El lugar está en medio de la selva. Estaba sola en una habitación con mucha calor. Por la noche sentí inseguridad porque no vi a nadie. La habitación deja mucho que desear para el precio. Lo siento no repetiría.
The place is in the middle of the jungle. i was alone in a room with a lot of heat. at night i felt insecure because i didn't see anyone. the room leaves a lot to be desired for the price. sorry i wouldn't repeat.
Do not stay here!!! The staff is rude, my bed got soaked when it rained, no water when I wanted to shower, no privacy and no security at all!! Worst hostel I have ever stayed at
This is by far THE WORST place I ever stayed in. IT IS NOT A ROOM BY ANY MEANS! Booked a dorm for 4 nights, took off after 2. its a long hallway with only 3 made up walls and the 4th wall is a CURTAIN, so zero privacy, zero quiet cus people walk outside and its terrible. This place is far from the beach and walking back and forth all day long is a total disaster. M'pay bay in general is a waste of time and one of the worst beaches on the island. Hated this place so bad. Aweful food too.
Booked this place for 5 nights and checked out after 2 nights. Was very disappointed with the location. Bit of a walk to the beach and the beach isn’t the nicest. The rooms and hostel is very eco friendly but no AC, lots of bugs, constantly having power outages and not very private. Staff was helpful and accommodating!
Les lits sont à l’extérieur, mais les moustiquaires sont complètements trouées, je me suis donc faite dévorer par les insectes malgré le répulsif que je mettais plusieurs fois dans la nuit… Pas de casier ni de possibilité de fermer la « chambre » pour les affaires.
The beds are outside, but the mosquito nets are completely holed, so I let myself be eaten by the insects despite the repellent I put on several times during the night... No locker or possibility to close the bedroom for business.
We spent here two nights. The best part of the hostel is the bar and the view. Quiet place, even if there was loud music around, you are far from everything so you’ll be saved. The worst part is the bed. I have my body completely covered by bites of bed bugs, and other guys told me they had the same. So great vibe but poor cleaning.
Beautiful spot for sunset but unfortunately we were not pleased by the rooms or the hostel overall. The private room was crazy hot since there was no air condition. The staff that worked during or stay did not understand any english which made it very hard to comunticate. Very cute & small village on this beautiful island but I would choose another hostel!
Très déçue, aucun tour organisé alors que c’était annoncé à la réservation. Pas facile d’accès, très peu d’interactions et matériel très vieux

I wanted to love this hostel but I just had a horrible stay. The owner and staff are lovely so I don’t want this to reflect too badly on what they’ve managed to build, but I have to be truthful. Due to the hostel dorms being semi outdoors, on the first night I had two stray dogs (no fur, ridden with pusy, bleeding scabs) nest themselves amongst my belongings at the end of my bed. My stuff STUNK for days despite being washed with detergent twice. When I told the hostel owner of the dogs he go...
The location is good for snorkelling and the sunset, both of which you can do whilst staying at a far nicer hostel near by. Bar was good, food was extortionate & not amazing, toilets were vile, dorms were dirty and beyond basic

We spent a week at the hostel. The setting was exceptional: sunsets over the sea, snorkeling accessible directly from the restaurant terrace… One small drawback: the mosquito nets had holes and there was quite a bit of noise at night (dogs, karaoke…).
We loved our stay here! The island is amazing, and you get the best sunset view from the hostel! We stayed in the private room, which was nice. Also really recommend the snorkeling right by the hostel.
The most budget dorm room you'll find on Sanloem. We stayed in the downstairs dorm room closest to the street and I couldn't sleep well for any of the nights as there is no door to the room (just a curtain) so at any moment anyone from the street can just walk into the room. As a female traveler this made me feel uneasy but I was luckily staying in the room together with a male friend. Alone I would've felt unsafe to stay here.
Before you visit ask yourself —- are willing to evolve with the spaces you are travelling to ? Yes ? Then this place is for you. If Koh rong is another spot on SEA checklist that you want to consume then please walk down the road and check yourself in a resort and spare this honest business. It’s a wonderful hostel run by the loveliest folks. Can’t believe this has to be said but stop demanding luxury everywhere, that’s how gentrification starts and it’s already taking a toll on this ...
Nice place, special when you have good weather and also a few more people, was there kind of by my own nice experience but bit of the path, specially I was there the prepared the road so it was not that easy cause it was rainy as well so everything was super slippery, but when it's fixed it will be definitely great for having good snorkeling and nice sunsets
this property is not for the weak😭 yes it has stunning views but the hostel dorms were not okay!! There is one fan per 3 beds, the rooms are CRAZILY too hot. There was stray dogs running around the dorms all night and barking. Frogs, geckos, mozzys which we could hear all night, the mozzy net is full of holes. Idk how people have slept well here or have enjoyed it! I had to leave as soon as I saw daylight to sleep on the beach and move to new hostel. if you’re okay with this then go for it!...

