It was ok but only 2 bathrooms and I had to wait 30mins in the morning to use the bathroom.

If I would stay for long-term in Hammer Springs and I had to stay in a hostel, I would stay here. This place has a feeling of a home. It was warm and cozy.
It’s a lovely place to stay! I really enjoyed it there. Tristan and Yoko are so kind and helpful with everything you need. There are no lockers, but Hanmer is a very safe place, so don’t need to worry. The premises have been very clean and well equipped. There are only two bathrooms with a shower and toilet each for all guests. Totally recommend it!

Beautiful location, 5 minute walk from the springs, very trustworthy and hosts were lovely and welcoming! Had the whole room to myself as well. Definitely recommend if you are on the fence
Special one for me as there was no-one else that day. I could feel a very cosy weekend getaway vibe there. The owner was super friendly, helpful where he could. The shower is lacking good water flow when, which was a bit irritating to be honest. You could shower, but it took some time.
Lovely small hostel. Met some nice ladies on a hiking trip there. Everything was clean. Would stay there again if I’m in Hanmer again.

cosy and friendly hostel! the staff are lovely and very helpful. a very homely hostel and a nice change from more clinical bigger hostels. right in the centre of town so very well located would definitely recommend
Really friendly place, great location and good facilities.
So super cosy and relaxed, comfortable beds as well. I went for one night and it was just ideal. The real fire was a bonus. Kitchen was super clean although I didn't use it personally. Bathrooms were also SO lovely as far as hostel bathrooms go, and very clean. Walking distance from everything in Hanmer (although it's a small.place so hard not to be). Great value for money, thank you Tristan an Yoko!
one of the best hostels I've been in, friendly and helpful staff. the dorm for five people was comfortable. The only downside may be that there is just one stove in the kitchen but that wasn't a problem at all.
Really cozy hostel. Tough there are only two bathrooms for up to 22 people which became a problem multiple times. The kitchen is also rather small but as with any hostel you just have to time it. Something not listed on the website is that you cannot stay at the hostel before check-in and after check-out (you can pay 5 dollars) which makes sense as the hostel is small. Just bear that in mind. The owners are really nice and helpful.

Perfect small little stay in the town. The staff is very friendly with lots of local recommendations to do and places to eat. Free use of massage chair was a plus. Very clean as well
Really nice wooden hostel :) good atmosphere, nice staff, nice single beds in the dorms, cozy lounge area. Super central and overall a nice and warm place to stay :) highly recommend!
I absolutely loved my stay at Hanmer Backpackers! Very clean, extremely friendly staff, cozy place with fireplace and a massage chair to relax after a long day! It feels like being at home while staying at this mountain cabin-like accommodation. I would always come back and highly recommend staying there!

We loved our stay at Hanmer backpackers and would definitely go back. It was a great location and also a beautiful, clean, cosy place to stay that also had plenty of room and great facilities for a smaller backpackers. Would highly recommend to other people. Yoko was great too
