Santos Express Train B&B

My booking was messed up, the accommodation is terrible and bathroom facilities are atrocious .. the location and vibe is okay and the experience could be great if the accommodation undergo a serious make over. I had to cancel and pay double for other accommodation as the conditions of the unit they tried to force me in was frankly ridiculous. It currently appears to cater for party people who drink and don't mind where the pass out, because the sleeping on an exercise mattress is not on.

It is the worst hostel ever, there is no common erea to meet other travelers and the whole place just focus on the restaurant and nothing else.

I wouldn't recommend this place for solo-travellers, the area feels unsafe, the facilities (rooms and restaurant) are not well maintained and outdated. The sushi was great, but otherwise I just felt uncomfortable. There is no common area, no kitchen, the bathrooms are tiny and smelly and there is no wifi in the rooms. The train is a great idea, but needs some work to (get back?) to it's potential. Would have loved some recommendations on what to do in the area. Walking on my own felt unsaf...

Zimmer war nicht fertig, als wir einchecken wollten. Keiner hat uns mitgeteilt, dass Frühstück inkludiert ist.. Super langsamer Service im Restaurant. Saßen 30 Minuten und keine Person hat uns bedient :-(. Der Zug an sich ist cool zum übernachten, aber der Strand eine große Katastrophe - viel zu voll und touristisch. :-(

The room was very clean and the area felt very safe. The securityguards were on it. But the staff at the restaurant weren't friendly and kept us waiting for very long. The beach was also very noisy at night.

I canceled my stay, so I cannot really comment. Quite clearly, I did not understand what I was booking for my stay, I was under the impression that I was getting a cabin much like the one that I saw on the web page. However, it was not to be. Having said that If I was only staying for one night I would not have had a p with the tiny cabin. On the brighter side the reception staff came to my rescue and pointed me in the direction of accommodation that was more suitable.

It's cool to sleep on the train, but unfortunately the hostel lacks any atmosphere.

The staff were INCREDIBLY friendly and made me feel very welcome! The bedding and mattress were a bit rough, but you get what you pay for. As long as you understand you’re staying in a small train space, it should be fine

This place wasn’t for me but I liked the idea that train has been transferred to a hostel.

When we got there they double booked our room. Didn't get our double bed room. Even after staying a night and one opened, they still didn't give it to us. Also problems with their key systems, wrong keys and remote didn't work to get into gate. Had to asked security to open the gate.

We had the best time

Overall nice hostel. You get a private room which is always nice however it is of course very tight(you are on a train) and for tall ppl the bed can be a bit small. The wifi is very bad though. Its nonetheless a cool experience you are by a beautiful beach. Great staff, good breakfast, just a shame the kitchen closes before 8pm.

Great value for money and if you're on a budget. The small cabins look right out over the beach, very clean, friendly staff. Would definitely recommend

Es war eine tolle Erfahrung,die wir gerne wiederholen werden.Die Lage,das Personal und die Unterkunft sind perfekt.

Very nice experience to sleep in the train. The basic room is very basic, the shared toilet and bathroom where clean. Sounds from neighbours are very hearable. I prefer a thinner pillow than i had. Overal the stay was nice, breakfast is good and the staff is so friendly

Great location, very nice place for a short stay if you can miss some comfort. Good wifi, very friendly and efficient staf, pleasant terraces with a great view, good food and reasonable prices.

Sehr cooles Erlebnis! Schlafen in altem Zug, Mega bequem und mit wunderschöner Aussicht aufs Meer! Nur das Waschbecken funktionierte nicht richtig! Achtet darauf, das Zimmer mit Badewanne zu bekommen, da könnt ihr euch problemlos die Hände waschen

So charming to be staying in a train carriage right by the beach! I wish we could have stayed longer! Clean rooms, friendly and helpful staff, good security.

Es ist schon etwas besonderes, so ein Zug direkt am Strand -ein kleines Erlebnis! Man muss sich natürlich im Klaren darüber sein, dass ein Schlafwagenabteil sehr beengt ist. Die schnuckelige Bar, wurde morgens zum Frühstücksraum umfunktioniert. Das Frühstück war gut und ausreichend. Es könnte noch darauf geachtet werden, dass das Frühstücksbuffet zur angegebenen Zeit komplett ist und das Brot, die Milch etc. nicht mit mehrere Minuten Abstand nach und nach hinzugefügt werden. So...

Einfach toll einem der Royal Apartments zu schlafen, ein Hauch von Luxus der Jahrhundertwende, sauber, super Personal und der Strand direkt vor dem Zug. Sehr zu empfehlen🤩🤩
