  1. Confirmed Hostelworld

I got really bad bed bug bites all over my body and face from this hostel. I am miserable and it has affected my trip to beautiful Fiji. Also, the pool was cloudy and there was no atmosphere in the hostel at all. Very disappointed.

  2. Confirmed Hostelworld

The only good thing about this is the location, in the heart of Wailoaloa. Staff seemed a bit annoyed with the guests at times. No kitchen available. Room was dark, too small, nowhere to lock your luggage (just small wobbly lockers for valuables). Room smelled weird, mattress was old. Bathrooms are dirty, not maintained very well. Shower drains don’t work, they always had water in them. Dirty pool. Clear signs of bedbugs, a mouse ate its way through my bag. Cheap place, but wouldn’t come back.

  3. Confirmed Hostelworld

Extremely basic also got bed bugs definitely check your bed before sleeping

  4. Confirmed Hostelworld

Lovely staff and good location. Unfortunately had awful bed bugs with bites all over my body which took several days to stop itching and made marks on legs. Was given 10% off but would have expected full refund.

  5. Confirmed Hostelworld

Had two nights in a dorm bed. Had a great time at the hostel and had some great walks and swims at the beach. Unfortunately there were bed bugs biting all night long and stuck in my clothes. I informed the staff but they didn’t refund our stay, and honestly didn’t seem surprised about the information. Neither were there any kitchen appliances available at all. The staff let us use Bamboo hostel’s hot water and bowls for fast cooked food and coffee.

    Cool place… but I got bed bugs:/

  7. Confirmed Hostelworld

Bed bugs!!! Unfortunately this lovely place we stayed in gave us bed bugs and not only was it an absolute pain to get rid of them but extremely expensive too. Other people in our room said they addressed it to the staff and they “dealt with it”, but in the night we were bitten and then found them in our stuff. We only stayed a night, and it really is a lovely place, however, it’s never ever worth the risk of getting bed bugs!

  8. Confirmed Hostelworld

Great place to stay don’t book through hostel world they always have spare beds and it’s cheaper just to go and do it at the desk if not Bamboo will have space 100m from here. If you’re looking to plan your trip to the islands go to the desk and they will show you the best and cheapest way to do it. I went had an amazing time. There are rumours of bed bugs but stayed 3 nights and didn’t get bitten at all.

  9. Confirmed Hostelworld

I read all the reviews about bedbugs, I stayed in room 7 and we didn't have any. This was at the end of June. Location is close to the beach and some restaurants. Ideal to stay for one night when you're on the move.

  10. Confirmed Hostelworld

Put me in a room full of bed bugs, the only thing you really want to avoid. Rest is great but, they acted like they didn't care/know. Should close the room down or give a refund. If you're in room 7, try to find another place on google (maps) like the beach resort. The ones that are not on booking sites. And check for bedbugs.

  11. Confirmed Hostelworld

This hostel was pretty disgusting and full of bed bugs. Moved rooms and more bed bugs, place was ridden with them.

  12. Confirmed Hostelworld

Lovely staff!! Made us feel very welcome and helpful. Private toilets and good facilities, really close to small beach and some restaurants. Generally rooms were clean however we did notice some bedbugs in other beds. Not sure I would recommend for solo female travellers.

  13. Confirmed Hostelworld

Bed bugs still a problem. We read reviews on another Booking site when we arrived that were very recent (Oct 2023) that mentioned this issue, and so we checked our beds and found live bed bugs in several beds in the 4 bed dorm. We immediately advised staff who confirmed bed bugs present, and were told manager would be there the in the morning and we were moved to 8 bed dorm. Did not sleep at all during that night. Surprised in morning to see another person sleeping in our room after we left it!

  14. Confirmed Hostelworld

We were supposed to stay for 3 nights but left after the first because there were bedbugs. Our roommates noticed it just when we were falling asleep. They put us in a different room with more people and we still had to pay for the night. A refund would have been nice.
