Thien Phu Hostel

The property wasnt clean and the private room was not comfortable. The family who own it are amazing though. The mother let me in at 4:30am the day before I had booked and then the daughter helped me with sorting a bike to rent the next day. I feel bad saying the property wasnt great because the family were amazing though

I payed from the private room but it smelled of damp. All tho the mum of three was nice, the lady downstairs, because they have a shop overcharged me for water and small snacks. So, be careful.

Very helpful and friendly staff but the hostel itself is pretty dirty. Beds are v squeaky and windows don’t lock. Didn’t get the free breakfast but maybe just missed it? Didn’t see any other people there either

Lovely owners! The daughter was super helpful, even cooked our breakfast early to take on our bus in the morning!

Really nice staff! Helped us a lot with everything and made a late check-in (even at 3am) possible. We were really happy that we chose this hostel run by a lovely family:)

Give it a miss

The positives are that its a great location, and its cheap. However, you can find cheaper, and they will be nicer. This was definitely the dirtiest hostel/hotel we've ever stayed in. Im not sure if they wash the bedsheets but if they do, theres a problem in the washing machine. They are stained and have all sorts of debris on. We are pretty budget backpackers with quite low standards, but we would not book to stay here again. They did make us breakfast one morning which was nice.

We stayed here for one night for a quick stop on Phong Nha. The hostel owner was very helpful and helped us book our tour before we arrived and our onward bus. Free breakfast was included too.

i had emailed in advance that I would be showing up early in the morning so there would be someone to check me in. However I had to search for where someone was to check me in so I could go to bed because I showed up at 3am. The beds do not look like how they are advertised and I got bad bed bugs from staying here. It generally felt unclean and I would not choose to stay here again
