I had an absolutely amazing time at Nourhene and Walid’s place. They are so lovely and welcoming that I felt at home immediately. As a solo female traveler I felt very safe, and got a lot of nice tips and recommendations. The house is beautiful and comfortable, with three loving cats to keep you company. I would recommend staying at Atelier D to anyone who wants to enjoy true Tunisian life and connect with the inspiring hosts 🪷 thanks so much for hosting me.

I can not even describe how much I love Walid and Nourhene’s place (and the home of Piano, Mandarino and Marco- their wonderful cats)… After one week I felt like I knew them for ages and that their home was in fact my home. Das Atelier D liegt zentral, günstig, mitten in der Altstadt (Medina) von Tunis, in einer kleinen engen Gasse, die etwas schwierig zu finden ist. Haus und Zimmer sind typisch arabisch gebaut. Das Zimmer ist einfach und klein, aber landestypisch und geschmackvoll eingerichtet und hat ein separates Badezimmer und Terrasse. Wifi und heiße Dusche funktionieren. Der Empfang durch das junge Hausbesitzerpaar (Walid und Nourhene) war sehr herzlich und sprechen Englisch Französisch und Deutsch...

Nourhene and Walid were so lovely, we arrived with no plans and they gave great advice on how to spend our time in Tunisia to the max. They were very easy to contact, contacting us first to give advice on how to arrive and were very easy about our delay arriving. It was a perfect intro to Tunisia in location and hospitality.

This hostel truly felt like a home away from home. Nourhene and Walid welcomed me with the warmth of childhood friends. I clicked instantly and felt so comfortable in the beautiful living room with blue ceramics, Tunisian fabrics, and a purring cat. The open, traditional space made me feel alive in a way I haven’t in years living in the West. They shared food, laughter,music and daily life with me and I am very grateful for that.I even extended my stay to 19 days and will definitely return soo...

Atelier D is a lovely place to stay whether you travel alone or with others. The hosts made me feel like home since the moment I arrived to their place. The place is vibrant and cosy and the people make it’s specialness to the max. Great for solo travelers and people who want from their accomondation more than a bed to sleep on.

Die beiden Gastgebenden sind wirklich tolle Menschen, bei denen ich mich direkt sehr wohlgefühlt habe. Durch sie habe ich vieles über Tunis und das Land gelernt. Mein Zimmer war sehr gemütlich eingerichtet, es gibt eine schöne Dachterrasse und ich würde auf jeden Fall wiederkommen.

wonderful location, very nice hosts. why you would stay here: wonderful hosts who know the country so well and are generous with that knowledge. if what you want is an environment to meet people - this really isnt that - its more airbnb. but the area is safe and that isnt true of everywhere.

Super endroit , dans la vieille ville de Tunis , endroit très authentique, endroit idéal pour découvrir la culture Tunisienne. A 10 min du centre ville et du grand souk , les chambres sont super propre et walid et nour vous accueille les bras ouvert avec beaucoup de gentillesse et de générosité, ils prennent plaisir à vous donner des renseignements et vous accompagner !

I didn't want to leave. Nourene and Walid seem like old friends that I had the pleasure of staying with in there home.

Atelier D was a highlight of our trip in Tunisia (and it’s not even over yet) because of Walid and Nourhene’s kindness and beautiful home perfectly situated in Tunis. We will absolutely be back to visit our friends!

Regardless of what I write here won’t do justice to Walid’s attention to my staff. I felt I was staying with a close family.

The property is situated in the heart of the vibrant medina, it felt like home staying there. It was clean, the rooms were beautiful, i had a cool terrasse and there was a lovely living where i could chill out too. The hosts were extremely warm and welcoming, were always there to give me great recommendations and made me feel at home in a to me foreign city. I very much appreciated the stay.
