Jaca Hostel Porto da Cruz

Great location & the staff are very sweet and nice but for the price of this hostel it was very disappointing. The beds are super uncomfortable and if you’re on the top bunk they shake so much. They’re not secure at all and super loud. The lockers are tiny. And the bathrooms didn’t feel very clean. The whole time I was there the bathroom mat in en-suite bathroom stayed soaking wet and wasn’t changed.

Toilet was broken upstairs, the bathroom was'nt clean at all and the kitchen was full of dirty dishes all time. No air conditionning in rooms so it was pretty hot even at night. Other than that, the staff was nice.

I wish I could give this higher. Cause the staff were great and I had a great trip regardless. But I stayed in bed number 7 in the loft. And because they’ve got fly nets on the windows and doors I can only assume that my bed is covered in bed bug bites. The indoor bathrooms were dirty. The outdoor shower was probably the best one. The staff were lovely and they did a burger night whilst I was there which was a big success. Wish I could give a higher rating but I can not.

Really cute and chill hostel. Lovely staff. I do think the hostel is lacking a bit for the price point though. No lockers to put luggage in in the rooms, bathrooms were pretty dirty with sopping wet bath mats on the ground for multiple days. I know hostel bathrooms aren't always going to be top notch, but I'd expect a little cleaner and at least some lockers for 60 euro a night.

Jaca Hostel in Porto da Cruz was a great stop in my journey through Madeira! The hosts were welcoming and helpful. Additionally the other travelers were very kind and respectful. As a solo female traveler who stayed in a women’s dorm and mixed dorm, I always felt safe and comfortable here. I would stay again.

Super hostel, seulement douche et toilette pas tiptop niveau propreté.. cuisine est ok. Sinon très bien placé, bon prix et espace extérieur aussu.

Great place to stay

It was a short stay. Nice little hostel in Porto Da Cruz. It was ok, nothing exceptional.

If you are looking for a chill hostel this is it. Do your own thing or hang out and have a beer in the evening and chat. I enjoyed my day there. Surfers paradise.

Superbe auberge de jeunesse, bien située, dans laquelle on se sent à l'aise, qui favorise les échanges. Beaux locaux, propre, adaptés.

Guys if you wanna have the most INCREDIBLE Hostel experience ever then GO to this place!! The staff and the guests were super cool, I had so much fun, the vibe overall was really special to me… It’s such a peaceful place and you get integrated by everyone RIGHT away, I felt so welcome and at home

Best hostel on Madeira! I would definitely stay here again. Kevin is extremely helpful and also makes sure everyone feels welcome and included.

We had an incredible stay at Jaca Hostel. It truly felt like being at a friend’s house. The vibes were amazing and the location is perfect. A huge shoutout to the manager Kevin and Lewis, who were absolutely amazing throughout our stay. The draft beer on site made it even better. We would go back in a heartbeat.

I want to share my experience here and say that it was an awsome hostel to be staying in Madeira. The staff is so helpful, really present to solve an issue if one is presented and would even share time with you if you vibe well enough. Clean places and for my experience in dorms people were mindful of the noise and I could sleep well ! Thank to Jaca I experienced a deeper part of Madeira and might some truly kind people. If I go back to Madeira I'll definitely book there again !

Great place to stay

Great location and cozy shared areas. Dorms could use larger lockers and some hooks to hang things up to keep room tidy. Very friendly and helpful staff (in person and by email). Bring some indoor slippers as outdoor shoes are left by the door which keeps everything very clean inside.

I really enjoyed my stay there, the staff was really helpful and friendly. I would recommend definitely for solo travelers to check out this place. Nice welcoming atmosphere 😍
