+ Smooth self-checkin process with clear instructions left by staff. King bed with private bathroom a lot cheaper than other options in Lake Tekapo. Only a few minutes walk to the village centre.
+ Nice stay. User friendly check-in process. Great location
+ Kids loved the guinea pigs
+ Very close to the centre of town and was for a last minute booking the best overall available option. Shared facilities were fine and actually were always very clean. They also had a selection of sports equipment which you can use which was fun to do with the kids. We had 6 beds in our room and they were all comfy and the room was warm and had a nice view of the chickens.
- No staff to check you in. But really nothing to get too worked up about as they did leave a key out for us on the counter. Parking was a little limited in the actual property but to be fair there was ample on street parking so it wasnt really too much bother.

Really cool hostel with the best location and garden. The staff were so nice and helpful and the whole place has a great energy. It felt like a local home with lots of outside space! Free tennis was super. 100% recommend to everyone traveling through NZ.

It was ok for backpackers. We had a private room, but one of the pillows was covered in hair (that definitely wasn't either of ours as we didn't use that bed). Can't give security or staff higher scores as there was no security and we didn't meet any staff. Keys were collected from a piece of paper with my name on it. Good location - 5 mins walk from the lake and dark sky project etc.
