Doobaki Hostel

If rating above 9, I would consider it a worry-free choice. But this hostel is clearly too old and outdated—whether it's the beds, mattresses, curtains, or bathrooms. Next time before booking, I shouldn't trust the rating shown on the platform so much. Hostel World won't be my first choice either.

Upon arrival we didn’t receive a key to our room and one of the lockers was missing it’s key: very inconvenient as we had no place to put valuables. The bathroom was not cleaned well: the drain was full of hairs of prior guests, the toiletseat was broken and very outdated. Under the beds we found socks, tissues and waterbottles. Overall the hostel was dirty. Mattresses were in dire need of replacement, when we spoke of this, over the phone the owner called it ‘Asian style’ and refused to...

You probably get what you pay for. But the staff isn’t very helpful, the whole building needs a good renovation, beds don’t really have a curtain so no real privacy. All bathrooms are ensuite bathrooms. My shared bathroom door was broken, not ideal when sharing a bathroom as a women with men. Instead of fixing it, the staff just suggested for me to go into another ensuite bathroom. The dorms don’t have keys, the lockers can’t be locked so it doesn’t feel very safe. I left a day early

Really good communal area but the rooms are very dated. The mattress is one of the worst iv stayed one and is really thin and hard.

Le séjour s’est bien passé ! Le personnel était super agréable et serviable ! Franchement ! Rien à redire à ce niveau ! C’est bien situé en plus ! Le seul truc où on a pas trop aimé c’est l’état de la salle de bain (pas de VMC du coup trace de moisissures) la boignoire patché, pas de rideau dans la chambre sur la fenêtre principal ! Après évidement chaque lit a un store ! C’est mieux que rien ! Donc voilà tout était ok mais ça reste perfectible ! Mais pour l’accu...

Stayed 2 nights - Very mixed opinion, rather bad... The room is in poor condition. The bed curtain was broken, you had to move it manually and it got stuck... The window curtain to hide the light in the morning was also broken. The mattress is in really bad shape, one of the worst I've tested in any hostel. The bathroom was in really bad condition, mold on the ceiling and walls, the wooden shower area has holes and the floor of the bathtub has rust spots, really needs refreshing.

I was only staying for one night. It‘s great to link up with people. The breakfast room invites to talk. The location is alright, you can get anywhere by bus very near the hostel. I was disappointed by the bathroom tho. It was a bit musty and old. Didn‘t want to shower there.

The staff were lovely and gave me a late check in, rooms were very tiny and smelt bad. Breakfast was basic, and the vibe of the bar was just not it (but I wasn’t there on a weekend). The common space was huge and really great, overall a nice communal stay for a night or two

It’s fine. Lockers in the room don’t work and no secure luggage storage, I appreciated it a very safe city but still. Communal facilities are very good but room is small and not the cleanest. Location is very convenient. Lacked atmosphere when I was there.

Decent hostel with a nice downstairs to hang out / chill in with a big tv. Nice shared kitchen too. Rooms were a bit small so a bit tight with everyones bags About a 10-20min walk to the main part of town but still a nice area to be in

Situated closely to the historic city, extremely friendly and welcoming owner. The internet is sometimes bit patchy only in the rooms, otherwise it's a top notch place to stay in gyeongju.

A really cool hostel to visit. Full of lots of amazing pictures and items from around the world made a great vibe in this hostel. It's in a great spot in Gyeongju to be able to go walking in the National Parks, as well as see lots of local attractions for a short walk. Also has a pub downstairs which is groovy. The staff were excellent and great to chat to. I'd certianly return if I visit Gyeongju again.

Room was quite small for 4 people living together, simple breakfast provided. Shower toiletries provided was a plus, as well as consistent hot water. Location is most convenient to go to Bulguksa temple, Bomun tourist complex and Gyeongju station by bus, but it is quite far away from other main attractions like Gyochon village, Donggung and Wolji Pond, and Gyeongju National Museum.

Great free breakfast and kitchen facilities. Rooms were nice and warm with private bathrooms, and a huge lounge to socialise. Only downsides is the other guests were all quite introverted but that can’t be helped, there were perfect social spaces to socialise if the right people were there. No locks on the bedroom or main door either, or a locker though it did feel very safe. I liked the hostel alot

Pretty decent place to stay, bed was comfortable but the bathroom door had no lock and also the shower curtain was extremely dirty.

Best hostel atmosphere and vibes. Highly recommend

Fantastic hostel! I stayed here for 2 nights and had a wonderful experience. The staff were lovely and always ready to help out. The common area/chill space is a good size and it allows for socializing with other guests. The bar next door is a lot of fun and offers free Karaoke! I would 100% recommend to anyone visiting this awesome city!

Un posto fantastico! Posizione perfetta! Personale gentilissimo (Aaron ci è rimasto nel cuore!). Un ostello arredato con cura e pulito dove si sta davvero bene e dove incontrare altri viaggiatori! Davvero davvero consigliato!
