Staff was weird and lazy, the place is not clean at all, great location et very nice rooftop to hangout

Très compliqué d’avoir de l’eau (il faut demander et nous avons un créneau de 15min pour l’eau chaude..) La lumière ne fonctionne pas.. odeur très désagréable provenant de la salle de bain… très bruyant la nuit… communication compliquée

The vibe at Aldo’s is good thanks to the friendly travelers. But I was kind of grossed out by the hostel otherwise. The rooms are very small and unclean, bed sheets were very stained, garbage never got taken out, and the electricity went out periodically. Everything was pretty disorganized and the staff were not around when I tried to pay multiple times.

Hostel ist schön, Zimmer ok, Frühstück gut. ABER: Touren hier sind absolut nicht zu empfehlen. Uns wurde für eine Lagune 85 „insgesamt“ gesagt, am Ende war es pro Person. Aldo, der Besitzer, hat das komplett ignoriert, null Entschuldigung, sehr unsympathisch. Andere Agenturen nehmen weniger als die Hälfte. Auch Klettern ist überteuert, mit versteckten Kosten und kaum qualifizierten Guides. Touren unbedingt extern buchen!

Aldo's Guesthouse is well located and offers information for tours. You can also borrow equipment. The breakfast is very basic: bread, 2 eggs and 1 avocado per person. But there is a lot off bread so you can take it gor hiking. We had a lot of problems with water and electricity and it was annoying that we had to remind the staff of opening the water tank. The rooms are really basic as well, they don't have windows, the bathrooms are really small. We wouldn't recommend it for a longer stay.

Aldo’s smelt like poop, it was so bad we tried to book a different accommodation. We did not shower because the facilities were so dirty, we felt like we were camping. Aldo himself was not very welcoming or helpful. We should have read the google reviews prior to booking.

I didn't stay here in the end, arrived to human sh*t in the shower floor, and when I asked them to clean it they used a dirty mop bucket and no soap of bleach, wiped the shower floor and bathroom floor with it, and left. 3 of us left the 4 bed dorm and stayed elsewhere. I later heard of many people getting diarrhoea there... no doubt from the lack of cleanliness 😷 They obviously can't help people sh*tting in the shower, but they can clean it properly and safely when it happens.

Great social area, well equipped kitchen and really good breakfast. However rooms weren't good, uncomfortae beds, no natural light in either room I stayed in. Bathrooms were rarely cleaned and in one room the was a big hole in the wall between bathroom and bedroom which gave no privacy. Also was happy to give info, but in general found him to be pretty difficult and unwelcoming. A shame because this place has so much potential

Leider wusste die Rezeption nichts über die angebotenen Touren. Auch hatten die Jungs an der Rezeption generell keine Ahnung von ihrem Job. Ich musste zweimal das Zimmer wechseln, da die Rezeption nicht wusste, welches Zimmer ich gebucht habe.

Very nice hostel! They help you with all the tours and there is free breakfast, bread throughout the day and fruit.

Aldo and his team are the best!!! They helped me to coordinate various trekking trips during my time in Huaraz and even supplied additional warm gear when needed (jacket, pants, boots, etc). The simple DIY breakfast (eggs, avocados, bread, jam, fruit) was a nice treat if you’re around and haven’t left too early in the morning for a hike. Great location with walkable access to bus stations, good food, supermarket, ATMs, and affordable laundry. Hand drawn wall murals were a nice homey touch...

Really treasured my time at Aldos. Aldo is wonderful, as is his hostel. The breakfast, rooms, common areas, and location of the hostel were great. I also booked a two day climb through the hostel which was well organized. I look forward to staying here again in the future.

The hostel is excellent! What really stands out is the owner Aldo, who is really compassionate with his guests and makes sure you get the help needed to experience all the nice activities around Huaraz!

It felt like a home, it was really comfortable and a nice atmosphere. The workers are the sweetest and help you with literally everything you need. They also take care of a social environment but also place to rest. This hostel has everything and I loved my stay here

best included breakfast I've ever had at a hostel. very spacious and comfortable common areas and kitchen. lau dry service actually gave me clean and good smelling clothes. hot showers. always nice to meet the owner as well. Aldo is so knowledgeable on the area and very chill. I wish I could stay longer. I will most certainly be back 🙏🏼

Aldos Hostel is a lovely place. There are so many things to do and Aldo helped me a lot to plan many nice activities and was also an amazing climbing instructor. The common areas are designed with a lot of love and the free breakfast is amazing and gives you all the energy you need for all the great activities you can do around Huaraz. I really enjoyed my stay and can highly recommend. Thank you so much Aldo :))

Clean bedding and easy check in. Delicious DIY breakfast of provided eggs/avocadoes/fruit/bread (ingredients provided, you cook your own food and coordinate around other guests in the kitchen). Multiple jugs of filtered water available. Everyone was friendly and the rooftop patio is a great space to view Huaraz. Only complaints would be that the beds are very firm and the shower could use a better clean BUT would 1000% stay again as it's everything you could need.

100% stay here during your time in Huaraz. The staff were absolutely brilliant, they made it so easy to plan any trek or activity you could possibly want to do. Such a great atmosphere with chill out spaces, a well stocked kitchen and free breakfast. One of the best hostels I’ve ever stayed at :))

Amazing hostel! Aldo is super helpful with everything and anything you may need. He went above and beyond to help us organise hikes and more specifically he helped us find a refugio to stay at during low season (when most are shut). He also helps provide equipment for hikes free of charge. Great breakfast, bedrooms okay.

I had such an incredible stay here! This hostel has a perfect cosy vibe as the common areas all centre around the kitchen making it super social, and there’s puzzles and other games too! The rooms were super clean and warm and the bathroom was clean too. Also there’s so much information available for day hikes and multi-day treks. Free bread, eggs and avos for breakfast is also great. I’d stay again in a heartbeat!

overall very nice hostel. awesome rooftop, nice kitchen, clean bathrooms and nice people. just no A/C in the rooms. thats the only downsite. can highly recommend

Aldo’s guest house was a great hub for Huaraz. Reception was kind and helpful in organizing tours. I did the Santa Cruz trek through them and they helped me with the extra gear. There is also filtered water and fixings for breakfast. I would definitely recommend this hostel for travelers wanting to meet other hikers and get outdoors!
