The hostel had a really weird vibe for a few reasons. First, the kitchen and bathrooms are filthy. Second, there were a lot of volunteers who lived there permanently and were just odd. They smoked, drank, and played terrible music all day and late at night. These volunteers also stank out the kitchen when cooking; I saw one bloke pour a tin of smelly fish over about 8 eggs. My advice to this place is to kick out these ‘volunteers’ and actually invest in the building as it’s in a terrible s...
❌❌❌ A Complete Nightmare This is the first time I've ever written such a detailed review for a hostel — but what I experienced here was genuinely awful, and people deserve to be warned. I was on a low-budget trip in July and chose The High Hostel because of its appealing photos and seemingly good location. That decision turned into one of the biggest travel regrets of my life. 📍 Location: 'Close to the City' Is a Joke The hostel claims to be close to the city center(0.14km fro...
The facilities were super dirty. Although there is large lockers for your bags.
while the hostel view over the bay is very nice, it is up and incredibly steep hill which was a particularly difficult climb in our car. The hostel itself only has two toilets - this is not enough for the amount of guests. Despite there only being two toilets, they are not kept clean & we consciously decided to avoid showering due to the condition. There seems to be permanent residents who played loud music & contributed to an unfamiliar atmosphere in a hostel, one that I'd not recommend.
The hostel had a beautiful view and that was the only thing that was acceptable. The bathroom was dirty with no lid on the trash can so you could see and smell everything. The reception desk was usually unoccupied. At night there were men playing video games through the night. The location was very isolated. I would not recommend for a solo female.
An okay hostel. Great view and a 15-20 min walk to old town, but note that it is on a steep hill. Kitchen was not very clean…
So lala.
I was Solo Travel King and didnt feel very Safe with all the Volunteers. There were a lot of Random men, shirtless, drinking beer, talking loudly and cooking weird stuff in the shared kitchen. Also it’s the worst to get to, the way up is a hike and a taxi up/down costs 5-10€. The beds were okay but the bathroom was very old and not clean
Just the location was no good, was a proper hike up to the hostel
Hostel is not up a Hill, its up on the Mountain! very hard to walk there. It was super dirty, when i told the staff, he told me i could clean it?! Bathrooms were moldy! Even the shower curtains were covered in mold. It didnt look like the pictures, the owner wasnt to nice either. Only good thing was the volunteers, their spirit und kindness really makes the whole vibe of the hostel. Also the bonfires in the evening whre relly nice and gave a nice atmosphere,

The dorm was good But I was in a mood because of some guests who were racist and talking loudly in their rooms.
The walk is worth is for the view. Not a youth hostel. Camp fire was a vibe. Wish there were more bathrooms

The hostel was located on a top of an extremely steep one way hill, so was tricky for our rental car. The hostel manager was helpful and welcoming, but the hostel was very dirty- the kitchen sink was stuffed with food down the drain and didn’t even use the showers because they looked too dirty. The rooms were hot and stuffy, and there were only 2 toilets which meant you are constantly waiting to use the toilet. The hostel has a fire pit outside which is nice, but the noise was very loud.

Yes the property was good, the location is amazing but you need to walk like 1km and 8o metres high in altitude from the main road and they need to work facilities like utensils and gas and also cleanliness but overall it was good.
great view and location, kitchen and laundry facilities! the owner was lovely nothing was too much for him! and theres a camp fire😀
It was not the best. I was with a group so I felt safe however the hostel had a really weird vibe. It had a wonderful view but the bathrooms were not super clean and they didn’t even provide a blanket on the bed just a sheet only. It was pretty cold when I stayed. I wouldn’t recommend staying here on your own
It's a really cool hostel...it's a nice atmosphere around and the land view from the terrance is incredible...you can see all the coast and the mountains...you will have a great and fun time here... sometimes they do a bun fire so create a cosy vibe like if you are on the beach...I think is the best hostel all around Budva
Honestly great views from top but be aware it is a very very steep hike up to the top. So just have that in mind. It is a walk to town but not bad.
Super awesome hostel to stay at! The views are amazing, the vibes are fun, the campfire outside on the patio was a treat! It is on quite the hill though, but it’s not that bad once you’ve dropped your bag off, taxis are easy to get up there too.
Great value with amazing Budva views Stayed one night in a private room and loved it. It’s a short uphill walk, but the views over Budva make it totally worth it. The hostel has a relaxed backpacker energy, helpful staff, and a nice balance of being away from the busy centre while still feeling social. Would definitely recommend.
really good taxi to and from the hostel if you dont want to do the walk. amazing views and social atmosphere. very good bonfire!
Sehr nettes Ambiente. Tolles Servicepersonal.
The bathroom and kitchen were super messy and dirty, the vibe was off in general
Amazing view! As mentioned in other reviews, it is a substantial walk up the hill. While I was there in the off-season it was mostly longer-term guests with not much of a social vibe. Probably more of a vibe in the summertime.
Beds have curtains. There is power outlet. Showers have hot water. There are multiple toilets. Lockers are available. The hotel is located on a high place, so the location is not good.
great location with a great view. the owner is very helpful and it is worth contacting him in regards to transport to and from the hostel. the facilities here are basic. some beds have privacy curtains but not all. the beds are comfy. the showers/bathrooms are usually a mess and need to be cleaned more often. the kitchen is also cramped. it would be fun in the summer when there are more travellers.
Great staff & volunteers who were all friendly and played some great music. The hike up to the hostel is a pain but killer views make it worth it in the sunshine
