Tides Mirissa Beach hostel

To keep it short, we were very disappointed in this hostel. it has alot of Potential, but let's itself down. Check 2 star reviews on Google for a very detailed break down. I hope the owner doesn't take it personally, and just fixes all the issues. it has so much potential

Money stolen out of my bag by staff. Bathroom disgusting, drainage issues, and not cleaned for days. Loud music all throughout the night. Only good thing about this property is that it’s on the beach.

Firstly there was no running water for 2 days and were given no information / compensation about this. Staff were never around making it feel unsafe as there are no lockers in the rooms or locks on the doors. On my first night staff were around but on the other 2 I didn’t see anyone most of the day / evening. Also got charged just to rent a towel. Nice location but pool seems unclean. Also allowed a cat with parasites to roam around.

The staff put 2 people in the same bed and were constantly asking us if the beds in the room were taken.

Staff were super friendly! But there were bed bugs, no toilet paper in the bathroom and very empty. No social vibe at all and the pool looks much smaller in person than in the photos.

Amazing beachfront view with such a good vibe overall. The staff was warm and welcoming, and the atmosphere made it a really relaxing stay. The host was absolutely amazing and made the whole experience even better.

There was no social activities but the place is great. And not the cleanest place I’ve been too but as a backpacker you can manage. The view of the ocean is great and the staff super friendly !

First of all Patrick is super nice and welcoming and I can imagine that there will be a great vibe during the main season. Now I was the only guest so I can’t say nothing about the social vibe… The room itself was clean, the bathroom not so much and there is nothing except for toilet paper. At least soap would have been nice 😉 anyway I didn’t ask, maybe u will get it. There is no beach in front of the Hostel, you have to walk about 15 minutes (or get a ride). PS: you should fix the do...

Had an amazing stay, the owner and the employees were really kind. Also loved their little kitten Lulu 🥹

Bestest view in all of srilanka. 100/10. Very social hostel, you barely even need to step out to party if you are staying here. It has the best sunset I have seen in a 10 day trip to srilanka. The host emaad, the managers Helene and others are extremely helpful and supportive. It’s a very inclusive hostel. I came here for two days and ended up staying for 7 wanting to stay more. Everything is just perfect. Tons of restaurants close by. Everything is just 100/10

Best sunset best ambiance !

this is a must stay hoatel in asia you can get out of bed and be in the sea in. all of the staff are very welcoming and friendly. I had the best time here go experince it for yourself.

Had the best time staying here! Can jump from your bed straight in to the ocean. Quiet and peacefull location, but lots of evening activities like paint & sip, games night,... Staff and volunteers are friendly and always happy to hang out, go surfing, teach yoga,... Also the prettiest sunsets!!

Such a fun and social hostel I made so many friends here and continued my travels with them which made my trip! Pizza here is so good also and you can eat it with the best view- thanks for the best stay Tides :)

There was no social activities but the place is great. And not the cleanest place I’ve been too but as a backpacker you can manage. The view of the ocean is great and the staff super friendly !

My favourite hostel in Sri Lanka had so much fun here, the activities every night make the hostel and it’s such a fun vibe! Made loads of friends and it feels like a big family, the view rooms and facilities and all great I will deffo be back ❤️

Absolutely loved this hostel! Could not recommend enough. The sunset and view is unreal especially the sunset yoga. I stayed here for 3 nights, I wish I could’ve stayed longer. Staff are super fun and friendly and rooms are clean and amazing location. They also do events each night so good for meeting people:) Thanks Tides

Tides Hostel in Mirissa was the perfect beach spot to stay! There are loads of activities available, from beach trips and surfing to social events at the hostel. The facilities are well maintained and have everything you need for a comfortable stay and the staff were super helpful and always happy to answer questions and give local tips! The location of the hostel is amazing! You can enter the sea from little stairs and swim and the chill area is nice. The people were helpful and very nice to us and gave positive energy overall.
