je ne recommande pas cette auberge, hormis la localisation qui est pas mal,la Présence de clim et le personnel sympa sinon rien ne va. si vous avez la malchance d'être dans un dortoir lit au centre de la chambre vous n'aurez pas de rideaux partout autour du lit, le petit déjeuner est vraiment mauvais, les espaces communs ne sont vraiment vraiment pas agréables, le wifi ne fonctionne pas bien. je ne m'y suis pas sentie a l'aise a titre personnel.

Prix de la chambre ne correspond pas j'ai payé 75 e plus 11,88 e sur le site internet c'est pas sérieux très dessus je ferai pas la publicité sur vous

DO NOT STAY in the 12-person dorm it is horrible!! You will get zero sleep the beds are very uncomfortable, there are lots of old people here it is not very nice, the location is fairly good. But try and stay here for as little as possible or go into one of the smaller dorms as it is a lot more worth it than the 12 person dorm.

Le rapport qualité prix n’y est malheureusement pas. Payer aussi cher pour dormir dans un tout petit espace avec 6 lits superposés et 12 personnes… Auberge pas chaleureuse, pas d’ambiance le soir… tout le monde « zone » ou dort. Espace cuisine moyen.. wifi qui marche très mal Assez déçus !

Great location, great people. I rated the staff low due to one incident. Most staff were very friendly and helpful. On the last day I checked out and stored my bags for the rest of the day. When I returned to collect them, the manager (whose family own the lodge) was not going to let me use the bathroom for just a minute to change my clothes to go to the airport. I've stayed in hostels in nearly 40 countries and have never come across this before. This place could do with some competition.

Hostel très basique qui est pratique pour les nuits avant/après ferry ou explorer Papeete. Le dortoir de 12 est serré, et les lampes/prises en piteux état. Beaucoup de gars de 50 ans et plus restent dans le dortoir ce qui peut mettre mal à l'aise les filles même si je n'ai eu aucun problème sur mes 4 nuits ici. Le staff est agréable. L'ambiance générale n'est pas la plus propice aux rencontres.

Die Unterkunft ist gut gelegen und sauber. Das Personal sehr hilfsbereit. Die Betten sind extrem instabil und bei jeder Bewegung entsteht lärm Ich konnte nicht wirklich schlafen leider. Die Küche ist okay.

Hostel was good for a short stay, very much just a place to stay not hang around in.

I just didn’t get the family vibe as described. The receptionist showed me to my 4 bd mixed dorm & he said 3 other people would be staying as well. Got to the room he told me to choose either top bunk, turned out nobody else came and I could’ve chosen a bottom bunk. There were lots of French speakers and they were stand offish. Oh if your American bring a French adapter to fit the outlets otherwise you can charge your phone. They also don’t tell you that you have rent a single towel for $5...

Très bon emplacement mais les joints de douche ont besoin d’être refait car moisissure +++et pas d’eau chaude à la douche durant mon séjour…en espérant que cela etait ponctuel

Auberge idéalement située et personnel agréable

Perfect stay for a night or two on the way to Moorea! Great location close to restaurants and shops and walking distance to ferry

Perfect location! Close to all kind of shops and restaurants, Ferries terminal and most turistic spots of Papeete, easy access by bus to and from the airport. Strong wifi, Nice common áreas and AC in dormitorios 24 hrs (which is so apreciated), kind stuff and all facilites a Backpacker can need. Breakfast is basic , But very welcomed!

This place is in a great location. Easy to walk to everything and perfect to jump on the ferry. Staff is friendly and nice. But our room didn’t have air conditioning as advertised and hate to say it but deff would not be back without it. A room for 12 with one fan and 7 people in it is not comfortable maybe add another fan idk but it’s HOT.

Only real hostel in Papeete and centrally downtown for the ferry to Moorea or cruise ships. Public bus from airport drops 100m away so super. Not real atmosphere as all kept to them themselves but my 4b dorm had air on, was cool at night and bunk bed not too squeaky.

C’est un hostel propre, bien localisé, avec un personnel toujours souriant et à l’écoute ! Je recommande

Staff súper amable, habitación pequeña y ruidosa, tuvimos la mala suerte de estar al lado de la cocina donde la gente conversaba muy alto. Pero ubicación muy buena. Pedir habitaciones lejos de la cocina . Desayuno ok.

Staff keep everywhere very clean and tidy and are friendly. Sheets smell amazing! The rooms are basic but nice and the air conditioning is lovely. I love the colourful walls and Tahitian designs. Nic relaxed atmosphere. Location excellent as right next to market, shops and Papeete Port. I would recommend them for sure and I would stay again if need be.

Great spot for your money. Center of the city and near a taxi stop. Definitely bring some headphones or ear plugs if you're looking for some hard 8 hour sleep. Local food is really good too.

Mahana Lodge is the only hostel in Papeete, so regardless of rating/quality, there’s no other alternatives. 🙂 Centrally located close to market and harbor. Staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast with eggs and baguette. 😐 Some homeless, but not more than in other areas of Papeete or any American city. ☹️ Extreme smell of mold in some dorms, also mold in the showers. Kitchen sparsely equipped. Hostel atmosphere very anonymous.
