I will quickly take action against the site for gross misrepresentation of this property. (not the hostel) You people are criminals. Bedding sucked. Facilities sucked. Location was a work zone(hi-rise construction ongoing outside the windows). Never again. This parallels numerous other comments online. site online to be AVOIDED!!!!

Full review on Google. Long story short, not accurately depicted in photos. Out of date and in desperate need of a deep clean and updating. Details are lacking, as is security. Mattress was all springs, construction next door very loud. Cafe and patio/outdoor space is sad. Kitchen is small, old and also very sad. The bathrooms are very dirty, The pillows are flat. The beds are noisy. The kitchen is also very very dirty. There is not enough space to seat down to eat.

I didn’t really enjoy staying here. The hostel is doing the wrong advertising on HostelWorld! The smell in the room was intolerable. There was zero social activity and even no common area for guests to meet other guests. They close the common area at 3 pm, which is sad because this is the first time in my many hostel experiences that I didn’t enjoy. If you are going to this hostel thinking you will meet new people, it’s not the right place. I don’t know how the vibe will be during summer...

Unsure were the positive comments coming from? pictures do not match Firstly this is not a hostel it’s some sort of halfway house. Location: terrible unsafe. Cleanliness: abysmal. Very run down OMG the smell! I left a few days ago and it is still sadly a vivid memory. Kitchen next to the bedroom smell of cooking meat, was so disgusting but sort of helped and I am vegan! Tiny common space, no charging points. Overcrowded. I literally hated every second, only had 500 word limit! Terrible

Location is a bit far. Not their fault but to be noted. The door did not close unless pulled close, anyone could go in. There was mold on the shower curtains. One bathroom door would not close unless forcibly closed. At which point could not be opened from the inside. Another guest and to open for me. The "cafe" is more like a hangout for recovering addicts. There is nowhere to secure luggage, you can leave it in the common room downstairs

The room I was in was overly heated, my phone got a warning saying it couldn't charge until it returned to a normal temperature. This was in may when it was snowing outside. I asked a housekeeper but they said the heating was always very hot in that room (I think room 6) and it couldn't be turned down. Overall, would have been nice but unbearable temperature to sleep in (I would guess around 35 degrees)

I have stayed in many hostels and would not recommend this one. It is an old building with single pane windows, which was very cold in the winter. There was a heater in my room, but I had no control on the heat, so ended up sleeping in my clothes to keep warm. I could not ask a staff member for help as no one is working during the night, so you are on your own. The facilities are old and not worth the money you pay.

Felt like I was gonna get stabbed or mugged the entire time. Trash everywhere including on the stairs to exit. Never introduced to staff because of an event they were running and there was no front desk i found. Cut my stay short by one night because was too spooked to get a hotel. Avoid at all costs as a solo traveller. This may be the worst place I’ve stayed in.

Facilities are good, friendly atmosphere, but the bed in room 3 needs to be replaced. It makes a U shape and felt the bars from the frame - did not sleep well.

One of the best hostels I've had the pleasure of staying in! The staff are all so nice and the cafe downstairs is amazing. Perfect little spot on Halifax to travel on a budget, highly recommend!

The bed in room 5 is a disaster, nonsense without end and right at the window to the street, sleeping well is something else.

It's on the bus route, but the neighborhood is run down. Construction begins before 8 a.m. The beds are old; mine had a wire you could feel under your back. The staff is great. But for the money, keep shopping.

Great location in Halifax, wedged right between downtown and North Hali, with a bus away from Dartmouth and a ferry to Woodside. Will most likely come back to visit for a week to experience more of the surrounding areas around Halifax!

Great vibe, no privacy in terms of curtains but no issues regardless. Café on-site is very convenient!

Halifax does not have a lot of hostels, but this one was a good one. Was very satisfied. Food was enjoyable too.

It's a good hostel. But, compared to other hostelword hostels I have stayed, it is average. Mostly in terms of cleanliness. Convenient location. Parking is not provided. But, street parking is kinda free. I did park my car on street. Didn't got any ticket. Other facilities are good. Kitchen, small restaurant etc.

Great hostel, loved the stay and experience. The people are what make this hostel, a huge shout out to Shanny, Molly, Lina, and all for their kind welcome and friendliness. Looking forward to going back next time! :))
