didn't meet my expectations
The facilities were old, especially the kitchen utensils, which were filthy. There was no elevator. Most of the staff were LGBT and gave strange looks. The shower water was never hot enough, so I often had to finish with cold water. An Indian neighbor in the same building harassed and followed me and my sister, which scared us so much we just wanted to leave. The location was far, and the price we paid was high for what we got.
Friendly staff and good first impression. However, I wish we had done more research beforehand on things like the beds.
felt really weird and sketchy, wasnt clean (there were bugs in the pans), dishes werent clean, bathrooms werent clean, it just had a strange vibe to it
BEDBUGS!!! A lovely woman came into the kitchen when we were having breakfast in the morning covered head-to-toe in bedbug bites explaining that she’d been eaten alive by bedbugs. Reading the previous reviews, this has clearly been a recurring problem. Luckily the bedbugs weren’t present on my bed. The hostel itself is a lovely place, good facilities and nice atmosphere. Would say it’s about 30mins walk from the centre & close to the metro line but not busy so not ideal for solo travel...

Nach den ersten Nächten bemerkte meine Freundin Bisse an ihrem Körper, die sie zunächst für Mückenstiche hielt. Es kamen jedoch immer mehr über die Zeit unseres Aufenthalts hinzu. Wir dachten uns zunächst nichts schlimmes, bis meine Freundin Zuhause an einem Tuch, das im Hostel am Bett gehangen hatte, Bettwanzen gefun...
ACHTUNG: BETTWANZEN and it is not taken care of!!! / ATTENTION: BEDBUGS, but nobody cares!!! My girlfriend and I slept in this Hostel for a week. After the first few nights, my girlfriend noticed Bisse on her body, which she initially thought was a mosquito bite. However, it kept coming more and more over the time of our stay. We thought nothing bad at first, until my girlfriend found Bettwanzen on a towel that hung in the Hostel am Bett.
Bedbugs, staff tried to hide it and were rude to guests about it.
*****BED BUGS**** There were bedbugs and they've been hiding it. Two people in my room were covered in bites; like 15-20 bites. we found a couple actual bedbugs to confirm. Another person started warning everyone in the hostel about the bedbugs and the staff kicked her out of the hostel for it. if you look online for "ambiente hostel bedbugs" you can find posts about this.
bed bugs!!! the manager did refund me, but i got bed bug bites everywhere. with the reviews it looks like it’s happening to everyone. as a solo female traveller, i didn’t felt safe and confortable in this hostel. i left erlier.
No fans or air con in rooms and was very hot. We also had bed bugs in our bunks. Would not recommend

Beds were really comfortable, place was clean and everyone was very friendly!
High marks on many fronts, but after spending a year in Southeast Asia and Japan, it's hard to give this one a 10, even though they specifically ask you to do just that. My complaints, although minor, include tiny metal lockers that make a lot of noise, no counter space in the bathroom, freestanding bunk beds that shake much more than fixed pods, and curtains that cover only half of the bed, not the full bed. These are minor issues but worth noting.
Wir haben ein privat Zimmer gebucht, das war super. Küche haben wir nicht genutzt, Gemeinschaftsräume gab es nicht wirklich. Leider war es sehr hellhörig und unser Bett war durchgelegen und laut. Ich würde es eher für Paare empfehlen, für Alleinreisende fehlt leider die typische Hostel-Atmosphäre und ein Aufenthaltsbereich. Es ist echt ein Stück ins Stadtzentrum, aber dafür direkt ein einer Metro Station gelegen. Der Preis bleibt aber unschlagbar.
We booked a private room, which was great. We didn't use the kitchen, there weren't really common areas. Unfortunately it was very hellish and our bed was crowded and loud. I would rather recommend it for couples, for solo travelers unfortunately it lacks the typical hostel atmosphere and a stay area. It's really a piece in the city center, but for that it's located directly on a metro station. The price, however, remains unbeatable.
They are wonderful especially Julia, receptionist. Very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend it. Great location right by bus stop and metro. Close to red and green line.

Loved my stay at Ambiente. Excellent hostel for those seeking a good balance of a hostel socialising, quiet and peaceful space for relaxing. Staff were very helpful and supportive. Initially booked for a few days but ended up extending for 2 weeks. Stayed at both the domitory and private rooms and loved both. Of course the private rooms were my preference with the baloncy and desk set up for working. The kitchen was spacious and had everything to help cook something for those that prefer to cook

Stanza e bagni puliti, ostello molto tranquillo, per me andava benissimo.
Clean rooms and bathrooms, very quiet hostel, for me it was benissimo.
It's a relatively old place but cheap and suitable for travelers
The hostel is in a good location with public transports,convenience stores and restaurants within 5-10 minutes walk. The hostel itself is in an old building and is quite charming inside. However this is also the biggest flaw of the place : as it is quite old, there is absolutely no soundproofing. We had a private room but we barely slept as we could hear everything from the other rooms, the lobby and even the metro. I would not recommend unless you are very heavy sleepers.
Would highly recommend! Had a private room and it was very spacious and the comfortable - hostel was quiet, bathrooms etc very clean - great value for money and good location too!
The property was clean and the kitchen was beautiful and the staff were nice, but the atmosphere was bizarre. First, it’s barely lit, so any time the sun isn’t up or you’re in a room without a window, it’s dark and gloomy and you can hardly see anything. Second, I stayed here several nights and the whole time, I was the only guest under the age of 40. Demographically, it’s the oldest hostel I’ve been in. It just had a strange and eerie vibe, like a hospice center.
Smooth late check-in service. Clean bathrooms, beds, and towels provided. Only a 5 mins walk from Anjos Metro station!
Very clean facilities, and the beds were comfy. Good location, lots to do in the area and close to the centre. I'd stay here again.

La joie de découvrir un bel immeuble typique de Lisbonne, avec tout le troisième étage transformé pour recevoir les voyageurs. Une bel ambiance, entre décoration actuelles et préservation des vieux carrelages. Bon accueil et propreté dans tous les espaces communs.

Lovely hostel, we had a double room which was nice, clean and the shared bathrooms were always kept clean. Good location with the metro nearby.
We loved our brief stay ar Ambiente in Lisboa. The bedroom was huge and comfortable. It's a lovely old building. The shared bathrooms were clean. We were in room 1, next to one of the entrances, and had quite a lot of noise from people coming and going through the night (even though we only slept 11pm-6am).
