(I didn't use a shared room so I can only comment on the private room. ) Overall a bit disappointing having read lots of positive reviews. Main staff/ door man wanst very friendly/welcoming. (I felt on edge every time I came back to the property). Room wasn't cleaned once during a 3 night stay. (Fine if this was hostel price, but the private room wasn't) Location is a bit out of it but you're right by the subway. Security was good, it felt safe.
Receptionniste is a liar and impolite, He try to forced selling the trip to negara with an expensive price. He don't like to open the aircondition to evoid huge Bill of elecricity.
This hostel shouldnt be on Hostelworld's list at all. Doesn't have the vibe of a hostel, more like a cheap motel. Kitchen didn't have paper towels, stairs to the rooms in the basement were near broken, the owner/concierge was up at odd hours talking/yelling loudly, just a strange vibe over all. The owner/concierge had a band of boys at the entrance desk, always yelling. I had a private room for the week and there was no provision for room cleaning after a few days stay. Skip this hostel please.
Sistema de pago confuso. Cobraron la estancia anticipadamente, luego volvieron a cobrarla a la llegada, procediendo a la devolución correspondiente, pero en el proceso se incrementó el precio en 32 €, con lo cual fue más caro de lo acordado en el precio original ofertado. En fin, sólo nos ha pasado en este establecimiento en todo un mes en Canada.
They charged the stay in advance, then recharged it on arrival, proceeding to the corresponding refund, but in the process the price was increased by €32, making it more expensive than agreed in the original price offered.
First visit a few months ago was great but second visit was not. There were bed bugs.
The guy at the reception was so unpleasant and disrespectful, btw I guess others peoples at the reception are nicer , even tough this place more look like a dirty hotel than a hostel. It stink humidity and you can see mushrooms on the bathroom ceiling, rooms are dilapidated… The only good things is that it’s not so far from the downtown…
Te realizan un cargo de verificación de seguridad que según ellos regresan a tú cuenta pero no lo hacen, te cobran más de lo que la app dice y solo aceptan efectivo.. el personal siempre parece de mal humor. Tuve que salir antes para evitar otro cobro extra.. no vuelvo a este hostal es una estafa
Staff extremely unfriendly, threatened me when I came because I didn't understand immediately how the payment worked after a journey of more than 24 hours
I would not stay again simply because the staff is so inconsiderate. They’re always in a bad humor and on my first day I had to work and I arrived 3 hours before checkin asking if I could work from the kitchen or some communal area. The response was an extremely unfriendly no. The internet is so so, the vibe is odd with the staff being so unfriendly. I don’t know, there are other better places to stay.
They only accept cash which is really annoying. Staff was not so warm, and they barely spoke with me. I booked a bed in a 4-bed dormitory, and I was placed in a tiny room for 2 with a window locked, so It was so uncomfortable to air the room.

Alles ist sehr in die Jahre gekommen. Die Betten alt und durchgelegen. Die Zimmer muffig. Es gibt nicht wirklich öffentliche Räume wo man andere treffen kann, keine gemeinsamen Aktivitäten.
Everything has come very much into the years. the beds are old and run down. the rooms are muffig. there are no really public spaces where you can meet others, no common activities.

Amazing spot. Moved from another hostel due to sketchiness and this place was a relief!! Very clean, very friend, very secure. 1000% recommend staying here, don’t bother with other options, I have and this is the best price / location / hostel in town!! Fantastic!!!
WOW We loved our stay here! The host was excellent and very welcoming from the beginning. He let us leave/drop our bags before and after our stay! The room was cosy like a home and was a great escape from hectic Downtown Toronto! The beds were one of the best we’ve slept in for months! Will definitely stay again when in Toronto 🇮🇪🇮🇪
Die Lage ist im Verhältnis zum Preis echt gut, man läuft circa 40min nach Downtown. Das Personal ist auch sehr nett. Es sind zwar Fernseher in den Zimmern, diese funktionieren aber nicht wirklich.
The location is really good for the price, you can walk about 40min to downtown. the staff is also very nice. there are TVs in the rooms, but they don't really work.
The staff is absolutely amazing. They're always there to help you in every way possible. Would highly recommend this hostel to anyone visiting Toronto. The location of the hostel is very centralized and can be easily accessible point in downtown Toronto
This was my first time staying at a hostel and I absolutely loved it. Definitely going to be staying at more for future trips. Nicest staff ever, kitchen for cooking, comfortable beds, great location- everything was perfect!
Good location in on the outskirts of downtown Toronto, opposite a small shopping mall. We had a private room in the basement. It was ok but felt very small due to the low ceiling and it felt quite damp. It was clean although it was old and very worn. Accommodation in Toronto is very expensive and so this was a reasonable price for the location. However, I would not recommend staying for more than a few days and would stay further out of town to get a nicer place for the same price in the future.

Les salles de bains et espaces communs étaient propres. La chambre était ok aussi, j'ai juste vu place à amélioration quand j'ai regardé sous mon lit et qu'il y avait comme un petit tas de riz, mais rien de dégoutant. L'endroit est calme et bien organisé. Il y a un petit mall en face qui est très pratique pour l'épicerie pas chère et la pharmacie.
The bathrooms and common areas were clean. the bedroom was okay too, I just saw room for improvement when I looked under my bed and there was like a little pile of rice, but nothing disgusting. the place is quiet and well organized. there is a small mall across the street which is very convenient for cheap groceries and pharmacy.
More like a low cost hotel than a hostel. Good location, safe & secure, clean. The building is a bit old & shabby looking.
A welcoming, clean and affordable place to stay that is convenient to transit. The staff and facilities are awesome. Highly recommended :)
Bathrooms were always clean but could use a little TLC. Over all a great stay!
Great hostel with comfortable beds. Location is perfect for exploring Toronto - 30 min walk to Eaton centre or Kensington etc. good kitchen, friendly staff. Thankfully, sellby street is quiet at night. Would definitely stay again!
One of the cleanest i’ve stayed in, but the atmosphere could be better
Although a little way from the city centre, the location was nice and great for midnight snacks or grocery trips. Restaurants were close by as well as groceries, drug marts, and many other attractions a short walk away. Staff were friendly and accommodating, definitely more of a chilled out hostel than a hip-happening one filled with pub crawls every night (which is not a bad thing by any means). Worth the money if youre having an extended stay in Toronto rather than just a couple of nights.
