Kiwi Backpackers Hostel Pokhara

BE AWARE! BED BUGS! Don’t go to this hostel. There are bedbugs in at least 3 rooms!

This Hostel right now has a virus or bacterial infection going on because about every person there has or had vomiting and diarrhea. People say that it is like that since a month. My friend also had it and had to be admitted to the hospital. The staff is lying about it telling she would be the only one, however nearly every person I met there also had it. I would strongly advice this hospital to close for a week and deep clean everything. Don‘t go there right now!

Good location and facilities but very overrated, just feels fake overall. half of the guest were americans and australians staying long term, we had to hear their far right opinions sometimes, quite ironic when you have a sign at the entrance saying no to racism. The activities are overpriced, 30$ for a walking tour is crazy. Some of the staff don’t want to give informations because they only want to sell activities. The rooftop is nice but there is nothing to have fun, just chairs and beer...

kiwi backpackers was good vibes and I met some great people. my issues were the dorms are too hot they need individual bed fans and ac in all rooms. pokhara is hot and the heat doesn't let you sleep at night. also after our group of 5 came back from a 3 day trek we got 3 private rooms with SO MANY BED BUDS on them we left immediately complained to the owner and he was not having it,he did give our money back though. so be aware of bugs before you go there.

AWARE - BEG BUGS Please be aware there are currently bed bugs in the 8-person dorm. DO NOT book this room. Cleanliness of the rooms and bathrooms also less than desirable. Otherwise, great social environment and roof top.

Honestly as a fellow kiwi it disappoints me to say that this is simply not it. The staff are great but the building is old, dirty, and the facilities are piss poor including the bedding. This hostel has no affiliation to New Zealanders and it shows. There is a SIGNIFICANTLY better hostel next door. I have been staying at this SIGNIFICANTLY better hostel for a few weeks now and suggest you do the same. A friend also got bed bug bites at Kiwi.

I did not find so comfortable The big rooms.

Been there for several times. There are a lot of people (getting) sick on this place (heard also same stories about other periods). It’s just an observation, don’t know what is is, maybe the water or the hygiene in the hostel (shared toilets were very dirty sometimes, during the whole day, don’t know the cleaning policy/products) or just restaurants in the surroundings who are spreading food poisoning. People and staff are very nice, rooms as well, so that’s positive.

this is hostel was overall fine! Though the common area is not very accessible and social. it does not provide food, only breakfast, which was very good though! the bar opens at roughly 17.00 so no coffees during the day. i guess its things i got used to at other hostels, that this one didnt have. but no reason for it to be a bad hostel!

One of my favorite hostels I’ve been to. Super social - between breakfast in the morning and hanging on the rooftop in the evening, it’s really easy to meet people. Also clean and the staff is amazing.

A really nice hostel. the yoga classes were really nice, and the hammocks on the rooftop, it’s quite social if you want to meet people in the evening or at breakfast. It was busy when I wanted to extend my stay for a night, but it was full, so I recommend booking ahead of time. The breakfast was quite slow, so consider this if you are in a rush in the mornings. Nice no complaints besides the fact that the breakfast is a bit small and not the best coffee. Great nature/atmosphere

Came back to kiwi multiple times because of how great the staff were. Bipsy, maya and powan were so much fun to hang around and the most helpful. The hostel itself was super nice, breakfast was tasty, and the view on the roof bar was great especially in the morning.

Best location in Pokhara right by shops and restaurants (not 15 minutes walk as someone wrongly said!). The lady at reception was very welcoming and kind. Ac worked well and so did the hot shower. The most social hostel in Pokhara. Breakfast was oatmeal with banana and boiled egg and a chocolate croissant and coffee or tea. Was perfect. Very near is a gear rental place they vouch for.

The bar and breakfast are really good opportunities to meet people in general and for trekking. Hot shower 24hr is great. The 4 and 6 bed dorms are really good but the 8 bed is fairly cramped. Staff are nice.

We had the most beautiful room and the team were so friendly.

Sweet place to meet some people and get to know Pokhara better. Good included breakfast which changes every day and very nice stuff:)

Absolutely amazing hostel, very social vibe and the staff is amazing and energetic as well. I had gotten ill and they did the most that they could to help accommodate me and I will be forever grateful. If staying in Pokhara I couldn’t recommend Kiwi backpackers enough.

The best place in pokhara

A great base for exploring Pokhara, good location and nice looking hostel. The rooms were comfortable and clean with good storage. The staff can organise travel and excursions for you and are friendly and helpful, however the reception is not open 24 hours. One night we needed an icepack and the security guard was not able to help, luckily the bar had some. I also wouldn't recommend the washing service, we used it twice and both times we got the wrong stuff back and it smelt bad

Everything was excellent!! Nice please to stay for few days !!
