Aussitel Backpackers

Very very dirty and just didn’t feel safe. There were brown spots on the bed and bugs in the room. I left after 1 hour and went to another hostel, the personell was nice tough and gave me a full refund.

I wouldn’t go there again… Didn’t feel safe at all. It was moldy and stinky and dirty everywhere…

the owner of this hostel was so unfriendly & always complained about every single thing. she always threatened having to pay extra fees because of nothing & she really didn't like girls! many weird people chilled there & the atmosphere wasn't that nice.

The owner was very sweet and helpful. The hostel was just not very clean and the fan in our room didn’t work, so it got really hot.

Not in a hurry to stay again. The rooms and hallways smelt of cigarette, including the linen that I was given. I stayed in a 6 bed dorm, and it was fine, however would probably get quite hot in summer. The bathrooms were very very mouldy. The location is good if you don’t have a car, beach and restaurants nearby. No alcohol on site, which was fine for me.

To start with the good features of Aussitel, its really good located and you can get to all places by foot within half an hour max. It also has lockers and seems to be safe in general. The staff is friendly. When I was there it was very dirty. Even if I saw someone cleaning all surfaces of my room were dusty and sticky... It smelled baldly (kind of old v***t) and in the kitchen were dirty dishes nobody cared about.

No locks in the showers was weird. The hostel was overall ok and common areas are nice. maybe implementing a charging point and a light next to each bed would be nice too.

My room was super dirty when i checked in and I was the only one in my dorm so its wasnt from any other guest. The kitchen was disgusting. Toilets smelled like the opposite of a bouquet of roses and there was no functioning looks on the stalls. Pretty boring place and atmosphere was just off. I checked out early.

owner was super helpful and friendly! the facilities were okay but cleanliness was low as was security. wouldn’t recommend staying for more than a few days

General ok. The lady as a receptionist or owner I don't know, wasn't the friendliest in the world, but it's how a lot of people in hostels are in Australia, I don't know why. Generally it was Ok, I just spent one night there on my way up from Sydney to the Sunny Coast so I didn't spend a lot of time. The environment, chilling area and kitchen were nice.

Great cute place. Super friendly staff who even accommodated for us arriving at 5:30am. the place has a pool and is only a 10 minute walk from the beach. the kitchen and bedrooms were clean but the bathrooms were a bit dirty and none of the showers lock in both the men’s and women’s. But overall nice place.

Cheap, Yes. Friendly, Over and above, we arrived at 1.30am and were still Welcomed. OUTSTANDING! It has Everything that is needed, Friendly guests, Staff were Over and Above. I Will Be Back.

Good hostel. Free surfboards!!! Noce staff and decent kitchen. Alot of flies tho

Although not many people were here during my visit, the hostel manager was fantastic - very friendly and helpful with great customer service. I look forward to coming bank!

Friendly helpful team and hostel has a lovely pool. Well equipped kitchen and fab games cupboard (don’t let the orange explosive sign put you off - Aussie humour) which is near the pool behind the bedding table. Had an awesome time … Thanks Pete and all the Aussitel team behind the scene (including the guy who gets kitchen sorted only for 25 backpackers to mess it up 😂.. not me .. never 😂) Ps: only ask is a fix of the one or two mozzie window protectors (put towel in)

Good vibes and it was nice and quiet change from Byron. I liked that I had the space to really rest. Would come back!

Not great location to the greyhound but does have free kayaks and is near the beach .

If you’re a backpacker, don’t go here. Most people who live here are working and staying long stay at the hostel. Also, there were so many flies in the kitchen and we saw silverfishes around the kitchen supplies… The showers were moldy and there were lots of flies in the showers. The atmosphere was not nice. It’s better to stay in woolgoogla and take the bus to visit coffs for a day trip rather than staying at Aussitel.
