I will never book here again. The only positive was the kind lady who prepared breakfast; everything else was a disaster. I booked a pod in a creepy, overcrowded room where my pod door was actually broken. Being in a mixed area, I felt extremely unsafe after seeing a half-naked man nearby. When I told the staff I couldn’t sleep in those conditions, instead of helping, he simply told me 'not to worry' because 'nobody knows the door is broken. Completely unacceptable
I felt very unsafe here, I’m sure the rooms closer to the center of the building feel safer but I had a private room close to the road. There was no deadbolt and the window was unlocked and the key didn’t work so I didn’t feel comfortable leaving my room.
I booked a private room with attached bathroom for 1 night in January 2026. First room given was damp & musty. I also found hairs all over the bed & another strand of hair on the toilet seat. The pillows are smell & there are stains on the blanket. Second room given was cleaner but there is no sink in room. I had to go out to the hallways to use the shared sink to wash hands & brush teeth. I have another reservation for February & have cancelled it as I do not wish to return.
I left my luggage in the storage, which was not locked. When I came to pick it up, my backpack was opened and it was apparent that it had been searched while I was not there
I received an email at 6:00pm, three hours after the 3pm check-in time, that my reservation was cancelled with no further details. Instead of reaching out to me to offer new options after they double-booked our room, they simply canceled and said nothing until I contacted them on Whatsapp. Once we were able to check in to a different room, the door handle was loose and would not lock. Sheets and pillowcases were stained and room had a weird smell. Only plus was that the showers were hot.
overall i wouldn’t really recommend this place, the bed linen had stains and we found hair in the beds. the toilets were dirty. the overall vibe was just off. my friends capsel was broken, and the staff didn’t do anything about it. also, one of the guys in our room woke us all up in the middle of the night by screaming and punching the walls (he was super drunk), and the staff didn’t do anything about it.
It was so dirty. I don’t recommend it. Especially bed sheets was so dirty. Overall was terrible experience
Clean room, but SO LOUD. Not well insulated at all.
I had a stop over in Guatemala City so I decided to book this hostel in Zone 10, also called Zona Viva. The hostel is situated in a dark street and the ring is not clearly visible at night. I booked a private room with bathroom and I was surprised to see that the sink was outside in the common bathroom area. There is a garden outside but it seemed not used, atmosphere was also quite off, it could be for the low season. Some nice bars and restaurants around, recommend Saul Bistro for food.
asked the manager during check in about rides to the airport and she told me to use there shuttle because the taxis are very expensive and hard to find then promptly had me pay her for the shuttle. Later that day I asked 2 taxis outside the property and they were half of the price she charged me. I politely asked for a refund and she denied. Then next morning changed my time to a much earlier shuttle to fit more people on one trip.

The accommodation was comfortable, although I only stayed one night (the day before my return). the only thing that bothered me was that when we arrived tired, we went to take a bath and there was no water in the toilet. we called the official and he took a while to solve the problem.

After reading some of the past reviews, I was a bit apprehensive staying here. However, I found my stay to be very comfortable. The hostel location is great, close to the airport and mall. The private room was nice/clean and the shower has great water pressure. Staff were kind. This isn’t an overly social hostel but it’s fine for a short stay in the city!

Perfect for a night to sleep near the airport before our early morning flight!
Amazing accommodation with amazing staff, especially Louisa, helping us with good recommendations.

The hostal is okay, not horrible and not amazing. It’s clean and the woman who cleans there is amazing and she makes you feel at home, the rest of the staff are nice enough. There are two things that should be fixed; the seating area outside is a bit akward because there’s not enough space during breakfast, I think it could be built a bit bigger and better. Another thing is that the beds are super noisy, and you can hear when people move and I kept waking up.

loved it! clean, nice and spacious rooms, nice staff and good breakfast. Even got transportation from the airport. Highly recommend it!
Amazing hot showers with good pressure . Free breakfast which was a cute unexpected addition. I didn’t enjoy the location on a busy road .
The hotel lacks a bit of everything: no chairs in the rooms or on the balconies, impossible to borrow a knife or a glass. The location is excellent if you want to be near the pedestrian street but it was the carnival on a street corner and very difficult to sleep at night.
I was very cold during the night. The shower is hot though which is great. The capsule makes a noise everytime you move so that's a downer.. breakfast was good

Central Hostel Dolce Vita is a great hostel for coming in and out of the airport, I've stayed there twice now--once in a private, and once in the dorm bunks. It's close to the airport and a fancy mall where you can easily get a food, sim card, ATM, etc. I felt very safe in the location--though I wish there were lockers for the dorm rooms. Staff are really nice, but would say the vibe is very transient--so not very social. Low water pressure and a bit stale but overall great value.
Only spent one day at this hostel, but from the start I was impressed by the kindness of staff, the cleanliness of the whole hostel, and the must buzz to get in security system that’s in place. I’m grateful they let us check our bags in at 5:30am when we landed in Guatemala although check in was not until 3pm! We made the absolute best of this centrally located spot and wandered the city. There is no shortage of things to do/see, and street vendors to eat from in this area!
Great place, great staff. Would recomend.

They have no lockers. From all the hostels I ve visited they were they only charging 8% for paying by card... The constaction of the capsules are creaking a lot. It is not spacious for a tall persone above 1.80cm
