Tishan Hostel

A must in Polonnaruwa. Property was so pretty overlooking a rice field with lots of greenery. Pool was large and had two layers. Staff are friendly. Location was reasonably close to temples/palace. Food, especially the onion soup, was excellent. Prices are great for what you're getting. no dorm rooms but if you are looking for a break from the hostel grind I would highly recommend this place.

Was such a great place! The pool area was amazing, the room was really nice and clean. The owners are very nice and lovely, they prepare great food and even better breakfast. Their english is really amazing too, so they can provide really helpful tipps for your travels :) Just, its rather a hotel than a hostel.

The hosts are adorable, helpful and always there when you need them. We can rent scooter The food is delicious, the biggest and best included breakfast we have seen during our travel The place is beautiful and peaceful. The location of the hostel is 4km from the archaeological museum of Polonnaruwa (the place to buy the tickets for the site). I took a local bus to a bicycle for rent place (about 700 meters north of the museum). It's nice to ride your bicycle to the different sites.The best thing about the hostel is the swimming pool next to the rice fields. It's beautiful led in the evening. They also serve food and fruit juices in the restaurant.

Amazing. Family run business. Staff were really friendly. The pool is fabulous. The room was spacious and the bathroom was very clean and had hot water which was a lovely change to a lot of hostels. Would deffo recommend. Highlight was a lovely cool juice given on arrival.

This place has amazing reviews on booking.com but has only just moved to hostel world. The staff are AMAZING and very friendly and helpful. The food was some of the best I’ve had in Sri Lanka and the portions are huge. Very clean rooms, the pool was so great, AC and hot water were lovely, it’s a hotel rather than hostel so there is not a hostel social atmosphere but if you want a place to relax and unwind then this is perfect. I would definitely stay here again.