It is incredibly good, I recommend it.
It is VERY cheap and basic. Open dorms, i.e. they have curtains, not walls; and nothing is lockable. And you do have to climb up a hill. But the place is beautiful, the staff is nice, and I honestly really loved my stay here. So it will come with some inconveniences, but I still totaly recommend.
One of my favourite hostels I’ve stayed in Southeast Asia. Great staff, very clean, and as long as you’re okay with an open concept the dorms are great! Super cool spot to vibe.
If you have ever wanted to live in a treehouse overlooking the most beautiful water you’ve ever seen, this place is for you. The common space is comfortable and provides endless opportunities for the perfect picture. The swimming spot off the side of the hostel is better than the beach tbh. Only downside is that the WiFi does not reach to the sleeping area and my locker did not have a door.
Amazing bar on an amazing island! Fantastic views of sunset from bar, and small seafront area at the bottom of the cliff to go snorkelling. Very impressive bar with range of seating, lounge beds and and ‘lookout towers’. Given it’s in an (almost) untouched Cambodian Island facilities are impressive. Eigenlijk vind ik dat dit hostel een te hoge beoordeling krijgt. Het is een heel basic verblijf met een mooi uitzicht en rustige atmosfeer, maar daar is verder ook alles mee gezegd. Niet erg sociaal, insecten netten met gaten erin en de eigenaar geeft je niet echt een welkom gevoel (de vrijwilligers overigens wel). Ik had liever in een van de andere hostels geslapen.
Actually I think this hostel gets an overrated rating. it is a very basic stay with a nice view and quiet atmosphere, but there is also everything else said. not very social, insect nets with holes in and the owner does not really give you a welcome feeling (the volunteers overigens do). i would have preferred to sleep in one of the other hostels.
Weinig privacy en veel geluid door de open slaapzaal, jammer dat er verschillende gaten in het muskietennet zaten waardoor ze weinig hielpen. Personeel is erg vriendelijk, de eigenaar niet zo.
Little privacy and a lot of noise from the open bedroom, unfortunately there were several holes in the mosquito net so they were of little help.
OMG for sure one of the coolest hostels ive stayed at. You are basically sleeping outside which is a cool enough sleeping arrangement as it is. The hostel is very charming and it has legendary lounging area. The bathrooms were clean. Overall a great stay if you like outdoorsy, unconventional stuff.

The hostel was nice and an authentic jungle vibe. The only thing is it does get super hot at night and the rooms are basically outside which no doors, only a small curtain
Beautiful views and the beds were efficient, I felt safe and enjoyed it! Though beds are basically outside but not as bad as people made out to be. Staff were lovely and right by us was a snorkelling place !! Would recommend
I really enjoyed the chill vibe of this place! The view from the balcony was also really beautiful. The room was comfortable and clean. As a solo female traveller, I still felt secure and comfortable with the curtain door situation but understand that some people might not be. The only downside was that the food was a bit expensive and it was further away from the town centre (but definitely still walkable).
Great view, I had No problem with the beds, but just be aware that its just a room with a curtain, so halfway outside. 🌞
Weet dat iedereen kan binnen/buiten lopen in de kamers. Wel een mooie locatie.
Know that anyone can walk in/out of the rooms.
