I have NEVER given a bad review to hostel in my 6 years of traveling 25 different countries. But I feel like I should to warn other people about this place.I’ve stayed at this hostel before and it was great! But I have never been so disrespected and neglected then at this hostel than ever before and it all has to do with the staff. They feel like they are like the mean girls from the movie “mean girls” and they some how or for some reason feel pride about treating their guest like pieces o...
DO NOT PREPAY IN ADVANCE. Pay for one night only and go from there. I made the mistake of paying for three nights in advance. I needed to leave for an emergency after my first night and they refused to refund any of my money and were kind of nasty about it. Nope. Never again.
They took a $80 deposit from my bank account and never returned it. This was confirmed at reception that it would be reimbursed. It’s been nearly a month and Bonita has ignored my emails regarding my money. Bit of a low blow taking advantage of a budget backpacker….
Horrible experience
Wij kregen Bonita aangeraden door medereizigers maar ons viel het eerlijk gezegd tegen. Wij hadden verwacht dat het een sociaal, chill hostel zou zijn. Maar was meer een party hostel met studentenhuis vibes :). We vonden de prijs te hoog voor wat je ervoor terug krijgt.
We had Bonita recommended by fellow travelers but we were honestly against it. we expected it to be a social, chill hostel. but was more of a party hostel with student house vibes:). we found the price too high for what you get back for it.
This Hostel *DOSE NOT LIST ALL OF ITS RULES* This is a BAR before a HOSTEL & Yes they make it known that there alcohol sales are more important then there guests. I will not support hostels that tell grown men to surrender there alcohol upon arriving. In the end I had to ultimatum the general manager with a call to my visa card to dispute the chargers...... If he tried to charge more then one day, then he backed down, saying "As long as you hide it around the pool your okay" - Then makes us si...
The place is beautiful but honestly the staff are not great. When I went there was a huge group of volunteers who were very cliquey, they didn’t make you feel welcome and rather if you were in the kitchen or communal areas and you were there they would make you feel like you’re interrupting. Por dónde empezar. Limpieza del hostel ok, hay telas de araña en los techos de las habitaciones y la piscina esta verde pero el resto de instalación se mantienen más o menos limpios. Los baños sueñen estar limpios. Los ‘trabajadores ‘, son voluntarios a cambio de comida y alojamiento, no hablan español y no sirven de mucha ayuda para nada. The bathroom was always dirty, the rooms doesn't have a key meaning anyone can go in. Is a party hostel, good to party not to much for another things.
There is no kitchen and you are not allowed to bring your own alcohol. This is no good since the on site restaurant is terrible, and drinks are pricey at the bar. There isn't even a fridge for guests.

Really nice atmosphere. Big beds, nice events organised every day. Don’t remember the name but the Dutch skinny tall guy was super nice. Recommend 100%. Perfect pool just to chill during the day
It´s a really nice place, close to the beach and various places also very clean. The staff was great! had a great time with Max and all the volunteers!
All the volunteers were lovely. Johan, michiel and Mya in particular made this place feel like the perfect place to stay, their vibe was so nice & they had great recommendations & tips.
johan, peter and michiel were absolutely amazing and i would honestly come back to the property just to hang with them. they made the experience 100 times better, thanks guys!

Super fun hostel, very social, all the staff are lovely and there are events on every day. Free/donation exercise classes is a lovely bonus. Excellent location as well in La Punta.
prachtig opgezette locatie met zwembad, liggebied en sportsbar. Ook een shout out naar de crewmembers (Johan, Michiel, Beth en de rest) die de ervaring tot een 10/10 hebben gemaakt!

J’ai passé un super séjour dans cet hostel. L’ambiance est très chouette, entre détente et fête, pleins d’activités sont organisées pour profiter et le staff est super, en particulier Alice et Max au bar!!
The atmosphere is very nice, between relaxation and party, lots of activities are organized to enjoy and the staff is great, especially Alice and Max at the bar!!
Bonita has been so nice, my bed in the 12-room was comfy and had curtains and a ledge to leave stuff on. Showers and toilets are good. The staff were friendly and helpful and helped me extend my stay! I initially only planned for 2 nights but will do at least 5 because Puerto has a lot going on. The sunsets are great, and the hostel events are fun

I'll start with the positives - I really enjoyed the social atmosphere of this hostel, with lots of activities and parties on each night, it was easy to make new friends! The pool area is lovely to lounge around, especially in the heat. All the volunteers were really lovely and helpful - Peter, Colin, Mihel, and a French girl (forgotten her name). Unfortunately, there were a few things that would make me not recommend this hostel -the bathroom facilities were not very clean, outdated, and frust...

Best hostel in Puerto Escondido, top class staff, grounds, activities & vibe all round. Authentic social vibe with great nightlife organised if you fancy. Shoutout Peter, Beth & the receptionists in particular for being great from Day 1.

Had a good stay at Bonita. Yoga is a nice touch. Beds and dorms are really big and nice (with aircon), but PE is incredibly hot and there aren’t nearly enough places to chill at the hostel in the shade…

Everything was nice. Alice is especially knowledgeable about the surroundings. It is a place to party for sure if you like that.
It was only short but the time I spent at Bonita was so amazing. The vibe was always high, there was always something to get involved with, and the people definitely made it. Shoutout to Peter and Ed, absolute legends!
