Casa Austera

I was really unhappy with my stay and checked out after the first night to find sth else. The pictures looked fine but the bathroom, common kitchen and also outside area was really no taken care of, personal stuff and cigaret butts lying around. Found another hostel that is just another level for the same price. Sad, because the place itself does have some potential.

Wij hadden een privé kamer met eigen badkamer en de kamer was ruim en schoon. Het bed was schoon en comfortabel. De kamer had geen ramen, alleen horren wat het best gehorig maakte. Het hostel is verder heel rustig en chill en er is een grote keuken die je kunt gebruiken. Ik raad het aan!

Prima hostel. Het is erg rustig met maar 1 slaapzaal en 2 privekamers. Het is fijn dat er een keuken is die je kunt gebruiken.

It was okay! Not really like the photos - the bathroom wasn’t that clean…and not much privacy. It was quiet though, and staff were lovely :)

Emiliano was so nice!!! He was so welcoming and made our stay amazing. The kitchen and social areas are great as well.

A decent stay. Pretty homely feel but found it quiet with not a lot going on. The rooms were extremely humid but spacious, and the places is just slightly out of the way from the action but there’s better alternatives if you can book early enough.

Had a lovely stay here :) The staff is suuuuper friendly, the house had a well equipped kitchen and enough bathrooms that you never really had to wait

Nice and cute hostel. The kitchen is amazing. Not much of a social atmosphere when I was there, it was very quiet with most people just keeping to themselves which is fine!

Yeah nice and chill Needs to have age limit , don’t feel comfortable as a young women sharing a bedroom with older men (older man was naked in dorm), it’s in appropriate

There are places like this that you never want to leave. The atmosphere at this hostel is peaceful, and it feels just like home. The kitchen is spacious and fully equipped. There’s a fitness area. There’s also a projector for watching movies. The hostel is in a great location. It’s not a party hostel but if you’re looking for a peaceful place with cool people and a great atmosphere, this is the perfect spot for you. Nice hostel with a good vibe and facilities no AC in the rooms but you do get a fan which helps

There’s a reason why so many people come here and end up extending. The hostel is cozy and has everything you need, especially the kitchen. Lots of beautiful plants, hammocks to lay in, and a good social environment. Because of the hostel’s size you become close with the other travelers. It’s not a party hostel but in my opinion it’s better than that. It’s a tranquil place to come home to after the party, or surfing, or the mangrove. Or if you want you can just do yoga and read all day...

Great value and vibes! Such kind owners and volunteers. It’s very relaxed but sooo clean and wonderful! Nice and quiet as well (tough to find in El Paredon)

Super fijne locatie met aardige mensen!

Such a lush hostel with immaculate vibes for chilling, the kitchen is so well stocked and the pictures on here don’t do it justice it felt like a reverse catfish! It was pretty social with the people I had with me on my stay.

Wonderful place in El Paredon! We were staying for 4 nights and extended for one more because we liked it that much! The hostel is not directly located at the beach, what made it perfect for us, because it was quite and calm compared to other ‚party hostels‘. The volunteers were absolutely amazing, really kind and welcoming! The kitchen was one of the best I‘ve seen in my travels. If you are looking for a friendly and almost family vibe kind of hostel, this is the perfect place to stay at! The owners were so kind. And they don’t have much beds, so everybody in the hostel naturally socializes together. The garden is really beautiful and it’s really close to the beach! Gracias Nico :)

I had an amazing time here, I’d recommend it to everyone who doesn’t want to stay in a party hostel and rather just chill. The volunteers were really helpful and nice

Nice little cozy hostel, super chill and quite a few mosquitoes but if you’re looking for a nice relaxed hostel to smoke a j in a hammock this is the place

Me gustó mucho mi tiempo en casa Austera. El hostal fue construido por dos amigos con pasión por viajar. Tiene un jardín hermoso y un cocina excelente con todo lo necesario. La onda del hostal es buena y es facíl hacer nuevos amigos. Definitivamente puedo recomendar este lugar si quieres disfrutar de un tiempo tranquilo en El Paradon.

My best ever stay at any hostel anywhere on this beautiful planet. Location is top, the kitchen has literally everything, you sleep like a baby, the common areas a spacious and cozy at the same time with plenty of small corners to chill. We didn’t now what to expect from El Paredón, but the four days we booked in the beginning ended up being almost two weeks and that was mostly because of the lovely and homelike character and feel of Casa Austera.
