are within earshot of weekend nightlife; hotel is only a 5 minute walk to the beach. Beds were comfortable and room was air conditioned. Staff are helpful and are available 24/7.

- Bathroom faucet and shower were in need of improvement. Shower was clogged and shower head didn’t spray water evenly.

+ Great location inside the surf city and able to go party, walk around drink, eat and just enjoy your day around. The breakfast was good.

- They didn’t allow us to bring our own drinks, snacks or any coolers. Said if we get caught we can get taxed with a fee $100! We had to leave everything in the car. BUT! We saw other people who were staying in the property walk in with their coolers and snacks. The staff did not say anything to them. Don’t force it if you will not force this rule with everyone.

+ overall a great town and nice staff. they didn't really attend to my room at all and Tunco Lodge is a cool spot with the world's best guard dog and overseeing angel - Duke. I wouldn't mess with him unless your intentions are good. El Sal and Tunco seem very safe now - drive to town and find a room for cash, that way you won't pay blindly you can find what works for you.

- El Salvadorans from the capital fill the pool and drink all weekend. It's a bit of a sloppy vibe

- Muchas condiciones con respecto a la ropa de cama. Si se mancha las quieren cobrar, un alojamiento debe saber que eso sucede. Es incómodo saber que quieren cobrar cosas que son cotidianas

+ The location was close to the beach and all the shops

- The staff was not friendly. When we had checked out they let us keep the car in the parking lot until 5pm which was good. However when we got back to pick up the car, they ended up charging us $2 to use the bathroom. I thought that was ridiculous. We also felt that we got the worst room in the facility (#6). First of all it didn't look at all like the pictures. Secondly, it was loud all the time; it was in thy lobby next to a pool table next to the gravel parking lot. The noise was constant. And there was no window, technically there's one facing the lobby/pool table but it's frosted with a curtain Friendlier staff would have helped but they were very short and unpleasant. When we first arrived I felt they could have said " welcome, do you have a reservation?" Instead of giving us a rude stern look with a "how can we help you?". It's a hotel! You're suppose to welcome people. This wouldn't be a big deal if it weren't for their child demeanor.

- No disponen de agua caliente…el agua sale natural-fresquita 🥶, no hay colgadores en el baño ni para las toallas ni para el papel higiénico, entra mucha luz por la ventana (a las 5am) unas cortinas estarían genial! En las noches de fin de semana puedes encontrarte sin opción de aparcamiento (aún siendo huésped) porque el parqueo se abre para el resto del público que va a El Tunco

- La verdad muy estrictos como si fuera un hotel de lujo .me cobraron 10 dolares extra por un poquito se mancho la toalla

+ Fijn personeel van alle gemakken voorzien! Niet in de drukte!

- Het matras was ingezakt maar dit hebben ze meteen opgelost met een nieuw matras. Het ligt aan de weg wat voor veel lawaai zorgt! Dus als je een lichte slaper bent kan dat wel lastig zijn! En anders een tip: neem oordoppen mee;).
