El Yarumo

Having been traveling through Colombia for the last month we have had a variety of hotel accomidation. This was probably one of the most expensive, with the least amount of facilities. In Histel World it stated it had a shared kitchen, this was not true. For us the nights were cold, except for an extra blanket there was no heating available. Staff were friendly enough and the place was clean.

The dorms are cold. Bathroom floors are wet and dirty. The laundry machine was broken. They are very pushy about you leaving a good review. Alright place, but not amazing.

Dorms were very dirty with a lot of dust everywhere, beds were like plastic filled with air same as the pillows, no toilet paper provided and soap that is refilled with water constantly in tiny bathrooms. Also pictures look much better than reality, it kind of looks like the place is falling apart. Maybe private rooms are better, but can't judge that on my experience. The volunteers are nice but property not so much, kitchen also looks quite dirty so maybe don't order some breakfast.

We have mixed feelings about our stay at the El Yarumo. On the one hand, it has a beautiful backyard and is greatly located. Unfortunately, the backyard is mostly used for the own gastronomy and there is no typical hostel, get-together vibe. If you’re a noise sensitive person, be aware that you’ll hear music from ~10am-10pm in our own room. The staff were great and very helpful. Unfortunately the bed was incredibly uncomfortable in our private room and the hostel was very empty.

Loved everything about my stay, but I do not need loud music playing in the courtyard all afternoon and evening. Especially not when there aren't people in the courtyard to actually enjoy the music. Apart from this, really loved the hostel and the staff was super friendly.

Cheap and in good centro location. Staff were super helpful. Just wish there had been an indoor common area

The staff was friendly and attentive. Diego and Martín were very helpful with any questions or concerns that I had and I felt that they were genuine interested in helping.

Although some improvements has to be mad in this hostel as more showers ,the cozy little hostel with great staff and relaxed atmosphere in a great safe location is to be considered when in Bogota. The showers were not extremely hot but alright,and the whole place needs a more modern air but i had an excellent time.. internet is slow sometimes,but i had 4g local sim so ok. El ambiente es genial; se siente como estar en casa. Las instalaciones están siempre súper limpias, y los espacios comunes son perfectos para relajarse. Pero lo que realmente hace la diferencia es el personal: son un 10/10, siempre con la mejor actitud y listos para ayudar en lo que necesites. La ubicación es cómoda, y la relación calidad-precio es muy buena.

We really enjoyed our stay at El Yarumo! Our room was super comfortable and it was great to have a warm shower. The staff are so friendly and even let us have a late check out, which was so needed as we were only in Bogotá for a connecting flight. Perfect location in La Candelaria, really near nice cafes and restaurants. Definitely recommend this hostel!

Very friendly personal and ready to help with everything

Es la segunda vez que los visito y estoy muy satisfecho, la atención es muy buena, el desayuno muy rico. Además los espacios, el ambiente y la ubicación increíble y muy segura.

Je suis venu en septembre 2024. Premières nuits en Colombie. Bel hôtel. J'étais hélas le seul client donc en terme d'ambiance c'était tranquille et reposant. Néanmoins un grand merci au jeune homme originaire du Venezuela qui m'a partagé de nombreux conseils utiles et nous avons partagé de belles conversations. Un hôtel idéal pour démarrer mon voyage en Colombie.

Es la segunda vez que me quedo en el Yarumo y sin duda me quedaría ahí de nuevo. El lugar es pequeño pero muy acogedor. ¡Todos muy amables! Me sentí super cómoda y sobretodo segura. Súper recomendado.
