Chameleon Backpackers

Beautiful calm space, lovely staff. Very clean, surprisingly clean throughout the day, well equipped kitchen, WiFi is decent, bar closes early keeping the space more calm at night and has cheap drinks and a few options for food until 8:30pm. Stayed in paradise backpackers as well, Chameleon is much much nicer and cleaner. Would recommend. Not the most social place but always someone to talk to if you want.

The security for the hostel was very good. It was close to things, but I wouldn't feel safe walking around by myself (although this applies to most of Windhoek). There were a lot of staff and everything was clean. It seemed quiet, as I think most people use the hostel as a launching point for tours around Namibia. They also offered a walking tour and a few activities.

Awesome hostel! Definitely where you want to stay when in Windhoek it is very close to the downtown area, bars, restaurants, shops. Rooms are clean, free breakfast is great, staff are very friendly and always accommodating. Cannot recommend enough. Thank you!

The location is very close to all the main attractions and supermarkets. The staff is very friendly, but the breakfast can be more diverse if possible.

A very good hostel. Comfortable beds in large rooms. Good breakfast. Secure parking for my motorbike. Very helpful staff.

Loved this hostel and it's all round wholesome goodness. It's spotlessly clean, the staff go above and beyond and all the tours offered including the free city tour made everything very easy. Social atmosphere with the quizzes and group dinners with people of all ages. Very chill relaxing atmosphere inside by the pool. The dorm room is a bit cramped but the private rooms were really nice.

Great hostel - friendly and helpful staff, good food, big room and very reasonably priced. Would definitely recommend, especially if it's your first night in Windhoek.

Rooms are basic for the price but everything else is top notch. Lovely courtyard. Friendly staff. Easy to book activities. Great attention to cleanliness. Easy to meet fellow travelers. Loved my stay here.

The dorm lacked some love, also a bit quiet when I was there in terms of backpackers. Good breakfast. The staff in the reception were a bit unhelpful sometimes sadly

sehr schöne Hostelanlage, Doppelzimmer war sauber und gemütlich (sehr einfach gehalten), Frühstück war total in Ordnung, kleines Menü aber für alle was dabei, ganz aufmerksames und nettes Personal, waren sehr zufrieden

Great value for a short or even some longer stays in Windhoek. Room was nice and spacious, clean, and quiet! Location is great as it is in a quiet street, and many things are walkable, however you are probably gonna take a Lefa (Uber) almost anywhere anyways so that isnt even that important. They really care about you and have great events and gatherings, e.g. regular Braii or Pizza evenings. Pool area is so nice to relax. This is NOT a party hostel, so you can relyon it being quiet after 22 pm.
