Alobar1000 Hostel

They invaded my religion and privacy. They mocked me, made fun of me. They made my life a living hell

I booked a private room and the very downside of these rooms is that they are close to the terrace and pool. Thus lots of noise from music playing and also people chatting. So if you are looking for a quiet stay but still enjoying the hostel vibes, I would definitely not recommend this place. Besides, the room was super super cold (january). And I would also say that the reception staff was not really friendly.

The hostel has a nice location, and nice communal areas, such as a swimming pool. There are not a lot of people though, surprising, particularly at High season. I had booked a private room, and don’t think they are clean enough: half condom package, in a drawer. Pringles cap also next to the bed and overall dirt. Needs a deep cleaning. Also saw two brownish bugs in the floor next to each side of the bed.

They are building something near the hostel so we woke up in 8 to the sounds of drilling. No ac in the rooms and fans not enough. But great facilities and nice staff:

Très bel établissement, l’extérieur et les chambres sont très agréables. Le personnel est à l’écoute et très accueillant. Nous avons passé un très bon séjour, la cuisine était bonne. Il n’y avait pas beaucoup de voyageurs donc pas beaucoup d’ambiance mais très sympas quand même !

I stayed here as a solo female traveller in September. The hostel was nice, but very quiet, with no real opportunity to meet people. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Would return again if I was staying with friends.

I had a really lovely stay at Alobar1000 - the location is great, the rooms are clean and the showers hot, the bed was extremely comfortable, and the security was excellent. I also appreciated the very friendly and helpful staff! I would note that during my stay, the hostel was very quiet with only a few other guests (as a solo traveler, I was hoping to meet other travelers), but overall I would stay at Alobar1000 again the next time that I'm in Kathmandu.

No lights(!) and curtains on beds. But everything else was great. Very helpful stuff on reception (thanks Aj) and in the cafe. The food was tasty too.

Great hostel! The staff are so helpful and breakfast was so yum! Walking distance to almost everything in Thamel. I was here on winter but i do not recommend because the dorms get so cold.

A little quiet in early December but well located for Thamel and Monkey temple and Bus station without being too noisy or hectic (down a side street which helps). Smiley helpful staff. Lots of facilities and games. Only 2 of us in a dorm for 6 so slept well. Plentiful loos and showers and kept clean and functional. Good breakfast included in price so felt like really good value for money.

I stayed here many times in Kathmandu. Great all-round.

auper cute hostel with a nice outside area where you can meet other travellers. great location in thamel with everything you could need right at your door step. staff is super lovely and helpful too!

Superleuk hostel, met heel vriendelijk en behulpzaam personeel. Vanuit Kathmandu verschillende uitstapjes gemaakt en ik kon mijn bagage stallen in het hostel. Groot pluspunt was de Rooftopbar en de patio. Midden in Thamel, maar toch een rustige plek om te zitten.

I had a wonderful stay there in October. Kish and the rest of the staff were incredibly kind and helpful! And I really met some great people there! It's close to a nice area with a lot of shops/restaurants/bars etc. The hostel also has an excellent restaurant/café that's open all day. I really had such an amazing time in Nepal
