Hiricurry Restaurant and Hostel -Hiriketiya

Booked a dorm with ensuite only to find that such a room didn't exist in the hostel, the staff were very dismissive about this issue. Dorm rooms didn't provide even a blanket for the bed. Shower was always dirty and always cold. Only one bathroom to share with all dorms otherwise you had to use outdoor ones. Also recommended a laundry place that then overcharged us and was also over a day late than promised. Good thing we didn't have to leave that day!

Enjoyed my stay here! Not super social (always depends on people though), but they do put effort in to get tickets to parties and there’s an awesome family dinner every other night for cheap. Really enjoyed the free breakfast & the air con is amazing. Staff was super helpful when I wanted to extend. Would come back here anytime!

Such a good hostel with amazing food and staff. Not the most social of hostels but we met a couple of lovely people, and super comfy beds!

The hostel has a good location, common areas , friendly staff and good buffé meals. The rooms are really small so if you don’t mind to be in a sharing room and feel as tuna tin. value for money

Nice hostel but you can see that it is relatively new. A few issues to sort out such as getting aircon and repairing some things around the house. Bathroom got dirty really quickly due to all the sand. The breakfast was good and the owner was very kind.

Fab hostel for socialising, easy to walk to Hiri or Dickwella beaches, loads of outdoor space to chill, always something social on. Roei is super helpful and Kumari makes a wicked brekky!

Amazing location with delicious breakfast! WiFi worked well in the rooms and nice AC. Staff was friendly. Not a party hostel, but a good chill but fairly social place to stay.

Das Hostel hat mir super gefallen. Sie sind sehr grosszügig, das Frühstücksbuffet ist gross und lecker. Alles ist sehr sauber und die Betten sind sehr bequem. Es hat zwar viele Ameisen, aber die hat es überall und stören nicht gross. Es gibt ein Spielesortiment und einen Bücherschrank zum ausleihen/tauschen. Die Lage ist noch ein Bonuspunkt! Ich würde sofort wieder dahin zurück.

I recommend this hostel! You get free breakfast (which is very good) and free yoga classes. The family dinners are also very good with not spicy food, so you can enjoy it fully!!

Tolles Hostel in guter Lage. Man kann in 5 min sowohl zum hiriketiya beach oder zum dickwella beach laufen. Family dinner und das Frühstück waren top. Der Außenbereich ist sehr einladend und gemütlich. Das Zimmer mit 6 Betten war schon sehr eng und nicht alle Betten hatten einen Vorhang, allerdings hat mich das nicht gestört. An einigen Tagen wurde kostenloses Sunset Yoga angeboten.

Staff were so lovely and the hostel was great and had all the things we needed, water filter is always good. It was in a perfect location and helped us arrange to go to events every day. Did have a cockroach in my bed but there we are

The hostel is very nice and staff is very friendly and always open to help. The price is compared to what you receive very cheap. Good breakfast, yoga, family dinners for really cheap price and great people. The room is simple but clean.

Sehr schönes Hostel! Perfekter Mix aus Ruhe aber trotzdem die Möglichkeit Leute kennenzulernen. Insgesamt einfach sehr entspannt. Dazu war das Frühstück wirklich sehr gut!!

Great hostel in a quiet area but still close to everything (bars, restaurants, beaches…). Also it is a short walk to Dikwella beach which is less crowded and has a beautiful sunset. The rooms are small but comfortable, and they have indoor and outdoor showers and toilets. Free breakfast is delicious, home made, with a lot of options (fruits, local dishes, coffee, tea,…). Great staff, I would definitely come back to this place!

I had the best time at Hiricurry! I stayed there earlier during my trip & came back for my last days since I liked it so much. My highlight was the breakfast - a buffet with plenty of fresh local food, fruits and also toasts. The host is super kind & always making sure everything is fine, going the extra mile if something is missing. The location is great, not in the crowded and loud heart of the bay but still only a 5 minutes walk away from the bay. You can also rent scooters & book activities!

Lovely hostel in a great location not too far from beach but far enough not too be loud! Good facilities with curtains on beds which was great and free breakfast meant great value for money! Staff were all lovely and helpful too :). Would definitely recommend!

I had a great stay at Hiricurry Hostel! Samire, the owner of the place, is a very friendly and caring host, making sure that everything is fine and if there is a problem he is doing everything to solve it. You have a nice and comfortable chilling area with ventilators and shade outside as well as a included and very tasty Sri Lankan breakfast every morning. The atmosphere is friendly and open and it’s easy to get to know other travelers. I would definitely come back!
