There was no reception unlike the 24/7 reception they claim and their phone number on hostelworld is incorrect. finally got the number and they guided me into my room in a empty hostel over the phone. the lock was broken and I was stuck for an hour inside this room with my bags outside someone working could arrive to help. I left immediately to another place

This hostel is in a great location and has a great vibe with tropical trees and hammock, and the staff was really nice and tried to accommodate me. But the mattresses are uncomfortable and defiantly need an upgrade, and aside from the toilets being clean, the kitchen area, the showers and the rooms were not really attended to. I think this place has so much potential but it feels a bit abandoned. They probably should step it up or lower the price.

There is a dead rat or something in the kitchen, it smells putrid. There’s no way to cook because the kitchen only has a microwave and kitchenware is really gross. No one cleaned the toilets for the 3 days I was there (there was pee on the toilet seats that was perpetually there). The shower drain is clogged so the room floods when you shower. The room itself was fine, just very basic. Anyone can just walk into the hostel through a gate that no one watches. Location was very good though.

The location is good. Not direct at the lagoon but at the small park. The beds are okay. It can be cold in the night because of the outside. The kitchen is really small. They only have a microwave. Outside area to Hangout is not used a lot. It only has one hammock. The structure of the outside area doesn't really encourage connecting with others. It misses a lot of details.

The staff was really nice. I was the only traveler. The toilets and bedroom wasn't clean enough I think. During the night I heard dog barking and during the morning motors of people cleaning the street. The air conditioning didn't turn on. It's a cheaper place than other hostels in Bacalar.

Friendly and helpful staff. Excellent location right across from the town square and walking distance to the lagoon pier.

Super lieve mensen die hier werken en mij met alles hielpen. Ik sliep hier als enige, dus was hier niet zo veel te doen.

Live the hammocks

Un lugar bonito y bien ubicado. Me sentí muy a gusto. ✅ Excelente ubicación ✅ Tiene aire acondicionado ✅ Tiene lockers con llave ✅ Tranquilo, ideal para quienes NO buscan party hostel ✅ Proveen toalla para ducharse ✅ Hay dispensador de agua gratis SUGERENCIAS: > Llevar linterna, porque la luz es demasiado tenue. > Llevar tapaojos, porque entra luz por la mañana. > La cabaña compartida es muy pequeña para 4 personas. No sé si entra el equipaje de tanta gente.

Good space, with some minor improvements it could be great. What I liked: nice garden space with hammocks. Shower was hot. Ac worked perfectly. Nice and close to the water. What could be improved are small things, by the time whoever is reading this reads it, they may have done it already. All this applies the private room. Put mirrors in the bathroom. More shelf space to set luggage etc. More hooks to hang towels. Supply towels. A place outside to hang swim suits etc to dry. Lizard droppings.

Incredible hostel in the center of Bacalar. Nice room and a shared garden to hang out. Hot water in the shower and good wifi. The owners are really nice people and will make sure you have a great stay.
