El hostel parece lindo pero si te toca la habitacion hippie house se pasa mal. Había hormigas o algo que se desprende del Techo que hace picar. No lo recomiendo
The hostel looks nice but if you touch the hippie house room it goes bad. there were ants or something that comes off the ceiling that makes it itch. i don't recommend it
L’hostel est vraiment pas propre. Les lavabos sont bouchés, il y a de la moisissure un peu partout… les chambres sont toujours ouvertes. On entend les voitures passer la nuit comme si c’était dans le chambre… il n’y a pas de cuisine et le premier jour le restaurant était fermé à 20h, il pleuvait et l’hostel est excentré… bref je ne recommande pas!
The hostel is really not clean. The toilets are clogged, there is mold everywhere... the rooms are always open. you can hear the cars spending the night as if it were in the bedroom... there is no kitchen and the first day the restaurant was closed at 8pm, it was raining and the hostel is eccentric... in short I do not recommend!
5 people I have spoken to have been stolen from in this hostel. 2 credit cards which then had been used to buy things, earrings and jewellery, 100 euro, a novel I was reading had 200 real in it and the book disappeared and a glasses case I had with my spare glasses and 60 USD was taken. This was over a period of over 2 weeks so it cannot have just been the same hostel guest stealing items. To much mosquito in the room
Friendly staff, nice people but the room was a shed. Mosquitoes everywhere, constantly bitten during the night and the bathroom was a little gross. Constantly bitten in the shower too.
I stayed at this hostel for just two nights a month ago. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful—they really try to make your stay enjoyable. However, there are some issues to be aware of. The only common area is outdoors. The swimming pool has very limited opening hours (11:00–18:00), so I wasn’t able to use it. Besides the amazing outside of the hostel I think it’s a pretty s***** hostel. The staff is friendly, but they can’t help you with anything. They don’t know anything if it comes to busdrives, routes, times and tickets. In my opinion being able to help your guests with these type of practical things is essential if you’re working at a hostel. They also charge you for a blanket and the hostel is not social; they don’t organize any activities. The dorms are super basic. Breakfast is allri...
If it's cold at night and you would like a blanket, you have to pay. If you don't finish the breakfast that's included in the price, you pay a "waste fee". In 20 years of travelling, I've never known a hostel as money hungry as this one. There are much better hostel options around than this one in Paraty.
I think this hostel scores high because the pool is nice and big and the outside area is generally nice. However I was not happy with my dorm. Very basic bunk beds, with no personal charging ports. The room was very small for 5 people. It was uncomfortably hot and the AC did not work. I was unable to sleep so checked out early.

Such a nice hostel, breakfast included, the pool is incredible. Lush and greenery everywhere whilst being in town within 10 minutes. Highly recommend this hostel to anyone who’s craving some chill time.

Enorm fijn welkom geheten door Juan, hij laat iedereen enorm welkom voelen. De locatie is geweldig, met de enorme tuin en het zwembad. Het dorp is 10 minuutjes lopen, net zoals het strand.
The location is great, with the huge garden and the swimming pool. the village is 10 minutes walk, just like the beach.

Had a really good stay at Casa Viva - The hostel is great, clean... The staff is absolutely lovely and the pool is ENORMOUS. Would come back without hesitation.

Het personeel van het hostel is erg aardig en behulpzaam! Ook was het fijn dat er naast het zwembad veel zitmogelijkheden waren, waar je gezellig met elkaar kon chillen. Het ontbijt dat is in begrepen is alleen een beetje karig. 1 taipioca pannenkoek of tosti met een heel klein beetje fruit. Dit was voor ons beiden niet voldoende. Verder betaalden we voor een privékamer behoorlijk wat geld per nacht en was het daardoor extra irritant dat de wifi het vaak slecht deed in de kamer.
The staff of the hostel is very friendly and helpful! it was also nice that besides the pool there were many seating options, where you could chill out with each other. the breakfast included is only a bit spicy. 1 taipioca pancake or toast with a very small bit of fruit. this was not enough for both of us. furthermore we paid for a private room quite a bit of money per night and it was therefore extra irritating that the wifi often did poorly in the room.

I really liked the hostel! However, the lack of air conditioning makes the rooms very stuffy in the morning. Other than that, I had a great stay!
Beautiful hostel with a lovely pool, lush trees and green grass all around and a cool building. staff were very friendly and it was a relaxing atmosphere. location a short and safe walk to everything that you needed.
You can walk 15min to the downtown area. People are very friendly, they have a very nice swimming pool and also the breakfast and restaurant during the day is very good. The hostel is clean. I really liked it!
Certes il faut marcher un peu pour rejoindre l’hostel, mais le lieu est très agréable, entouré de verdure, et la piscine en plus. Super accueil, un bon petit déjeuner, et possibilité de manger sur place. J’étais dans une chambre de 4 dans la maison principale, avec air conditionné. Je recommande !
Of course you have to walk a bit to get to the hostel, but the place is very nice, surrounded by greenery, and the pool plus. super welcome, a good breakfast, and possibility to eat on site. i stayed in a 4 bedroom in the main house, with air conditioning. i recommend !

Awesome hostel with s lot going on. Big drinking pool, breakfast is decent and they offer a lot of tours. Beds are comfy and the atmosphere is great.
