No atmosphere and not a very pretty space

When I saw the rating of 9.8, I booked the hostel straight away. When we arrived, the staff was really nice and showed us the hostel in a really friendly way. The moment we saw the dormroom was not so much fun. Instead of a 6 people room, they spontaneously added another bunkbed there. There was already no space to put your stuff, but with this action, there was even less. I was really disappointed about this fact. Furthermore, the bunkbeds were those cheap ones, where every movement is too much

It is a nice and cozy hostel, definitely ok value for money. The main eye soar for us was that the corner of the street was a loitering spot for men at night, that were catcalling. This felt unsafe for my wife to pass alone at night (of course nothing the hostal can prevent). The kitchen didn’t feel super clean.

Super nette Familie, die die Unterkunft führt, haben uns dort auch Roller vermieter.

Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Die Familie ist sehr lieb und hilfsbereit. Sie haben uns beim Mieten von Scootern geholfen. Nach einem Unfall haben sie geholfen zu prüfen ob uns nicht zu viel berechnet wird. Die Unterkunft ist sehr schön und gemütlich. Die Küche gut ausgestattet. Die Zimmer sind schlicht. Alles ist sehr sauber. Am letzten Abend hatten wir eine Kakerlake im Bad, was aber an sich sehr sauber war. Wifi fällt oft aus. Bei uns hat es zwei Tage nicht funktioniert.

Our stay at Casa Gio was decent. The staff helped us to set up a solid tour guide for Concepcion (although more expensive than friends paid at other hostels) and an excellent motorbike. The kitchen was good but often messy, and the "drinking water" was filtered from the tap (smelled and tasted not great). It was hot in the room and costed more than double to turn the AC on ($18USD up to $40USD per day) - crazy! Vibes were weird and definitely not social.

The family was incredibly nice & helpful: negotiated a motorbike rental, told us how much prices would be around town (Myogolpa is a tourist town so prices vary depending on where you go for everything), & helped arrange a guide for hiking concepcion volcano. Many strong fans in the dorm. We left the door open at night for air flow which was perfectly safe. There were drawers under the bed to lock up out bags. They could improve the drainage in the shower. It was so slow.

Nice stay in Omepete :) Everything is clean, the hosts were really helpful regarding transports and the rent of a scooter and the free breakfast was also very good! I only felt like the way to the location was a bit sketchy especially at night

Amazing and chill hostel! Not huge which we liked the more tranquil vibe but easy to socialise with the other guests! Brilliant location in town, felt safe and the kitchen is well equipped. The rooms are big and clean - loved the en-suite! Best of all was Arron and his family; they were soooo generous and could not do enough for us! Gave us the best rates for shuttles and bike rentals and tours. Loved our stay here so much, everything was perfect!

Je n’ai passé qu’une nuit à la Casa de Gio mais j’ai été très bien accueilli. Le propriétaire est super gentil et nous a donné plein de conseils sur les activités à faire, les choses à voir. Les chambres sont spacieuses. L’hostel est placé à l’écart du centre ville, c’est très calme, mais il y a commerces et restaurants à proximité. Je recommande. Merci encore :)

We absolutely loved our stay at casa de gio. Beautiful property run by a friendly young family. They go out of their way to make sure you have everything that you need to feel comfortable and at home. We also rented a moped from them for a very good price which was the highlight of our trip in Ometepe. Their location was also ideal, walking distance from the ferry and steps from shops/ restaurants/ grocery store and the main square. The area also felt safe, even as 2 girls walking at night.

Sehr ruhig, grosse Zimmer, fast eher Hotel-Atmosphäre :) Grosse und gut ausgestattete Küche. Alles in allem sehr angenehmer Aufenthalt und herzliche Gastgeber:innen.

Cuisine propre et fonctionnelle, parties communes bien aménagées, chambre + salle de bain ok, nous avons été très bien accueillis

We'd an amazing stay and the staff was so friendly! They even wanted to help us out with money for the ferry, and they helped us a lot with renting scooters. They gave us a lot of tips for the island. The place itself is clean, cozy and very good value for money! Would definitely return.

This is a great little hostel if you’re staying in Moyogalpa. The host was so lovely and helpful, would recommend this place purely for her! Able to organise tours etc through the hotel and they also offered a very decent laundry service. Would stay again

I loved the common areas here and the staff were amazing! There are lots of hammocks and nice sitting area plus a kitchen. The internet was a bit spotty but I think that's just the area. I would def recommend taking a taxi here from the ferry as I wouldn't want to walk around the area alone. I would stay here again!
