Hotel Shalini

Place is okay but there were a few things that need to be said. Reception is empty a lot of time. Hard to get in when its nighttime and gate is closed, no one will open. Rooms have ac but you have to pay extra to use. Overall vibe of the place was not positive. Would not recommend

No a/c allowed in the dorm rooms(Not included in price). Fantastic food in the restaurant but expensive, quiet place to stay with not much going on.

Vervallen kamers en ook de rest van hotel kan opknapbuurt gebruiken. De kamer was niet schoon en veel muggen. De kamer is wel ruim en badkamer is prima. Harde bedden en vervelende kussens. Airco op de kamer is fijn. Eigenaar is vriendelijk en geeft goede tips, maar is wel wat opdringerig. Eten was lekker.

Geen airco op de kamer, alsook erg primitief. De eigenaar was erg opdringerig... Er werkte wel één erg vriendelijke oudere man, deze heeft me voor een aantal roepies echt mooie plekken laten zien! Ik ben uiteindelijk een dag vroeger vertrokken.

Hostel was okay but the owner kept constantly trying to sell his own tour for way too much money, really rude.. And when you go on a tour with him, he only drives you so not like a real guide (which he lied about).

the owner was super nice, as well as the staff. But it was hard to find anyone when you needed them, it’s more of a hotel but super empty when I was there. Bathroom was dirty, and the tap didn’t work. Lots of bugs in the room, cockroach on the bed. Honestly I’d recommend just splurging on a hotel somewhere if you can.

This place has all the basics. Unfortunately I was the only one there at the time and so there was no atmosphere and I felt a bit pressured by the host to come out and eat dinner there and to travel with his driver.

Je ne me suis pas senti accueilli dans cet établissement et même parfois jugé, mon chambre avait le basique mais la literie n’était pas bonne le lit avait sûrement des lattes en moins. L’établissement a cependant un réel potentiel!

The property advertises AC in the dorm but don’t switch it on. So there is no air con or Wi-Fi access in the dorm room. There was electricity outage for two hours with a lot of mosquitoes in the room, and guests in the adjacent rooms were playing loud music and drinking till 3 am. Felt unsafe staying here.

Me and my 5 friends stayed here and absolutely loved it. The rooms were simple and had everything we needed. They made us dinner, which was a huge spread of different curries, it was the best food we've had in Sri Lanka so far! The next day we went on a Tuktuk tour around Anuradhapura with one of the members of staff, he showed us everything and was very knowledgeable about all of the sites. We loved it!!

Sehr freundliche Mitarbeitende und Leitung, hilfsbereit (im Gegensatz zu anderen Kommentaren habe ich ihn nicht immer sofort angetroffen), etwas in die Jahre gekommen und nicht top sauber, aber ok. Ich habe mich sicher gefühlt.

Good place for a quick Anuradhapura stop. Staff were extremely kind.

Very comfortable place. The room had all the essentials. The food at the restaurant was excellent!

It’s a very nice place to stay. Everything was fine but there are 3 things, which were extremly good: 1-very kond and helpfull staff, 2-great food for breakfeast (included) and diner (optionalmfor 2250 Rupees), 3-a very kind, helpfull tuk-tuk driver. I recommend it.

Come here if you want an authentic experience! Siril works super hard and goes out of his way to make your stay the best - he prepared really nice dinner for us even when we arrived late, and made sure we could go on tours, even last minute. We went to see the city with Mohammed which was amazing, and he took us to Mihintale and a secret sunset spot. I had the dorm for myself, it was clean and felt safe. Only thing is that the WiFi wasn’t working that well, but do you really need that?

At first we arrived at the 2 persons room which was full of mosquitos and a bit dirty but then we got to change rooms and everything got perfect. SUPER nice staff, lovely dinner and breakfast. Also very nice guide through the hot spots of the town and to the safari.

Locatie was top. Kamers waren niet heel schoon en er zaten vlekken in de lakens. Er zaten veel muggen en de muggennetten zaten wat gaten in dus was niet top. Ik zou hier niet nog een keer heen gaan.

It’s a great place to stay with good breakfast and a even better Dinner! The hotel employees was realy helpful and kind. It is possible to rent a bike at this hotel so you can make ride around the lakes and Tempels!

I am very pleased with the good and pleasant service from all the staff at Shalini! There was a good breakfast, clean room and they had bicycles for rent that were well maintained. Thank you guys:)

Très bel accueil avec des boissons et tous les conseils nécessaires pour visiter la ville. La chambre était correcte mais pas non plus très propre (poussière,...). J'espère que vous tomberait sur Mohammed qui nous a emmené partout en Tuktuk et qui vit sur place à l'hôtel !

Prima kamer! Maar vooral hele lieve mensen die daar werken! Erg betrokken en je voelt je veilig!
