it was fine and relatively clean there was a dead roach right to my bed tho. It was a bit creepy because no one else was really staying there. The kitchen was very big and clean.

Owners were really friendly and the place itself is also nice! Beds are very comfy, kitchen is well-equiped, nice place to sit outside, and bathrooms are also well maintained. Only downside was that there aren't many people visiting this hostel, so if you're looking for a peace and quiet this is a very good place, but not so much if you want to meet other people

We had a nice stay here whilst at the glowworm caves. There was hardly anyone at the hostel when we visited so had loads of space. Huge kitchen and dining area. Would recommend

We were here overnight just to see the caves. The ensuite twin room was clean, had a small fridge & we could make tea & coffee. It was basic and compact but fine for one night. The walls were thin and some of the water pipes made loud noises. Fortunately it was quiet at night. The staff were very helpful and even tracked us down to return an earring my daughter lost at the nearby resturant!

Basic but comfortable and in a great location for the caves and local walks. Has facilities for a breakfast/lunch but not proper cooking.

Lovely little hostel just near the Waitomo glowworm caves. Location is great as right near a local pub and only a 15 minute drive to a nearby cafe, the property was clean and the staff were very helpful!

I stayed for two nights in a two-bed dorm and ended up having the room all to myself – such a lovely surprise. Lisa, one of the owners, gave me a map of the area which was incredibly helpful and made planning so much easier.The bathrooms and toilets were very clean, a towel was provided (always appreciated!), and the location is perfect for visiting the caves – just a few minutes’ drive away.There’s also a restaurant/pub right behind Kiwipaka with affordable food and drinks, plus a few m...

The owners were the nicest people. Everything was clean. There was much space to chill inside and outside. The vibe was great. Just remember to buy some groceries beforehand because the one store doesnt have much.

The staff is very kind and the place is so relaxing, it was a really good hostel, I will come back!

Staff were so so lovely. This review is overdue. Had a tour to go see the glow worms and didn’t have a car so the receptionist offered to drive me there. Couldn’t have been more grateful. would fully recommend staying here. Nice and clean and the staff members in general even if I hadn’t been given the lift were so lovely.

i loved my stay here! it was quite quiet due to the time of year i was travelling but it was a lovely place and staff were incredibly helpful and friendly.

Would recommend to stay there! Room is small, but got a private room since only a few people stayed there. Was alone on the whole floor. Facilities were clean, room overall acceptable.

Simple and clean. There were fresh towels and a han soap dispenser in the bathroom. The beds were comfy. The kettle and coffee or tea were nice. Some suggestions would be to have more than one spoon and some dish soap and towel.

I was almost the only person staying there so there was no atmosphere but my stay was otherwise fantastic! Ample parking, dorm room to myself, large kitchen/living room. Great place to reset for a night.
