Schrottiges hostel Schimmelige Zimmer. Ranzige Betten. Eine! Einzige Gabel gab es in der Küche. Pfannen übelst zerkratzt und ranzig. Duschen im 2.OG klein und schimmelig. Mitarbeiter waren super nett.

I arrived late at night and the person at the desk was nice. I went up to my room, the hallway felt like it was about to cave in and it smelled like beer. My room was too hot and I couldn’t adjust the radiator, and the window wouldn’t open(I also wouldn’t have opened it because I was in a sketchy part of town) I was in a girls only room which was above the pub and the music went into the night until 3am karaoke and bass pumping. The front desk staff weren’t very welcoming and were very short with us. We saw a rat in the restaurant down stairs. There’s a weird smell throughout the property including the bedrooms which soaked into our luggage so much that all of our belongings needed washed. They have indoor cats so the common areas smell like cat urine. The showers are so small you can barely fit inside them. We left a night early and were refused a refund for our last night. The property is very overpriced.

I would not stay here again. I didn’t look at the reviews but I was on the 1st floor and all I could hear loud music from the bar all night. I personally feel that the bar should be a bit more respectful knowing that there are people upstairs sleeping but it is what it is. Staff are okay and at least you have to have a fob to get upstairs so I felt safe. Also there’s only 2 showers and toilets and bathrooms are small. But wont stay here again. Stupid ignorant impolite Philippine staff, didn't listen to any asks, even threat to kick me out.Too noisy to sleep, cause a club is downstairs, floors were pounding like a drum even at 3am.

The room had fallen ceiling cracks, outlets detached from the wall and a window that didn’t close (30 cm) leading to an accessible alleyway which as a group of three girls felt unsafe and not worth the $400 we paid for a night.

After 2 months of hostels in Canada, this hostel was the worst I could book... No privacy, no lamp or shelf at each bed, really hot in the room, not to mention the noise you can hear from the bar downstairs until late... In short, you just book a bed here and have no other service, or really any comfort! I found it really expensive for the service offered. You pay for the location in the city center and that's it!

This building hasn't seen maintenance since it's establishment in 1897. It's an absolute ripoff. Beds are light and poor quality. Ceiling looks like a rotten swamp. Window frames hardly any paint on it. Rooms smelly and moist and no ventilation whatsoever except for a small window you can open. Floors are worn out and very dirty in corners and around radiators. Showers are too small and you can't dry yourself without stepping into the pathway required to reach other showers. Bed linen was dirty.

Could use a renovation as for the rooms beds and bedding

Really nice place to stay! Super close to all the shops downtown and close to the train station. Friendly people, great if you’re looking to meet other travellers!

Eigentlich ein gutes Hostel da man vorher weiß das es sehr laut wird durch die Bar darunter. Leider muss ich die Betten bemängeln die sind sehr „leicht“ also bei jeder kleinsten Bewegung wackelt das ganze Bett. Aber ansonsten in Ordnung!

First time ever in BC... great staff.. nice place... met so many people and enjoyed it all... hard to sleep on Karaoke night downstairs so if ya cant beat em join em... made friends galore... unforgettable trip and lasting memories to take back to Ottawa... 10 outta 10!

There is a the (Cambie Bar) on the (1)Floor, the music is very loud, the Cambie Bar is nice to go there and they do give if your staying at the Hostel 20% off food and Drinks that is very nice of them. On the First floor of towards the Kitchen there is (2) cats that are not on the site when you come in and register in the Hostel, they should let you know about it. I just had a issue of the (Heat ) was not working or they just shut it off! to save money, not sure but it was very cold, Love it.

Really nice location, friendly staff, nice showers, and cool hostel mates. I would highly recommend. The common area and the kitchen are nice and usable and the cats - George and Charlie - are adorable. The cats are on the 2nd floor only. My only complaint was someone ate my food in the refrigerator and put my food in the free bottom shelf on the fridge. No biggie, just copy the other hostel folks and put all your food in a brown paper bag to hide contents and you're good.

The hostel was at a great location. However, it was very stuffy and kept to the simplest terms. Underneath the hostel was a bar playing loud music, and as the building was old it felt like you were in the bar as walls were thin. In addition, the kitchen trashcan didn’t have a lid which lead to all kitchen trash smells travelling through the corridors. The room was okay, but overal cleanliness left something to be desired.

I had a good time here. The staff were nice, the location is super convenient, and the value is fantastic for what you pay. That said, if you need a quiet place in order to sleep - do NOT come here. The bar downstairs is extremely loud, and it's open until 3am or so. You can feel the bass in your bones, and I mean that. Come prepared with good earplugs and a hostel mindset, and you'll be fine, but they should really be more clear about this in the description. I can imagine a lot of angry guests

The hostel is in a great location and the staff members are nice. The only problem I had is the noises coming from the bar below the rooms until late night. It was hard to sleep.

Great place, well maintained and clean. The bar downstairs can be loud. Overall good value. The laundry is a great convenience and fairly priced.

As long as you are not afraid to sleep over a club this hostel is perfect, very well placed, but doesn’t provide free breakfast or free towels.

By far the most affordable hostel in Vancouver for a reason. Location is stellar, but it is LOUD. Music thumping through the floors, so loud you can hear it through earplugs loud. Until two in the morning. If you are planning to stay up that late or stay out that late, it's a great choice-good common area, good vibes, nice cheap drinks, and mostly clean facilities. If you like to go to bed any time before midnight, though, I'd stay somewhere else.

Lovely staff, great location, good for a night out, can be a little loud at night but other than that 10/10
