Steffi‘s Mandala

The location is amazing, right at the beach. The rooms are not functional. No curtains and WiFi in the rooms. There is only two showers for the whole hostel?? And they are outside of the main building which means you always bring wet & sandy feet into the dorm. You cannot change in the room. The staff was not really friendly either. Didn’t feel comfortable there so we decided to cut the stay short and leave a day earlier than planned…

Stayed here for only one night when heading back home. The decor at the restaurant is amazing and even the room (i stayed in a private ensuite) has been meticulously planned with a thing for finer details. Had an awesome time playing beach volleyball and carom at the property. Would love to come again and stay longer.

Uns hat es bei Steffi' Mandala sehr gefallen. Wir hatten ein privates Zimmer mit Blick auf das Meer. Für uns war es perfekt, um im Urlaub und im Land anzukommen. Da gab es so leckeres Essen, man konnte sich immer gefiltertes Wasser abfüllen und der Strand war direkt vor der Nase. Dank der Mitarbeitenden war dort eine schön entspannte Atmosphäre. Uns hat es so sehr gefallen, dass wir am Ende der Reise nochmal dahin wollten, es aber wegen Zeitmangel doch nicht machen konnten.

Das beste Hostel in dem ich bis jetzt war, die Zimmer sind einfach gehalten aber sauber! Aber am besten ist der Außenbereich, denn der ist direkt am Strand und auch der Ort an sich ist total schön Nette Cafés in der Nähe und ein toller Strand

It‘s such a nice and kind place! It’s so nice that they are also open offseason, when we were there. They had Comfy beds and really nice people, tasty coffe and food and a really chill communal space. We really loved it and felt very comfortable! Thank u for everything ❤️❤️

Der beste Aufenthalt meiner Sri Lanka Reise. Super super nettes Personal und richtig schöne Hostel “Anlage”, dazu auch noch sehr leckeres Essen und direkt am Meer!!! Ich würde immer wieder zurückkommen!!

Im Zimmer hat es leider nach Schimmel gerochen, dafür war der Beach Bereich sonst sehr schön und das Personal sehr freundlich

Cool and calm place to chill and relax

Decent hostel right on the beach, about 30 minutes walk to turtle beach. There were ants all over the room. The aircon only comes on between 9pm-8am, just FYI. So it was unbearably hot and humid in the room. Beds were comfy. No wifi in the rooms, and it was pretty weak down by the restaurant. Beautifully decorated. Staff was attentive. Plenty of good restaurants nearby.

Just some constructive feedback: install hooks in the bathroom or shelves to put clothes on to stop the from getting wet. Add a bath mat outside the bathroom as the whole bathroom gets wet from the shower. The toilet lid wouldn’t stay up either which was annoying. I had a bikini stolen from the drying rack on the first floor, so just be aware. The restaurant only accepts cash, however the menu looked great. Great, beach front with a good vibe however!

It was definitely a really nice hostel, right on the beach! Perfect for relaxing! The staff were really friendly. It was just a a bit sad that, for the price, Wi-Fi was only available in certain areas, and we were kicked out of the restaurant area so early in the evening since there was no other common area. Other than that, it was really great!

I couldn’t recommend this hostel more. The location is perfect, the rooms are clean, the food is good and the staff is so friendly and helpful. When I got sick Ahaz went with me to the doctor and made sure I was all good!

Wunderschönes Hostel direkt am Meer mit unfassbar leckerem Essen und Strandliegen die man benutzen kann. Die Mitarbeiter sind sehr nett und alles war super sauber wirklich toll!!

Sehr schönes Hostel, mit Beach Bar direkt am Strand und Sonnenliegen. Es ist ein gutes Hostel um andere kennen zu lernen. In der Nähe gibt es kleine Shops und Restaurants. Eine Sache hat mir leider nicht gefallen,das Badezimmer und Zimmer wurde während meines drei tägigen Aufenthalts nicht gereinigt.

After my flight got cancelled I was stranded in Hikkaduwa for a week. Steffi’s soon became a second home. It’s right on the beach, the food is amazing and rooms comfortable. But what really made the difference is the incredibly kind staff. If I make it back to Sri Lanka, will definitely stay here again.

Ich habe diese Unterkunft sehr geliebt. Die Lage ist einfach ein Traum. Sie liegt direkt am Strand und man hat kostenlos Sonnenliegen dazu. Ich habe im female dorm geschlafen und es war super das man direkt ein Badezimmer dabei hat. Das Restaurant ist auch einfach super. Bei meinem Aufenthalt waren viele deutsche da.

J’ai passé un super séjour ici. La cadre est juste trop bien. Le personnel est très aidant et toujours là si vous avez besoin Super hostel

Super schönes Hostel direkt am Meer, das Restaurant ist super und die Zimmer sind sauber und sehr schön!

Was für manche eventuell relevant ist: Ich war in einem shared room (4 Personen) und wenn man im Stockbett oben liegt und etwas anfällig bei nächtlicher Klimaanlage ist, muss man entweder schwitzen oder man hat Pech. Die AC ist etwa 1m entfernt und nur etwas erhöht, sodass sie direkt über den Kopf und den gesamten Körper entlang zieht. Die andere Person im oberen Bett lag quer mit dem Kopf direkt vor/unter der AC. Hier wären Vorhänge/neuere Betten mit erhöhtem Gestell eine Verbesserungs...
